Chapter 4: He Produced a Famous Blade

~4 min read 630 words

Wang Cen, who was eating meat, was so frightened by the dragon's roar that the chopsticks in his hand almost slipped, and cold sweat instantly poured down.

His face turned deathly pale: "Doing this will eventually give us depression! NND, you're trying to play dirty on me, right!" He glanced at Ying and Amber beside them; they also stopped eating, their faces not looking good either.

Three people stared at each other—pfft—four people stared at each other, then all stood up. Without much verbal exchange, they rushed into the streets of Mondstadt. However, Wang Cen glanced back at the carrot-and-meat stir-fry on the table, pulled out a sack from somewhere, ran back to the restaurant, and began dumping vegetables into it.

At that moment, Ying felt something slipping away from her; she turned her head and jumped in surprise: "WC, why are you running back?" Saying that, she ran toward Wang Cen.

Wait. Why am I running toward him???

It was just this moment of absentmindedness when a fierce wind rose from their feet, sweeping the two up—so to speak—'Wherever the wind rises from the ground, I wish to ride it and cleave ten thousand miles.'

Wang Cen was completely dazed. "What… what's this weightlessness?" Soon after, Wang Cen flew up, though this flight was a bit painful.

"Tnnd, Mondstadt's sanitation workers are useless—meow, there are so many small stones! Their wages must be deducted! Zhòu!"

Suddenly, a dragon's roar pulled Wang Cen back to reality. He hurriedly opened his eyes; a huge azure figure flew past him, and then a long azure afterimage rapidly expanded in the vision of Wang Cen and Ying.

After the smoke and dust cleared, Wang Cen and Ying had vanished, but Mondstadt now had an additional ruin. Te Walin turned away contemptuously, yet a strand of purple light appeared in the sky.

On the lawn outside Mondstadt City, rows of players gazed up at that wind dragon, and beside the respawn point, white light kept flashing, joining the thick crowd.

At that moment, a bolt of lightning shot up from the house's ruins, the sky darkened, and purple light kept flashing in the clouds.

Wang Cen: "All of you, get out of my way—I~ am about to start showing off!"

Just then, as the dragon's tail swept over, Wang Cen, relying on his inhuman reflexes, raised a lightning shield that deflected most of the force, but he could not avoid being slapped back to the ground by the dragon from above. At this point, Wang Cen could take no further protective measures, so he held Ying tightly and closed his eyes: "TMD, is this dragon really that strong?"

Fortunately, Wang Cen and Ying hadn't flown very high, and the roof was already dilapidated, so this impact didn't kill Wang Cen outright, though he vomited several mouthfuls of blood. Yet the blow also absorbed most of the impact, and the building's second floor slowed the fall, leaving him with just a breath when he hit the floor.

He glanced at Ying in his arms, checked her breathing—she was still alive. He laid Ying aside, the breath he'd been holding could no longer be contained; pain spread through his body, making him cough up several mouthfuls of black blood.

Wang Cen: "If I hadn't brought my famous blade, I'd already be dead. And this damned dragon—tmiao, I'll fight you to the death!"

Wang Cen was utterly enraged—"Even our parents wouldn't dare hit us this hard! Are you trying to beat me to death?" The word "steady" had vanished from Wang Cen's mind, his eyes turned bloodshot. Then came the trembling of the earth. The Lightning-affinity Vision blazed, a sky‑soaring lightning pillar rose, and the sky shifted from clear blue to overcast clouds, blocking the sun's light.
