Chapter 13: Biting Her Little Ear

~4 min read 654 words

Nan Qinghuan wanted to snatch the bag, but seeing Ying's terrifying gaze she recoiled; after a hard struggle the wild man stopped forcing her, and she must not anger him again.

But the bag is gone; now if she goes out she will truly die.

The bag contained a compass and all the tools for survival; now she's trapped here, neither dying nor living.

Ying, seeing that she remained silent, suddenly lunged forward, and Nan Qinghuan let out a scream, "Ah…".

He merely lay on her without moving, bringing his mouth to her ear; he likes to bite her little ear, finding it especially tasty.

"Keep running…"

His gaze was like that of a feral beast, a wicked grin curling his mouth, "Break a leg".

Keep running, break a leg.

This is Ying's stern warning to her; fortunately this wild man isn't a complete brute and hasn't violated her. She still thought he was a gentleman, but he replied, "I'll wait until you get fatter before continuing."

Hearing that, she felt a desire to die.

She had been, in the modern world, a renowned paleontologist; to study fossils she had traveled all over the country. She never imagined that, now trapped in the Remote Antiquity Era, she would become a breeding tool for a wild man. The knowledge she possessed and the gender‑equal education she received made her unwilling to be reduced to a child‑bearing instrument. Though warned that if she kept running she would break a leg, she was inherently tough; as long as she seized a chance, she would still try to run.

These past few days Nan Qinghuan couldn't go anywhere; Ying seemed to have some business and left her alone in the Cave. Yet she couldn't leave at will, because outside he had sent a wild wolf to guard her. Yes, a purebred wild wolf, ferociously vicious. This ancient wild wolf differs from modern ones; they are tall and have astonishing bite force. She had secretly gone to see that wolf—it was the extinct Siberian wild wolf, which perished in the Cretaceous due to volcanic eruptions. She didn't expect it to reappear here, and this ancient hunting master had become Ying's watchdog, specifically watching over her.

Unable to leave, she could only move within this dilapidated Cave; since she was here, she made the best of it. She had to tidy her dwelling, so over the past few days she cleaned the Cave, had Axi gather some wildflowers, and the Cave finally acquired a hint of human presence.

A Mu hasn't come for several days; presumably she is also disappointed in her son.

She found Ying's words to be absolute and domineering; no one could persuade him, not even his mother.

In short, unlucky her, she encountered a stubborn, overbearing, highly controlling, ruthless wild man.

The food here is also very simple; when hungry, Axi brings her roasted meat, sometimes some fish, etc. To be honest, the meat has no Salt, no flavor at all, it's terribly tasteless, so these past few days she and Axi have taken turns eating: Axi eats the meat while she eats fruit.

"Qinghuan…"

From outside came Axi's cautious voice; Axi had come again to deliver food.

Nan Qinghuan, seeing her arrive, got up and walked to the Bonfire to sit down; this wild man's Cave lacks nothing in terms of a Bonfire, which burns twenty‑four hours a day. In A Yue's words, fire is a gift from the gods and must be kept going, never extinguished.

"Qinghuan, aren't you happy?"

Axi noticed that ever since Qinghuan was captured by Ying and brought back, she hasn't been very happy.

Nan Qinghuan's gaze longs for the world outside the Cave; the sunlight outside is just right, and she wishes she could go out for a walk and breathe some fresh air.

"Axi, why is it so lively outside, can I go out to take a look?"
