A long time ago, she once followed the Professor to visit the Professor's friend, Dr. Moira MacTaggert. Dr. Moira MacTaggert had a mutant son, and after the mutant gene awakened, powerful spiritual energy began to decompose his body.
The Professor wanted to help him just like he helped himself, but unfortunately, he didn't succeed.
In the end, Dr. Moira MacTaggert could only place him in a secret room in her research institute, trying to research a solution.
Jean Grey remembered that when they came back, the Professor said that if the spiritual energy couldn't be stopped from decomposing the body, he would become a pure psionic creature.
