Chapter 24: Kneel and Sing of Conquest

Nan Qinghuan, however, twisted the Silver Needle slowly and unhurriedly; soon, a miracle appeared under her hand, and Xuan's fingers, which had been as thin as a wisp of breath, began to move gradually.

"Ah, Xuan, she's alive!"

When those words were spoken, the tribe members all rubbed their eyes in disbelief—could a dead person be revived? Gradually, Xuan opened her eyes, the blood beneath her stopped flowing, and only then did Nan Qinghuan pull the Silver Needle out and place it into the Silver Needle pouch.

"Omu…"

Xuan surprisingly called out to her, and Axi was delighted, "Xuan, you're awake?"

"Thank you, Omu, for saving our mother and child. Shamaness, Omu is a good person."

"Great, Xuan is alive."

A few wild men suddenly fell to their knees before Nan Qinghuan with a thud, "Thank you, Omu, thank you."

"Hey, don't kneel to me; get up quickly, bring her something tasty, don't let her sleep on the stone, the mother needs to stay warm."

She didn't know whether the men understood, and when Axi saw her speaking, she hurried to translate, "Everyone get up, take good care of Xuan. Qinghuan, you're amazing."

"Ah, could it be that Qinghuan truly is a goddess sent by the Heavenly God to save us?"

"He's not the Plague God; Shamaness, you saw it—Omu is not the Plague God."

"Nan Qinghuan, the old man misunderstood you; I didn't expect you weren't the Plague God. Lamu and I apologize to you."

As he spoke, the Old Clan Leader moved to perform a ceremony for her, but Nan Qinghuan didn't want them to worship her: "Hey, Old Clan Leader, that won't do. Healing and saving lives is already my duty; now that the mother and child are safe, that's their blessing and the Tribe's fortune, and it has nothing to do with me."

"We almost burned you to death just now, sorry."

The tribe members actually apologized to her, and she suddenly felt these savages weren't so hard to get along with. Though they had just tried to burn her, they were incited by A Yue; these Ancient People lack culture and naturally only trust what the gods say, so she wouldn't hold it against them.

"Everyone, go back; it's all settled."

A Yue saw the tribe members all believing in Nan Qinghuan's medical skill; she stomped in anger but dared not say anything, slinking away in a sullen mood.

Seeing A Yue trying to slip away, Nan Qinghuan coldly called out, "A Yue, stop right there."

A Yue was startled but still halted; the tribe members looked at her with contempt, "The Shamaness's skill is not even as strong as Omu's; you, Shamaness, should quit."

"A Gou, what did you say?"

A Yue hadn't expected the tribe members to erase her past deeds of saving lives over a single incident; she glared fiercely at Nan Qinghuan, "You're not a Shamaness; where did you get the skill to save people?"

"A Yue, don't be the first to accuse the villain here; I was clear just now—if I can save the mother and child safely, I want you and I to kneel and apologize."

A Yue, however, changed her mind: "Kneel? Who do you think you are? Even Ying can't make me kneel. I, A Yue, am the tribe's Shamaness, a Shamaness bestowed by the Heavenly God. Nan Qinghuan, what are you?"

Although Ying gave her the title, she didn't accept his Omu identity; in the Tribe, Omu can only be A Yue!

Axi, seeing they were about to fight, hurriedly whispered, "Qinghuan, the Shamaness is the Tribe's female witch; by the rules you can't make her kneel."

"I don't care whether she's a witch or some damn Shamaness; today my words must be kept. A Yue, you just said it in front of the tribe—how can you take back what you said?"

Nan Qinghuan had long wanted to deal with this woman, first crushing her prestige before speaking.

"A Yue, although you are a Shamaness, you truly misunderstood Qinghuan tonight; she may not have received a divine summons, but she saved the tribe members. You should kneel and apologize to her."

"Clan Leader, what are you saying? That I should kneel with this foreign White-skinned Female?"
