Chapter 6: Who Dares to Bully Her

~4 min read 651 words

Ying glared at Axi, "She is my female; anyone who dares to bully her, I'll throw her to the wolves. Got it?"

"Yes."

"Everyone out."

Mother knew her son's temper, but this female could not be kept.

"Ying, Axi is for your own good; this woman's body is frail and near death."

"She won't die."

Ying immediately went to Nan Qinghuan's side, hugged her tightly. He had only been out a moment—how did it become like this? Nan Qinghuan, still dazed from the fire, lifted her head, looked at Ying dully, her voice much softer, a pitiful look, "I'm hungry."

She was both hungry and exhausted, feeling as if she were about to die.

Seeing her speak softly to him, Ying's heart oddly ached.

"Go get it."

Quickly, Axi brought up a heart, one that only Ying's female could enjoy; seeing it was raw, Nan Qinghuan sighed helplessly, "Can it be roasted?"

"Cooked?"

Ying quickly understood, "Axi, roast it."

The cave constantly blazed with a Bonfire, and soon, after the heart was roasted, it had no smell yet tasted oddly delicious. Watching Nan Qinghuan wolf down the food, Ying's mouth curled into a pleasant smile.

"Are you full?"

After swallowing a fresh heart, the taste was mediocre but at least not raw; she nodded weakly to indicate she was full, "I think I have a fever. Could you fetch some Bupleurum for me? Do you know it?"

She now lacked strength; her stamina was gone, and she needed to preserve her life, so she was so compliant—after all, survival depended on this man.

"Bupleurum?"

Ying naturally didn't know what Bupleurum was, when Mother suddenly said, "Is it a kind of herb? I've seen A Yue use it for the tribe."

Seeing Mother knew a bit of medicine, she hurriedly nodded, "Please, Mother, bring it for me to see."

Quickly, Mother returned; when she saw that leaf was Bupleurum, she knew she was saved, "Thank you, please help me brew it into a soup."

She didn't know whether they understood; if it failed, she'd do it herself.

Fortunately, Mother placed the Herbal Medicine in a pitch‑black jar, which turned out to be a stone pot; they had no cookware here, yet a natural stone pot was available.

Soon, after a bowl of Bupleurum soup went down, she let out a hot sweat and felt much more comfortable.

Axi, seeing her improve, finally smiled, "Mother, can this herb also cure illnesses?"

Mother remained silent, and Nan Qinghuan didn't want to reply to Axi; Axi didn't like her, and she had no affection for Axi either, but Mother was quite nice.

Mother, is she this wildman's mother? Ying, still holding her, saw her puzzled gaze and quickly nodded, "She is my mother; her name is Axi."

"Is this an introduction for her?" "Alright."

"Ying, don't forget the evening mating fire ceremony."

Mother's reminder reached Ying, but he made no move; after Mother and the others left, Ying gently set her down, "Feeling better?"

Fortunately, although this is the Remote Antiquity Era, language communication is fine.

"Can you find me a piece of clothing?"

"Clothing?"

Ying didn't understand what clothing was; Nan Qinghuan hurriedly said, "Where is my bag?"

The bag contains her change of clothes; she can't stay here forever without clothing, can she? Ying looked at her body's aura, which was somewhat scorching; he wanted to press this little female down fiercely, but recalling how weak she had just been, he restrained himself.

He whistled, and suddenly, outside a huge Mammoth walked toward them. The beast stood about two meters tall, with sturdy legs, four‑toed feet, a particularly large head and no lower tusks.

The creature's back bore her bag.

The creature blinked its eyes as it came to Ying's side, crouched slightly, looking very obedient, as if awaiting his command.

Seeing the creature, Nan Qinghuan almost jumped up, blurting, "A real Mammoth?"
