Chapter 55: Lady Bullseye and Your Funeral (Second Update)

~7 min read 1,297 words

Maki Matsumoto—the name alone tells you she hails from the land of the rising sun.

In the comics, she was kidnapped by a gang and happened to witness Bullseye carrying out a mission; his sharp, lethal methods stirred something deep within her. ===== CHAPTER 115 =====

In the chaos, she took a key from a guard’s corpse to break out of her cell. While fighting her way out, she slit the throat of an obstacle; seeing the enemy struggle painfully as they died completely ignited the dark side within Maki.

After disappearing for several years, she reappeared as one of the world’s top assassins, calling herself Lady Bullseye.

Although she went by Lady Bullseye, she actually had little interaction with Bullseye himself. When Bullseye was killed by Daredevil, she was the one who claimed his body.

Later, she was forced to undergo scientific experiments, gaining the ability to vaporize her body.

In the zombie world, she was also zombified. She joined a team to invade the Ape Universe, where she was burned to ashes by the Ape Human Torch of that world.

Simply put, she was another ruthless female villain with no bottom line!

Su Quan discovered that he was quite attractive to villains, or rather, he was very willing to recruit and accept them.

Dottie Underwood, the White Queen, Mr. Negative, various versions of Loki, and so on.

Although they possessed various dark sides and personality quirks, it was precisely because of this that they were more real.

No one is perfect; that is the norm.

A saint like Steve Rogers, upright and morally impeccable, is not a human, but a god!

You can worship him, admire him, and even entrust your life to him.

No matter if you are a good person or a bad person, if you encounter danger, he will save you, even if it means sacrificing himself!

If what you are doing is saving the world or helping others—even just once—he might feel that you are still redeemable!

When villains do bad things and fail, they are just caught, then break out of prison, then get caught again, and then break out again—

Life is endless, and the trouble-making never stops.

Heroes are like simps; they are hurt time and time again, yet they forgive time and time again.

Therefore, heroes are great!

Heroes are constrained, while villains are indulged.

If a hero does one bad thing, all the good deeds they did before are forgotten by the public.

If a villain does one good deed, all the bad things they did before are forgiven by the public.

When heroes strike down villains to prevent the public from suffering greater harm, the public doesn't blame the villains, but instead turns around and sues the heroes, complaining that the heroes caused them losses.

Heh.

Human nature is truly interesting, isn't it!

"You really want to follow me?"

Su Quan looked at the nervous and expectant Maki Matsumoto and laughingly rubbed her long hair, which looked like it hadn't been washed in days.

Maki Matsumoto nodded heavily, feeling somewhat shy: "As long as I can follow you, I'll do anything."

"Anything?"

"Yes."

"Then make me a serving of red-braised pork."

"..."

That turn came out of nowhere!

Red-braised pork?

I—I don't know how!

Maki Matsumoto’s face turned beet red, and the White Queen and Dottie Underwood couldn't help but burst into laughter.

Although these two old-timers didn't know what red-braised pork was either, it clearly sounded like a dish!

The little girl meant she was willing to be a beast of burden for him, but he—he actually asked her to cook.

It was impossible to tell what he was thinking; he was always unpredictable.

"Alright, I won't tease you anymore. If you want to follow me, you aren't qualified yet."

Su Quan smiled and looked at the White Queen and Dottie Underwood. "I'll leave her to you two. Train her well; she has good talent."

After saying this, Su Quan teleported directly back into the cargo ship's hold.

Dottie Underwood and the White Queen were already used to this.

Although Maki Matsumoto was shocked, she remained relatively composed, though her eyes burned with even more fervent worship whenever she looked at the cargo ship.

The Captain's Cabin.

Hearing the door open, Ward Meachum felt like a prisoner awaiting judgment, anxiously bracing for the verdict that would decide his fate.

Although he couldn't see what was happening outside, the gunfire had stopped, and his mind was in turmoil; he couldn't guess what had happened.

"Joy?"

The female Winter Soldier pushed a brown-haired girl inside.

"Brother."

Joy Meachum called out excitedly, but Ward Meachum turned pale and avoided her, growling like an angry hound at the female Winter Soldier.

"Why did you bring her here! Where is your boss? Call him over! No, tell him—he can name any terms he wants, as long as he doesn't kill us."

The female Winter Soldier remained indifferent, turning to close the door as she prepared to leave.

"Wait, let Joy go! Let my sister go! Kill me—killing me alone is enough!"

"Bastard! Are you even listening to me? I said, killing me alone is enough!"

Ward Meachum’s hysterical appearance left Joy Meachum stunned; she had never seen her brother like this...

Are we going to be killed—

Joy Meachum looked at her brother and suddenly realized she wasn't as afraid as she thought.

"Death is not the most terrifying thing; being forgotten is the final farewell. Please remember those you love and those who have loved you."

Su Quan pushed the door open and scanned Joy Meachum for a few moments.

Rich girls really are well-nourished; she wasn't even an adult yet, and her legs were already this long.

"You—if you want to kill someone, kill me! Let my sister go, I beg you!"

Ward Meachum’s plea was bitter and desperate.

A selfish, cold-blooded man who dared to kill his own father was willing to give everything to save his sister. From a moral standpoint, this was his only redeeming quality.

Of course, it could also be that he was still young and hadn't yet been corrupted by power and ambition.

"A person dies three times."

"The first time is when they stop breathing; biologically, they are dead."

"The second time is at their funeral, when people come to pay their respects and remember their life; socially, they are dead."

"The third time is when the last person who remembers them forgets them; that is when they are truly dead."

"Death is not the final stop of life; being forgotten is!"

Su Quan looked at the increasingly silent Ward Meachum and, after a moment of thought, said:

"If you are willing to give me 50 billion, at your funeral, I will have Thor summon thunder and lightning, with rolling heavenly thunder and endless gales."

"Five thousand Asgardian Valkyries will circle above your coffin on flying horses."

"On the ground, Black Widow, Spider-Man, Professor X, Phoenix, Apocalypse, Wolverine, Thanos, Loki, Ghost Rider, Doctor Strange, Iceman, Pyro, Magneto, the White Queen, the Black Queen, and others will stand in silent mourning for you."

"Outside the universe, the Guardians of the Galaxy will set off 50,000 spaceships’ worth of Yondu-style fireworks for you."

"The One Above All will preside over your service, and the Living Tribunal will help carry your coffin."

"Then, they will leave in silence."

"Leaving those in attendance to wonder if you had once saved the multiverse!"
