Chapter 236: Your Subject Now Begs Leave, and Hopes Your Majesty Will Grant It
Your subject now begs leave, and hopes Your Majesty will grant it.
Your subject now begs leave, and hopes Your Majesty will grant it.
This old subject truly carries an illness in his body, and begs leave, hoping Your Majesty will grant it; once his ailment is healed, he shall be able to resume updates.
TL; DR:
Today I'll take a day off first, then tomorrow I'll do a 10k day (with a recommendation push), and the day after I'll start a roughly one-week stretch of 6k daily updates.
During this period I'll stockpile some drafts, and afterward, depending on how my body recovers, I'll ramp up the updates again.
……
The current bonus-update progress is (72/241), just barely past thirty percent.
After a month of 10k daily updates, I feel my soul has been wrung dry.
Recently the weather turned and the temperature dropped, and my window is leaking wind again — it took me down in one shot.
Colds, staying up late — my body just hasn't been well, leading to unstable update times and inconsistent word counts.
That's not good at all.
Both follow-subscriptions and subscriptions have started fluctuating, dropping all the way down… which makes me more and more uneasy.
I've been forcing myself to hold on, trying to squeeze out every last bit of energy to push through.
But I have to admit that bull-headed endurance without using my brain won't improve the situation — it'll only make it worse.
My heart is clearly uncomfortable, and aches and pains keep cropping up all over my body; the phlegm just won't clear up.
Especially in a sick state, it's really hard to keep my mind sharply focused — and for a creator like me, that's the most fatal thing of all.
My spirit can hold on, but only for a little while; after a while my thoughts drift — the updates come out very, very slowly.
At the same time, this state keeps piling on more and more mental pressure, and I feel like I'm about to explode.
All this negative feedback has thrown me straight into a negative spiral — I'm not happy, I'm even getting a little depressed.
In the end, I still decided to fall back one step first, not push myself too hard, and let myself off the hook just a little.
Since I can't write, I might as well take today off, rest up properly, and pick the updates back up tomorrow.
Rekindle a bit of passion.
Tomorrow is my life's first bestseller recommendation — it's very important, and I hope it ends well.
Starting the day after tomorrow, I'll do a week of 6k daily updates, treating it as rest and recuperation; I'll update before 8 PM, so it won't be too exhausting, but I also won't let myself slack off completely.
Once that week is over, I should be fully recovered, and I'll have some saved drafts on hand too.
Then I can keep pushing hard on the bonus updates and pay off my debt!
During this time, I really hope everyone won't abandon me—
Please, I'm begging you!
Right now my biggest inner demon is that if I don't hit 10k words in updates, everyone will start hoarding the book.
It's a bit pathological, I know, but it really is the deepest anxiety in my heart — it's almost become my心病.
Big shots, I understand hoarding a book, but please don't hoard me to death—
For this situation, auto-subscription hoarding is the optimal solution — hoard the book, and the author won't collapse either.
Please—
Please, auto-subscribe!
Please, subscribe to everything!
Finally, one heartfelt piece of advice:
Don't stay up late! Don't stay up late! Don't stay up late!
