Chapter 566: Young Storm, the thief (First update, please subscribe!)
Summer goes and winter comes, time flows like water.
It has been almost twenty years since Su Quan took Lauren and her brother and most of the mutants of the underground organization to move to Void Island.
Twenty years, for Su Quan, who has almost always been eating, drinking, and having fun, it was just a blink of an eye.
With a blink of the eyes, a day passed.
With a blink of the eyes, a year passed.
With a blink of the eyes, twenty years passed.
Su Quan was so happy he forgot to return home. Before he even realized it, little girls like Mariko Yashida and Yukio had grown into graceful young women, mature enough to be plucked like ripe fruit.
The number of mutants on the island grew steadily. Aside from the *Gifted* world sending mutants over periodically, Jean Grey and Storm would occasionally bring people back when they returned to the *Old Timeline*.
Not to mention the *New Timeline* where Void Island was located; although Void Island was isolated overseas, the Hellfire Club had been developing continuously.
Beyond the mutants brought back from the club, Void Island had long since become famous as a mutant paradise within the general mutant community.
Many people braved hardships and difficulties to find Void Island, begging to join.
To this day, over ten thousand mutants lived on Void Island. Such a scale was comparable to many small towns outside of core regions, and it was entirely self-sufficient, forming its own faction.
There is no need to recount every detail; let us simply speak of the few squads that were established.
X-Factor.
X-Force.
And the Void Guard.
X-Factor was led by the White Queen, with the younger White Queen in charge, and Dr. Reyes and others participating, specifically responsible for training new mutants to master their abilities.
X-Force was led by the Black Queen, with the older Raven in charge, and Nightcrawler and others participating, specifically responsible for confronting enemies and protecting Void Island.
As for the Void Guard, although it bore the name of the island, it was actually Su Quan's personal guard, specifically responsible for matters related to Su Quan.
At the same time, this squad also possessed the attribute of maintaining the order of the multiverse, but the relevant content and personnel were not yet perfected, so it is ignored for now.
The current members of this squad were quite impressive: Captain Red Queen, Vice-Captain Phoenix, and members Polaris, Shadowcat, Lifeguard, X-23, Lauren, Rogue, the younger Mystique, Warp, and the older Blink.
Of course, these were only tentative members and could change at any time.
Egypt, Cairo.
In a certain market, Su Quan had rented the highest-class restaurant in the vicinity.
To say it was the highest class was only by comparison; in reality, it didn't even have decent doors or windows, making it practically semi-open-air.
Coupled with the dirt roads outside, whenever the wind blew, dust would swirl, filling the sky with yellow sand!
Had Su Quan not used a bit of effort to create a spatial barrier, let alone having a dining experience, one would have been blown full of sand just by sitting there.
Su Quan had brought his own wine and food, leisurely sipping while watching a young girl with a mohawk in the market outside the window.
"No wonder you didn't let Storm come along. I truly didn't expect the young Storm in this world to look like this."
Jean Grey sat opposite Su Quan, also watching the girl, shaking her head and teasing with a smirk.
Cairo, mohawk hairstyle—it was obvious that this girl was the future Storm of this world, Ororo Munroe!
If not for Su Quan, she would soon encounter the newly awakened Apocalypse, be enhanced by him, and become one of the new Four Horsemen.
Now, however, what Apocalypse could do, Su Quan could also do; what Apocalypse could not do, Su Quan could do just the same!
Rather than following Apocalypse to be a Four Horseman with no future, wouldn't it be better to follow Su Quan?
Her good fortune had arrived.
Of course, Ororo Munroe did not know that a stroke of heaven-sent luck was about to befall her; at this moment, she was looking for a target to strike.
Suddenly, her eyes brightened slightly as she locked onto a money box at a nearby stall.
Looking left and right, seeing no one was paying attention, her pupils instantly turned white, and immediately, a wild wind carrying yellow sand suddenly whipped up.
The surrounding people instinctively turned their backs to avoid it. Ororo Munroe saw her chance, rushed toward the target, grabbed a handful of money directly from the box, and took off running amidst the stall owner's curses and shouts.
"Damn thief, catch her!"
The stall owner called for friends while giving chase.
Watching Ororo Munroe run out of the market and into an alley, Su Quan raised the corner of his mouth and ordered: "Lauren, Raven, go bring her here."
"Alright."
Lauren and Raven stood up, left the restaurant, and headed toward the alley.
In the alley, Ororo Munroe was blocked from both front and back.
In front was a burly man holding a club, behind was the stall owner pulling out a dagger, and on both sides were towering mud walls; her situation could be described as having no way to fly out.
"Do you know what happens to thieves?" The stall owner laughed loudly, looking triumphantly at the girl with no escape.
Call the police?
Lock her up?
No, no, no. There was an unwritten rule here: whichever hand stole the item, that hand gets broken!
"Which hand do you choose!" The stall owner looked at her two hands playfully.
Ororo Munroe panted in panic. Although she had special abilities, they were too weak; they couldn't help her escape, let alone defeat these two men.
She was afraid—afraid of having her hand broken, and even more afraid that after losing a hand, she wouldn't be able to get money to support herself and the children younger than her.
At this point, she only had two choices.
Either fight, or beg for mercy.
Ororo Munroe took a deep breath and was just about to beg for mercy when she suddenly heard a light shout.
"Enough!"
The stall owner turned at the sound, looked at the two young and beautiful women, and smiled.
He brandished his dagger and scolded: "This has nothing to do with you. If you're with her, I advise you to get lost!"
"If we were with her, you'd advise us to get lost? Heh, you're quite fair," Lauren said with a giggle.
Twenty years had passed, and Lauren's appearance hadn't changed much, she had just grown up quite a bit, was taller, and had grown in other areas.
"Get lost before I change my mind!" the stall owner said impatiently.
Lauren shook her head and said regretfully: "I'm afraid that won't do. We are under orders to bring her back. If you don't let her go, we'll have a hard time reporting back."
Under orders to bring me back?
Whose orders?
Bring me back where?
Ororo Munroe was confused, but she was clever enough not to speak. No matter who they were, she had to get past this hurdle first.
"Get lost, or I won't be polite to you!" The stall owner gestured at Lauren and Raven with his dagger.
Raven snorted, waved her hand to push his arm aside, and kicked him in the shin.
"Bang!"
The stall owner felt the pain, his leg kicked back, his knee buckled, and he fell directly to his knees.
"Bang!"
Raven's knee slammed into the stall owner's face, and he groaned, falling flat.
