Chapter 12: Nami
Time passed slowly, and in the blink of an eye, half a month had gone by.
After dumping the negotiation matters on Black Rabbit, Lin Que entered a state of slacking off.
Every day, he used the money obtained from selling the Divinity to wander around, finding simple and brutal Gift Games to win the championship.
When he couldn't find a suitable Gift Game and was bored, he would tease Black Rabbit, who happened to be in the community, or play with the children.
The days were very leisurely, making Black Rabbit, who was running around everywhere trying to borrow money and was almost sleep-deprived, envious enough to cry.
Just when Lin Que thought these leisurely days would continue until the day the auction started, someone in the chat group suddenly tagged him.
Thief Cat: "@Sea King, is Lin Que there?"
After half a month of high-intensity chatting, the others in the chat group noticed that Lin Que was very approachable.
They no longer added honorifics when calling him, unlike half a month ago.
Sea King: "I'm here, what's up?"
Thief Cat: "It’s about that thing I mentioned to you before. Do you have time now?"
Sea King: "You’ve already gathered enough points so quickly?"
Lin Que was a bit surprised.
The matter Nami spoke of was naturally asking him to take action to deal with the evil dragon and others who were occupying her hometown.
Lin Que didn't have anything urgent on hand, so he didn't refuse at the time.
But traveling to a world requires 1000 points, and currently, the only way to get points in the group is by checking in.
Lin Que originally thought the other party would only be able to gather enough points after the auction ended.
He didn't expect them to have saved up 1000 points so quickly.
Sea King: "You wouldn't happen to be checking in every day for 70 or 80 points, would you?"
Thief Cat: "Not really, it was mainly thanks to Kaguya and Asuna’s help."
Book-chan: "My North North North Side is a very peaceful world, and I’m not in a hurry to use points, so I just lent them to Nami."
Kaguya-sama: "Same here."
Sea King: "I see."
Three people saving points together—that makes much more sense.
[Group member "Thief Cat" sent an exclusive red envelope.]
[Group member "Sea King" claimed the exclusive red envelope.]
After claiming the red envelope Nami sent, the points in Lin Que’s hand rose to over 1400.
[Group member 'Thief Cat' started a live stream.]
[Sea King joined the live stream.]
[Book-chan joined the live stream.]
[Kaguya-sama joined the live stream.]
As Nami started the live stream, a beauty with fair skin and short orange hair appeared on the screen.
Nami: "Wow! Is this Nami? So pretty!"
Kaguya-sama: "This is... on the sea?"
Thief Cat: "Yeah, didn't I tell you guys before? My current identity is a pirate."
Standing on the top of a sailboat, Nami gazed at the island gradually appearing in the distance.
Thief Cat: "Lin Que, you don't need to rush over."
Thief Cat: "I want to avenge myself, so I’ll try to take action first." ===== CHAPTER 23 =====
Thief Cat: "If it succeeds, those 1000 points will be given to you as a base reward; if it fails, you come save me."
Sea King: "Good."
"You've been gone for a long time this time, Nami."
On a massive throne, Arlong looked at Nami walking toward him.
His long, serrated nose swayed up and down, and his split mouth, along with his equally serrated teeth, made him as terrifying as a monster.
"How was the harvest this time?"
"I made a huge profit~ Look!"
Nami lifted the large backpack in her hand and shook it up and down.
"There are just too many idiots on the sea; there was absolutely no pressure."
"Sha-ha-ha~ That can't be blamed on them!"
Arlong let out a loud laugh: "There are really too few people as good at betrayal as you!"
"Well~ I guess so."
Nami shrugged: "Speaking of which, I got something good this time. Do you want to take a look?"
"Oh?"
Arlong narrowed his eyes: "What is it?"
"Something that can blow you to bits, you bastard!"
Like a face-changing performance in Peking Opera, Nami, who was smiling a second ago, suddenly roared and threw the backpack in her hand at Arlong with all her might.
With the boost from her enhanced physical fitness, the backpack crossed a distance of over ten meters in an instant and landed in front of Arlong.
"Hmm?"
The moment the backpack hit the ground, the smell of burning sulfur began to spread in the air.
After realizing what was inside the backpack, Arlong's eyes widened sharply.
"Explosives?!"
Boom—!
A deafening explosion rang out, and a terrifying shockwave spread in all directions along with the sound.
A huge hole was blown into the massive palace, and rubble fell from the sky.
Standing at the entrance of the palace, having retreated the moment she threw the explosives, Nami stared fixedly ahead.
"Did it work?"
What she had just thrown wasn't ordinary explosive.
It was a special explosive kindly gifted by Kochou Shinobu after she had talked about her situation in the group.
According to her, it was obtained from a companion named Uzui Tengen, and its power was enough to injure a Lower Moon demon.
Although she didn't know how strong a Lower Moon demon was, Nami had tested it once and found that the power of these marble-sized bombs was indeed not weak.
That was why she had the idea to strike first and see if she could take out Arlong.
"You really disappoint me, Nami."
Amidst the thick smoke, a voice filled with suppressed anger suddenly rang out.
The sound of heavy footsteps echoed, and Arlong's tall figure suddenly appeared in front of Nami.
Nami's expression sank: "It failed."
Despite enduring that terrifying explosion at close range, Arlong was almost completely unaffected.
From head to toe, only his tattered clothes proved that he hadn't dodged the blast.
"I actually thought highly of you; I thought you were a smart person."
Carrying a large saw-blade he had pulled out from somewhere, Arlong looked at Nami expressionlessly.
"Tell me, why did you do this?"
"Did the explosion fry your brain, Arlong?"
Nami wore a sarcastic smile: "What I'm best at is betrayal."
