Chapter 137: Extracting the Old Beastman's Teeth
Inside the cramped thatched hut, a man taller than Rongdi sat cross‑legged on a bamboo mat. He was broad‑shouldered, with eyes the size of copper bells, a flat nose, a pointed chin, and his mouth was soaked with fresh blood.
At his feet lay some human bones that had been gnawed, a gruesome sight, and the man stared at her blankly; his terrifying expression almost made Nan Qinghuan want to turn and run.
So damn gory!
Rong Guang's gaze locked onto the petite Nan Qinghuan; seeing her fear, he twitched the corner of his mouth, looked up at Rongdi, and leisurely spat out a bone, "Is it her?"
Rongdi stepped forward and gave a slight bow to Rong Guang, "Father, it's her; she is Heaven's Daughter Nan Qinghuan."
"Heaven's Daughter?"
Rong Guang suddenly stood, lunged forward, grabbed Nan Qinghuan by the collar, and effortlessly lifted her whole body. Nan Qinghuan dared not move, only shouting, "Let go of me."
Nan Qinghuan hadn't expected Rongdi's father to be so tall; he actually lifted her up, leaving her neither above nor below.
"You let go, let go."
"Father, let her go; she's here to treat you, let her examine you."
"Treat you? Just because of her?"
Rong Guang scanned Nan Qinghuan, seeming to doubt whether she truly possessed such ability. Nan Qinghuan was about to say she could show him, when suddenly Rong Guang felt a sharp cramp in his abdomen, dropped Nan Qinghuan in one swift motion, and as she was about to hit the ground, Rongdi reached out and caught her.
"Are you okay?"
She didn't want to stay close to Rongdi, so she quickly moved away; when she recovered, Rong Guang was already rolling on the ground in pain.
That appearance was completely different from the terrifying look earlier.
Nan Qinghuan straightened up, coldly watching his suffering, a smile curling at the corner of her mouth: "Serves you right; who told you you could eat people and die in pain?"
"Nan Qinghuan, what are you waiting for? Show me my father."
While Nan Qinghuan was preparing to treat him, Rong Guang had already passed out from the pain. Seeing that he was incapacitated, Nan Qinghuan finally turned to look behind her, "Rongdi, clear these people out; I don't like being disturbed while treating."
"What scheme are you, a female, plotting?"
The Shamaness was somewhat worried that Nan Qinghuan might act recklessly; Nan Qinghuan simply looked at Rongdi, a harmless smile at the corner of her mouth, "Rongdi, if you trust me I'll treat him; if you don't, I'll leave right now."
Rongdi was initially concerned, but thinking that if she dared to cause trouble she couldn't leave, he gave her a deep look and nodded, "Fine, I trust you. Everyone out."
As they were about to leave, Rongdi suddenly thought of something, then leaned down and whispered in her ear, appearing caring but actually a warning.
"Don't try any tricks, or I'll eat you."
She inhaled sharply, "Out."
With a creak, the wooden door slammed shut; she then walked step by step toward Rongdi's father, the ground littered with human corpses, a sight that was truly shocking.
She could no longer worry about that, and reached Rong Guang's side; the man looked about forty years old, a Giant, a man‑eating Giant.
She crouched, took Rong Guang's pulse, and quickly identified the ailment: intestinal cramps caused by eating human flesh, a pain that could kill.
She was now calm, because the man's life was in her hands; she had originally intended to kill him so no one else would be eaten, but she also knew that killing him would trap her as well.
Outside, Rongdi and his men were guarding; she had to devise a solution that let the man live yet stop him from eating people.
Suddenly a flash of inspiration struck her.
Got it.
She silently invoked a space, and soon the Plane Mall materialized inside the hut; the space had been upgraded to Tier 4, allowing her to exchange from the mall a single dose of anesthetic and a sharp, translucent pair of pliers.
A fine needle pierced Rongdi's father's vessel; suddenly Rong Guang seemed to sense danger, his body tried to thrash, but was futile, and the sight made Nan Qinghuan break out in sweat.
Fortunately her professional composure kept her calm; the syringe's fluid entered his body quickly, and Rong Guang fell into a death‑like sleep.
Having completed all this, she finally breathed a sigh of relief, then lifted the pliers to clamp Rong Guang's massive mouth; inside, a row of sharp teeth were exposed, still stained with human flesh.
She felt disgusted, grasped the largest tooth with the pliers, slammed her hands together, and with a bang the tooth snapped off, blood gushing.
She seemed to have found a rhythm, moving on to the second, third, fourth… Soon all of Rong Guang's sharp teeth were stripped clean, leaving only a red gum line, turning him into a toothless Beastman.
The ground was littered with teeth; these Ancient People's teeth were much longer and sharper than modern ones. She pulled them out with great effort, and after finishing, a sense of vengeful pleasure surged within her.
She reached out and patted Rong Guang's face, "Now see what you'll eat with."
After doing all this, she looked for a chance to escape and find Ying, wondering what had become of the wolf clan; she glanced at a window, hurried forward to peek, but the view made her despair.
Damn it, it's so high; falling would kill me, and there are no vines to climb down.
What to do? Suddenly, she surveyed the interior and found only a few vines; when she lifted them, they were too short, only reaching halfway—no good, she couldn't get out.
What to do? While she was anxious, a voice came from outside, Rongdi calling, "Nan Qinghuan, are you okay? I'm coming in."
She quickly tossed the vines onto the floor; Rongdi kicked in, saw her standing by the window, looking at his father lying on the ground.
"Father."
He saw the ground covered with many blood‑stained teeth.
"Nan Qinghuan, what's going on?"
Nan Qinghuan hurried forward, touched her nose, and gave a flimsy excuse, "Here's the thing: I gave your father medicine, but this medicine causes teeth to fall out, so they're all gone."
"What did you say? All the teeth are gone?"
"But don't worry, his stomach won't hurt; I've already given him painkillers."
Actually she hadn't; she only administered anesthetic. When the man woke, the anesthetic would still be in effect, and if he said he didn't feel pain, she could escape. Yet she still didn't want to save this Beastman, because he had eaten too many people.
Rongdi gave her a deep look, seeming to doubt her words; the Shamaness outside also didn't believe Nan Qinghuan's medical skill could cure the leader, so she stepped forward, "Leader, any medicine won't work; the old leader is probably dead."
"Dead? Come see, your master is fine."
"You…"
"Enough shouting, Nan Qinghuan can't run away, father will definitely wake up. Nan Qinghuan, come out with me; Shamaness, tend to father."
Nan Qinghuan was eager to leave; after going out with Rongdi, he actually led her to a towering cliff.
Here a pale mist drifted, clouds swirling around her legs; she didn't understand why Rongdi brought her here, "Hey, why did you bring me to this cliff?"
Rongdi stepped closer, his eyes burning, making her uneasy; she warned, "Don't come any closer; if you do, I'll jump."
She knew Rongdi's feelings toward her, but the man she loved was Ying; Rongdi was forever impossible!
Seeing her so frightened, Rongdi's eyes flashed with a hint of loss, then he truly halted his steps; his voice carried a faint hoarseness, yet oddly pleasant.
They spread their arms, striking a pose of ruling the world, and said smugly, "I want to show you how powerful my Rongdi Tribe is. The place you stand now, every inch of land you can see, belongs to my Rongdi. Nan Qinghuan, do you think I'm impressive?"
