Chapter 8

~6 min read 1,128 words

Gwen felt very ashamed. The current situation was—

Ye Li was sitting on the edge of the bed, with both girls sitting in his lap.

Gwen was facing him, pressed tightly by Jessica.

And Jessica was pressing against Gwen from behind...

.......A very interesting posture.

"Double the happiness, is it, Jessica?"

Ye Li wrapped his arms around both of them and smirked. "I think it's only double the happiness if it includes you."

The slender waists of the two girls combined weren't even that wide; they were easily encircled by one of his arms.

"Li, you can't! I am your..."

"Hmm? It's just a spanking; isn't it only right that I teach you a lesson?"

"Ah?" Jessica was slightly stunned. So it was just a spanking? She had thought...

Wait! No, that meant she was going to get beaten!?

*Smack!*

"Ah—!"

"Well hit, Li~" Gwen clapped her little hands in delight; the ship of friendship had capsized just like that.

*Smack!*

"Ah~ woo, Li, why did you hit me..."

"Sorry... Gwen, I missed."

A while later~

Jessica clutched her bottom, her eyes full of resentment... she had been beaten after all.

"Hmph!"

She glanced at the scroll Ye Li had placed on the table and reached out to grab it.

"Let me see how the poster turned out. I got beaten for this, after all!"

The large poster was quite long when unfurled.

Jessica was already quite tall, but she still had to raise her arms to fully spread it out.

"Oh, very nice! Looks like I didn't get beaten for nothing."

The poster featured a night view of New York under neon lights, with a lithe silhouette swinging on webs between buildings. Under Ye Li’s editing, the black, white, and purple colors of the uniform looked vivid, and combined with the cool pose, it made it impossible to look away.

Below, in cool, flashy font, were the large words "Ghost-Spider."

It couldn't be called high art, but it fit the aesthetic of young people perfectly—it was ideal for recruiting people to join the fan club.

"A Ghost-Spider poster? What are you two trying to do?"

Gwen realized something was wrong.

First, they made her cosplay, and now they had prepared such an eye-catching poster. Was the theme of tonight's party superheroes?

Jessica gave her a thumbs-up and said excitedly, "Gwen, I’m planning to start a Ghost-Spider fan club! I’m going to announce it tonight!"

Gwen: "Huh?"

The party downstairs had already entered a white-hot stage.

Someone noticed a temporary stage set up in the very back.

Because of this, many social butterflies took the initiative to go on stage and perform talents, mostly to attract the boys/girls they admired.

Everything from popping, street dance, comedy acts, to beatboxing and rapping brought the party atmosphere to a climax.

There was even a hot girl who wanted to perform a striptease.

However, Harry stopped her, citing that they were too young for that.

This made the boys off-stage feel great regret, and they all complained that Harry was no fun.

Harry was doing it for Peter's sake, too.

Peter was chatting aimlessly with Mary Jane Watson from Jessica's band; if there had been a sudden provocative performance on stage, he definitely would have been embarrassed.

Jessica: [Jane, stop wandering outside, come backstage quickly, our performance is about to start!]

Mary Jane saw the message on her phone, smiled at Peter, and stood up. "Peter, I have to excuse myself."

"Jane..." Peter watched reluctantly as Mary Jane walked away.

A chubby boy took Mary Jane's seat. "Peter, looks like your battle isn't going so well? Look on the bright side, didn't Thompson get taught a lesson today? Isn't that a good thing?" ===== CHAPTER 20 =====

"That was Li's doing, not mine."

Peter was actually much more cheerful with this best friend. "Ned, where did you run off to just now?"

"There's a girl named Cindy Moon; she's really pretty, and her skin tone matches mine perfectly."

Ned spread his hands. "But she seems to be in a bad mood and didn't pay attention to me."

Peter fiddled with his camera. "Li taught me a Chinese phrase, how did it go... We are six of one, half a dozen of the other."

"Oh, Peter, she really is an angel!"

Ned said with a lovesick face, "Her status in my heart can already rival Spider-Woman!"

"Give it a rest, Ned. You said the same thing when you saw Betty last time."

As the two were talking,

The stage curtain suddenly closed.

The noisy chatter below went quiet, followed by sounds of confusion.

"What happened?"

"Why close it? We could keep partying all day!"

"Could it be the grand finale?"

"Quiet, quiet."

Harry walked onto the stage to host, announcing that the next performance would be by the Mary Janes band.

"Betty and the others are going on stage too? That's awesome!!"

"Whoo! Go Mary Jane!!"

"Will Stacy be appearing? I haven't seen her all night, she didn't come, did she?"

"Jessica!!"

"Jessica!"

The crowd below became enthusiastic again, calling out the names they liked!!

The members of the Mary Janes band all had quite a bit of popularity at school.

Especially Jessica; because of her cool and handsome persona at school, she not only had many male fans, but even quite a few girls were calling her name.

However, when the curtain opened again, it wasn't the girls from the band on stage, but a very handsome man.

He held an electric guitar in his hand, and his smile was very gentle, making the adolescent girls unable to look away.

A girl with short black hair below the stage asked strangely, "Who is he? Where is my Jessica?"

"He looks so handsome!"

Another mixed-race girl nearby laughed and shouted at the stage, "Go for it, handsome!!"

The short-haired girl said firmly, "Skye, although I admit he's handsome, I still want Jessica. I won't be turned straight!"

People around them also started discussing.

"I think I saw him earlier, carrying a big stick and heading to the second floor."

"I remember now, isn't this Mr. Ye Li?"

"He has lectured at the school a few times; he has a PhD in the Arts at such a young age!"

"Oh my god, it's fine if the freshmen don't know, but what's wrong with you upperclassmen?"

"Hey! He probably hasn't even been here a few times, how would I remember!"

Backstage.

Gwen, wearing the cosplay outfit, had a complex expression. How did things turn out like this...

Her mood now was like a spiderweb—anxious, happy, awkward, blissful; all sorts of emotions intertwined.

So, her friends, classmates, and Li were actually so supportive of her.

"Gwen, don't hesitate, get ready quickly!" ===== CHAPTER 21 =====
