Chapter 140: The Alien Race Seeks to Pasture Humans

"Brother of the Dao." Xiang Yuanjun appeared silently beside Xu Xing.

Clearly, she too had sensed that faint trace of qi leakage.

Xu Xing gave a slight nod in response: "The Alliance's methods are not weak—they managed to deceive us."

Though not deliberately probing, with both of their realms, a single glance could reveal most of even a Star Domain Warden's true nature.

Yet this time, they had only just perceived that faint trace of qi leakage.

Xiang Yuanjun gazed at the cultivator bound by white-gold rune chains, resembling a large cocoon: "After all, he has already touched that threshold—it is not surprising."

"I fear it is not the work of the Alliance."

"We must confirm it, then strengthen our defenses," said Xu Xing.

Gu would never watch passively as another human crosses that threshold.

"I will go myself."

My current state is unusual; even if someone in the Alliance has truly touched that boundary, they cannot detect me.

Perfect—I can also retrieve what Yuan left behind.

"Mm." Xiang Yuanjun nodded.

When Yuan had not yet vanished, the Orthodox Alliance did not resist the Star Domain Wardens.

But now, they refuse to venture into the starry void, even fear going there…

And all of this happened within just a few decades.

…………

Western Star Domain, Chi Yu Star System, Chifeng No. 47 Star System.

Somewhere on the fifth planet.

Mountains rolled in endless waves, vegetation lush, the roars of flying beasts and terrestrial predators rising and falling in chorus.

On a high cliff, a waterfall cascaded like a white ribbon, plunging into a deep pool, its mist refracting into a seven-colored rainbow.

Beside the deep pool, a small squad of an alien race was resting.

The air mingled the blue smoke of burning firewood and the aroma of cooked food with the fresh scent of river water, forming an unusual scene.

Wild beasts captured from the deep forest were dragged out, slaughtered, bled, eviscerated, skinned, and their meat cut into chunks and tossed into a giant cauldron.

From appearance, they were taller than humans, yet still had two arms and two legs, walking upright.

The shortest stood over two and a half meters; the tallest reached nearly five meters, like moving hills.

Their bodies were covered in a layer of dark brown carapace extending to their faces, their eyes indigo, fangs long and sharp, with two spiral black horns growing from their foreheads.

A closer look revealed that the higher their status, the less prominent their horns and the less of their body covered in carapace.

Humans called them the Fifth Jiajiao.

"Fifth" refers to their planet's position in the star system; "Jiajiao" describes their physical trait—simple and clear.

Their own name for their race, translated into human language, was—the Divine Grace Bestowed Supreme Sacred Horned Clan.

In short, they piled on whatever words sounded grandest.

By the pool, a Fifth Jiajiao with minimal carapace on his face and horns only three inches long sat atop a large rock.

In his hand he held an iron bowl filled with fragrant rice, atop which lay several cooked meat chops.

He pulled out a transparent glass bottle containing a dark brown liquid, now only a quarter full.

On the bottle's label were written several human characters—Jingyue Old Soy Sauce.

As if holding a treasure, he handled it with great care, pouring a small amount onto the cooked meat chops.

Before putting it away, he even licked the bottle's mouth.

"So delicious!"

This flavor reminded him of the human flesh he had once been given. No—human flesh was even better.

He deeply missed that incomparably savory taste, yet also felt great anticipation.

For the King had reached an agreement with the Sacred Clan.

After defeating the humans, each Horned Clan member would be granted a human pasture.

Human pastures—so many, so many humans! "Once I have my human pasture, I won't eat them all—I'll keep some to make this delicious thing for me."

"I can sell them to other Horned Clan members too."

"When more humans breed, I can build a human hunting ground."

"But before that, I must kill those hateful rebels for the King."

"Kill those hateful rebels, and the Sacred Clan's divine punishment will end!"

"The King is the true Chosen of Divine Grace!"

He was still dreaming of this bright future in his mind.

"Atuluelu! Atuluelu!" A Horned Clan member cried out in panic, pointing to the sky.

"Atu" was his name; "Luelu" meant squad leader.

He looked up and saw a meteor streaking with a fiery tail, piercing through the clouds, speeding toward them.

Clang! Blades flashed—dozens of sword qi interwove like a storm surging upward, colliding with the falling meteor.

Yet Atu's strike had no effect—the sword qi shattered instantly upon contact.

As the meteor neared, he could only shout for his subordinates to take cover.

Boom!!! The meteor struck the deep pool.

A wave over ten meters high erupted; an immense shockwave flung weaker Fifth Jiajiao into the air.

Atu, as squad leader and the strongest Fifth Jiajiao present, hid behind a boulder, and the pool's water dampened the impact—he suffered little.

His gaze pierced through the towering waves, fixing on the meteor's location.

A falling star?

No! That was clearly a human! A human?! A surge of wild joy rose in Atu's heart — a human had actually fallen from the sky! Was this a gift bestowed upon him by the great King!

He immediately tightened his grip on his long saber, his body bursting out from behind the great rock like a black streak tearing through a massive wave, the saber tip aimed straight at that human.

The saber tip drew closer and closer… he felt he could already taste the sweet, delicious flesh and blood of the human.

In the next instant, Atu saw that human turn his head and glance at him.

Then came an endless flood of blood-red, nearly filling everything in his field of vision.

Boom!

The wave crashed down, surging outward in all directions, trees snapping, birds and beasts fleeing.

The scene was like a mountain collapsing.

Some of the relatively capable Fifth Jiajiao tribesmen had not fled too far; as the great wave surged outward, they too saw the scene within the deep pool.

They saw a human standing with sword in hand, treading upon the surface of the deep pool that had gathered anew, the crystalline blade of his ice sword radiating a faint cold aura.

A human?

A human?! Just like Atu, wild joy surged in the heart of every Fifth Jiajiao tribesman, believing this was a gift bestowed upon them by the great King.

They shouted things like "Thanks be to the great King" and "Thanks be to the great Holy Race," each one scrambling to be first, afraid that if they moved too slowly a companion would beat them to it.

"The Fifth Jiajiao Tribe…"

They saw that human raise his head and look at them, his eyes utterly calm, as if before him were merely a herd of livestock awaiting slaughter.
