Chapter 83: How DARE You Hurt Him? (Bonus Chapter 44)
Who did this?
I’m asking you—WHO DID THIS!!?
Beep-beep-beep…
The sapphire on the Ring of Suffering had turned crimson, emitting a piercing, relentless sound—indicating the wearer’s spirit had reached its breaking point.
Herbert, watching Valentina’s slit pupils spewing fury, nearly consumed by rage, raised his hand and spoke haltingly:
“Uh, don’t get worked up—it’s just superficial wounds, mostly my own blood…”
Shit.
I think I went too far.
He wanted to slip away for a moment to let Valentina calm down, but she gripped his collar with iron force, leaving him no chance to escape.
“...Lead the way.”
Valentina’s voice was hoarse, thick with rage and a hint of regret Herbert couldn’t comprehend.
“Valentina, calm down first, I—”
Thud!
Valentina slammed her foot down hard; the entire space shuddered violently, cutting off Herbert’s words mid-sentence.
“I told you to—”
The furious dragon glared at him, roaring with almost tragic fury:
“LEAD THE WAY!!!”
In the Hell of Magma, the Magma Giant stood in the lava pool; its upper body was mountain-sized, composed of boiling lava and rock, radiating suffocating heat.
The Magma Giant stared blankly at its palm, confused as to where that little thing had gone.
The next instant, it snapped its head upward—there, a doorway had flashed and vanished into the sky.
The beast had arrived.
A terrifying dragon, a hundred meters long, descended from the heavens!
The dragon flapped its massive, resilient wings, stirring searing air currents; its scales shimmered with metallic luster under the lava’s glow, like flowing flame.
The dragon’s eyes burned like twin flames, fixed unblinkingly on the Magma Giant across from it.
A mad roar echoed through the entire space.
“How DARE you hurt him!!?”
No hesitation. No further words. The battle erupted instantly.
The Magma Giant hurled its magma ball at the dragon without delay.
Whoosh—
The dragon didn’t slow; it opened its jaws wide and unleashed a torrent of flame, engulfing the magma ball like a surging tide.
Hiss!
The cannonball-sized sphere melted at astonishing speed, shrinking to a quarter of its size within moments, then landed harmlessly on the dragon’s head.
The Magma Giant raised its massive arm; magma churned violently on its surface from the heat, attempting to block the dragon’s flames.
Flame met magma in a deafening explosion, sparks flying skyward.
“ROAR!!!”
The Magma Giant roared in fury, charging toward the dragon; each step cracked the ground deeply.
As it neared the dragon, it swung its colossal fist, howling through the air as it smashed downward.
The next instant, the two terrifying beasts collided head-on.
Boom!
Contact was instantaneous—the dragon twisted its body with agility, carving a graceful arc through the air, effortlessly dodging the deadly blow.
Then, after circling once in midair, it dove again, its razor-sharp claws glinting coldly in the light.
This time, its claws struck directly for the Magma Giant’s head!
The Magma Giant tried to block with its other arm, but the dragon’s strength was too great—the claws sank deep into the giant’s skull, spewing hot lava.
The Magma Giant reeled in agony, stumbling as the dragon bit into its head and swallowed it whole!
Crunch!
But the next moment, its magma-formed head regrew instantly.
It was merely a conglomeration—not its true core.
“ROAR!!!”
“ROAR!!!”
The Magma Giant and the frenzied dragon roared and danced in the lava pool.
Hidden within the Bronze Fortress, the devil watched everything in secret; she had been sulking moments ago, but now couldn’t help clapping and cheering.
“Yes! Yes!”
“That’s it!”
“Smash her skull to pieces!”
Boom!
As the Magma Giant recovered, the dragon struck again, flying behind it and unleashing another torrent of flame directly into its back, turning its body glowing red-hot.
After half its body had been melted away, twin razor-sharp claws pierced its chest; the dragon flared its wings and began dragging it slowly out of the lava pool!
Boom—
Amidst splattering molten rock, the Magma Giant was literally yanked out like a radish.
It thrashed in midair, trying to fight back, but each time its head was shattered by the dragon’s claws.
Finally, when it reached several hundred meters high, the dragon changed its flight path.
No longer ascending—it dove downward, dragging the giant with it!!
Whoosh—
It didn’t slow at all; it slammed into the lava pool together with the giant, driving it hard into the surface!!
BOOM!!!
With a thunderous, earth-shaking roar, the Magma Giant finally collapsed—its massive body could no longer coalesce.
The dragon flapped its wings from the lava pool, soaring into the sky, letting out a victorious roar.
“ROAR!!!”
Its silhouette, reflected in the lava pool, looked utterly majestic; its dark-red scales gleamed with dazzling brilliance.
Seeing this, the devil who had been cheering fell silent.
“...”
Because Crete suddenly realized—the dragon’s power seemed absurdly overpowered.
That demon was insane, yes, but its strength was no bluff—even if she fought it herself, she wouldn’t stand a chance.
But now, that demon was being crushed under the dragon’s claws?!
And… judging by the dragon’s intent, it seemed to have come here to avenge Herbert?
“Valentina.”
Herbert, looking disheveled, stood atop the Bronze Fortress, speaking softly to the dragon circling high above:
“Have you had enough? Calm down and go back.”
A massive doorway appeared in midair, revealing the ever-shifting labyrinth beyond.
The dragon narrowed its eyes, looking down with disdain at the puny human daring to command her.
After witnessing the majesty of the great Valentina, can you still not understand your place?!
But Herbert merely sighed helplessly, shaking his head softly: “Good girl. Listen.”
“Go back now. I’ll join you later.”
Crete: Wait, what the hell are you saying over there?
Such a proud, powerful being wouldn’t possibly… just because of such a casual phrase…
“Hmph!!!”
Yet, after hearing those words, the dragon rolled its eyes, let out a thunderous, irritated snort—and actually turned its head and vanished into the doorway without looking back.
Click.
As the dragon fully disappeared into the doorway, Herbert lowered his hand, sighed helplessly, and muttered to himself:
“This thing’s as loyal as a dog—but its temper’s as explosive as a cat… A magnificent dragon, yet somehow both cat and dog.”
Crete: ???
He ignored the devil’s half-spoken stare behind him and turned his gaze to the center of the deep crater in the lava pool.
There, where the Magma Giant’s heart had been, a massive crystal core now floated.
Inside the slowly shattering crystal core lay a small, unconscious figure.
“We finally meet again.”
Herbert lowered his gaze and whispered softly:
“Demon Miss…”
