Chapter 79: The Truth of the Time Variance Authority

~7 min read 1,264 words

What they truly could not accept was that their self-proclaimed sacred status and faith were actually fake.

They were actually just like the time criminals they captured—they were all time criminals!

It was just that they had been brainwashed by the Time Variance Authority, losing their original identities and memories.

Then, in a sudden transformation.

They became Time Keepers who maintained the stability of the Sacred Timeline for the Time Variance Authority and captured time criminals.

I must say, this is truly a great irony!

As the captain of this squad of Time Keepers, C-20, although equally distraught, forced herself to calm down.

Looking at the time criminal—no, it should be said, the Master of the Void—who let them know the truth, she spoke in a deep voice:

"What do you want us to do?"

Su Quan shook his head and said indifferently: "It's not that I look down on you—well, actually, I do look down on you."

"With your strength, what can you do? Overthrow the Time Variance Authority, are you capable of that?"

"No!"

"Don't even talk about overthrowing them. If they knew you already knew the truth, heh, I'd consider you impressive if you could escape alive!"

C-20 was somewhat indignant: "Are we just going to do nothing and continue to work for them?"

"When poor, use tactical infiltration; when rich, use carpet bombing. Caliber is justice, Detection Range is truth, volley fire is romance, and explosions are art."

"Without strength, what the hell are you indignant about!"

"Go back honestly and hide yourself, do what you need to do, and I will naturally contact you when I need you."

Su Quan didn't expect them to accomplish anything major; he just needed them to pass a message when necessary and act as tools for him to farm drop rewards.

He certainly wouldn't complain about having too many good things like time controllers and black batons.

"Fine, we'll go back, but you have to return our equipment, otherwise how are we supposed to explain ourselves when we return?" C-20 said.

Su Quan looked at her: "You are truly beautiful."

Although wearing a uniform that didn't show off her figure, with her light black skin and sharp facial features, C-20 could indeed be considered beautiful in some people's aesthetic.

C-20 was stunned: "You, what do you mean?"

"What do I mean? Heh, I mean you are truly beautiful, you think truly beautifully!"

Su Quan curled his lips and directly used the time controller to open a portal leading directly to the Time Variance Authority.

Immediately after, with a light flick of his finger, he didn't wait for C-20 to speak and directly controlled her and the other Time Keepers to fly into the portal.

"Swish!"

The portal disappeared.

Su Quan put away the time controller and looked at the survivor squad.

"Speak up, what are your thoughts? If you are not reconciled, I can lend this thing to you."

Su Quan took off the Infinity Gauntlet and handed it toward them.

This was originally their only hope to save the world, but now, no one reached out to take it.

"Boom!"

Just at this moment, a powerful and gorgeous colored beam of light suddenly descended from the sky, instantly attracting everyone's attention.

The gorgeous colored beam of light erupted with a powerful impact, and everyone subconsciously lowered their heads and raised their hands to shield themselves from the blinding light and the impact of the strong wind.

"Whew—"

An axe carrying thunder flew out horizontally from the colored beam of light, spinning and hacking the zombies that had been attracted into pieces, scattering them all over the ground.

The zombies in Wakanda wouldn't just stay in place because of the battle between Su Quan and Thanos, or the appearance of the Time Keepers.

Quite the contrary.

The commotion here actually attracted the zombies from further away.

"This is the Bifrost!"

"Thor, it's Thor!!!"

Bruce Banner shouted excitedly, staring unblinkingly at the figure emerging from the gradually disappearing Bifrost.

"Snap!"

The axe that had completed a rotation flew back into Thor's hand automatically.

Thor held the axe in his right hand, and a raccoon holding a laser gun stood on his left shoulder.

At the same time, a tree-man was also standing beside him!

"Thor!!!"

Bruce Banner shouted again.

Although the others were not as excited as he was, their originally low and sorrowful moods were lifted by Thor's appearance.

Rocket Raccoon jumped off Thor's shoulder, loaded his weapon, and looked ready for battle.

Thor's gaze swept quickly through the crowd and soon discovered Thanos kneeling on the ground.

Hatred and anger drowned his reason; he didn't think about why Thanos was kneeling on the ground, he only had one thought.

Revenge!

"Thanos!!!"

Thor let out a roar filled with fury, the Stormbreaker in his hand flashing with violent thunder, and he threw it directly at Thanos.

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—"

The high-speed spinning Stormbreaker carried unrivaled thunder and momentum, heading straight for Thanos's head.

Thanos knelt there with his head lowered, motionless, as if he were already dead.

Just as Thor's great revenge was about to be fulfilled and the Stormbreaker was about to hack into Thanos, a fair, slender, and unremarkable hand reached out.

"Snap!"

The Stormbreaker was caught, stopping in front of Thanos.

The tail end of Thor's angry roar came to an abrupt halt!

He stared coldly at this man who had caught his axe and saved Thanos.

Anyone who helps Thanos is an enemy!

Thor reached out to summon the Stormbreaker, preparing to rush over to finish the opponent off and then kill Thanos.

One second, two seconds—

The Stormbreaker was in the opponent's hand and did not return.

"Three seconds, five seconds—"

The Stormbreaker shook slightly, but soon became quiet again; it still didn't return.

Watching Thor's expression gradually become awkward, Su Quan released the Stormbreaker, letting it return to Thor's hand.

Bruce Banner and the others finally reacted at this moment and hurriedly tried to persuade the two not to fight.

After all, Su Quan was not an enemy, and Thanos had been defeated by him.

Moreover, although Thor was the strongest Avenger—one of them—and had a powerful new weapon.

But facing Su Quan, who could easily beat a five-stone zombie Thanos into paralysis, they didn't think Thor could win!

"Su Quan, Thor, you two—"

The words of persuasion were blocked back by Su Quan with a wave of his hand.

Psychic abilities caused them to lose their ability to move and speak once again.

Except for confused and anxious eyes, they couldn't do anything.

And Thor, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot, the three of them, obviously couldn't accurately understand their meaning through their eyes.

"Nice axe, I have one too. The coincidence is, they are exactly the same."

Su Quan smiled and reached out, and an axe exactly the same as the Stormbreaker appeared out of thin air.

Thor, who had originally wanted to mock him, immediately widened his eyes, staring in disbelief at the axe in Su Quan's hand.

"Impossible! This is impossible!"

"My axe was forged by the Dwarf King Eitri using the Asgardian metal Uru at the high temperature of a neutron star of hundreds of billions of degrees."

"And the handle was made by my friend using his arm."

"How could you have an axe exactly the same as mine? This is absolutely impossible!"

PS: This chapter had me stuck to the point of wanting to die; mainly, it's just really hard to wrap my head around these time-related settings.
