Chapter 11: You are the most precious

~7 min read 1,354 words

She heard a 'plop' sound, looked up to see, didn't know what he threw in, and asked in a muffled voice: "What are you doing?"

He said: "Making a wish."

"I want to make a wish too."

Then she saw Luka search through all his pockets, but couldn't find a single Star Coin.

"If you don't have one, forget it." She had just said it casually.

But Luka took the jacket off her head, and then took off a badge from his military uniform.

"Throw this."

She took the badge; although it was small, it was heavy, a golden star shape with five horizontal bars next to it. She didn't understand what this symbolized, but felt it was very valuable, so she shook her head repeatedly.

"I don't have a wish anymore, let's go back."

Luka saw that she was unwilling to throw it no matter what, so he took off another badge from his military uniform, threw it into the fountain like a coin, and then closed his eyes; after a while, he opened them.

She couldn't help but be curious and asked: "What wish did you make?"

"Interstellar peace."

Is there really someone so noble?

She opened her eyes wide, made a fool of herself by the man's serious look, and forgot to cry.

She looked at the badge in her hand and finally couldn't bear to throw it. So she held it in her hand and made a wish silently in her heart. Just as she closed her eyes, Luka turned his head to gaze at her, a tenderness he didn't even notice flowing in his eyes.

Seeing Suisui's mood ease, he wanted to return the badge to himself, but spoke first: "Those who have made a wish must keep it themselves." Then he picked her up and walked straight forward.

"I can walk myself."

"The heels are a bit high, walk yourself next time."

On the way, neither of them spoke; Suisui relaxed smelling the scent on him and felt sleepy for no reason.

She wanted to ask what was going on with the bruises on his face, but remembered he was a man with a fiancée; even if she could get his care now, she should guard their respective boundaries, so she yawned and said: "What did my checkup results say?"

Luka's footsteps paused, looking down at her.

"You are an ancient human."

It sounded as if she had become some kind of cultural relic.

However, when this moment of identity exposure came, Qiao Suisui no longer had much panic, instead starting to consider practical problems.

"Um. So how will you dispose of me?"

Luka froze, "I won't dispose of you, and no one will dispose of you. Suisui, your existence is a kind of luck for the galaxy." And for me. Luka didn't say the second half of the sentence.

"Won't someone take me to a laboratory for dissection?"

"Then they would commit a serious crime and have their genes eliminated."

"And no one will lock me up to live-stream and sell art?"

"Using ancient humans for illegal profit will result in being expelled from the Federation."

"Then, I won't be kicked out of your palace either?"

Luka's face was a bit nervous, asking: "Did someone do something to you?"

"No, I just... feel that I am different from you all, I am an alien, am I not? No mental power, no talent, and even more unable to soothe any berserk factors like other females."

Hearing this, Luka had an urge to hold her tightly in his arms, but in the end, he only tightened his arms slightly, lightening his voice and saying: "Precisely because of this, you are the most precious. What you have, we don't. I guarantee to you with the honor of the Sikesaisi family, I will never let anyone hurt you."

... And our child.

Suisui looked at him; that handsome face usually had no expression, but at this moment, when he gazed at her, there was a tenderness that was hard to describe. She immediately covered her chest, afraid her heartbeat would be too loud for him to hear.

Perhaps it was because the big stone in her heart landed, she fell asleep in Luka's arms on the way back.

"About this tall, looks especially beautiful, white and glowing, you can see her at a glance in the crowd—she's been lost for ten minutes! Ten minutes! You're still here asking me some stupid questions!"

"Sir, please calm down, could it be the female over there you are talking about?"

Laiboli looked in the direction the policeman pointed and found that the person he reported missing was in Luka's arms; she was draped in the man's military jacket, looking a bit tired on her small face.

He immediately ran over to check Suisui's state.

"She's asleep." Luka said.

Laiboli confirmed she was fine, then looked at Luka mockingly. "What, still want to be beaten?"

Actually, Luka hadn't left the hospital at all. He just didn't want Suisui to see the bruises on his face, so he had been hiding in the dark following them, from Laiboli buying her clothes to the two talking about the spouse issue, Luka had been there the whole time.

"What exactly do you want? Stepping on two boats? Sikesaisi, you can't occupy everything."

"Now is not the time to say this. You take her back."

Both of them spoke without realizing they were lowering their volume, but it didn't affect the tension at all.

Only when Qiao Suisui couldn't see him did Luka stop masking himself; he gently handed her to Laiboli, covered her with clothes again, his gaze never leaving her.

Laiboli was annoyed with him, stared at him and asked: "When do you plan to tell her about the pregnancy?"

"Wait a bit longer, I need to arrange it in advance."

"You mean the Princess's side?"

"Um. If the royal family knows, Suisui will have trouble."

Getting another little female pregnant before holding the ceremony was a great shame for the royal family. Not to mention this wasn't just about him alone, it was the entire Sikesaisi family; he couldn't let the family be implicated because of him, and he didn't want to see Suisui implicated and hurt.

Laiboli obviously also thought of this layer. "If you ask me, you should just accept your fate and be the Princess's spouse, don't appear in front of Suisui again. I will be good to her and the child, you..."

Before he finished speaking, he was choked by the pressure Luka released. At that moment, Laiboli truly saw the killing intent in his eyes.

"Laiboli, I won't let my child be raised by another male. Between her and me, you don't need to be the good guy."

Laiboli sneered, "Then what do you plan to do? Betray the Sikesaisi family? Betray the royal family and dissolve the spouse relationship with the Princess?"

Originally it was teasing words, but after he finished, seeing Luka's expression calm and his eyes firm, he was surprised.

"You don't really plan to do that, do you?"

From childhood to adulthood, between the two of them, Luka was always the one who considered the most, and also the more excellent one; as the heir to the Sikesaisi family, he was never allowed to make mistakes. And Laiboli was the one who acted directly, thinking about the consequences after doing things; because he had been cold-shouldered by the royal family since childhood, he became rebellious and indulgent, only becoming smooth after adulthood.

"Even if she has your child, I won't let go." Laiboli said.

"Is it because you really can't do without her, or is it that as long as I have it, you want it too?"

Hearing this, Laiboli froze, stammering and unable to speak.

Luka gazed gently at the sleeping person in his arms, unwilling to tidy up the stray hair by her ear, and when he lowered his hand, he had returned to his usual expressionless state; he didn't look at Laiboli again and left without a word.
