During this process, ultrasonic waves and high temperatures became the weaknesses of all symbiote descendants.

Knull went on a killing spree across the universe with the All-Black, but was defeated in a battle and fell onto a desolate, nameless planet. The All-Black was obtained by an indigenous inhabitant, who would later become Gorr the God Butcher.

Many years later, Knull awakened and realized that Gorr was inadvertently following his path, so he did not retrieve the All-Black.

After recovering from his injuries, Knull discovered he could create amorphous living darkness. He combined his living darkness with the animals on the planet, creating one symbiotic species after another; thus, the symbiotes were born.

Consequently, he created a dark planet, Klyntar, as his base of operations, while simultaneously creating an army of symbiotes and symbiote dragons, attempting to conquer the entire universe.

As the God of Symbiotes, Knull can create, control, and manipulate the Source of Darkness—which is to say, the symbiotes!

Let's put it this way: symbiotes are non-individuals that exist independently.

What does that mean?

It means they are both individuals and a collective, while also being a part of Knull.
