Chapter 52: Pokémon of the Multiverse: Starting from Hunter x Hunter, Chapter 20
"There, this is it. Give it a try."
Biscuit crossed her arms and stepped back two paces to give Luo Ge room to perform his technique.
Shizuku watched Luo Ge with worried eyes, fearing something might go wrong.
Although Machi was worried, her intuition told her that Luo Ge could handle it, so she didn't show it.
Even though neither of them knew [Nen], just standing there, they felt gusts of cold wind blowing past.
It was far more uncomfortable than the cold wind stirred up by a Gastly, as if an abyss lay ahead.
The Death Nen wasn't a fixed thing; it was like clusters of black mist stirred by the wind, just two or three meters in front of Luo Ge.
Strands of dancing black smoke were like countless tentacles, eager to drag people in and devour them.
Wisps of cold air permeated their hearts, as if they were in an ice bath, or as if a basin of cold water had been poured over their heads.
The scene deeper inside was like a swamp, covered in pitch-black, viscous, resentful death energy, emitting a cold and eerie aura.
Luo Ge’s mind stirred, and a black shadow appeared beside him—it was Gastly, surrounded by black mist.
"Hehehe..."
Seeing the dense Death Nen, Gastly’s pale, lifeless eyes suddenly lit up.
Like a child who had received a lot of candy, it "bounced around" happily.
[A materialized Nen beast?]
[I didn't expect him to have already developed a Nen ability.]
Biscuit’s eyes narrowed. She realized she could see Gastly without using [Gyo], so it was likely a Conjuration-type Nen beast.
She assumed Luo Ge intended to use this dark-aura Nen beast to clear the Death Nen.
However, she was even more surprised that Luo Ge had already developed a Nen ability; he must have had someone teaching him.
Why then would he want to apprentice under her?
While Biscuit was puzzled, Gastly couldn't wait to stick out its large tongue and lick the Death Nen like a lollipop.
"Hehe..."
Delicious, delicious...
In no time, Gastly had bitten a hole in the Death Nen cluster, but the quantity was so vast that new energy quickly filled the gap.
However, the purpose of coming here was just to test if Luo Ge could exorcise Nen, and that goal had been achieved.
Biscuit was silent for a moment, then asked: "Luo Ge, have you had a Master before? Or has someone taught you [Nen]?"
Luo Ge shook his head; he had no Master: "No, I don't have a Master."
"Although it’s a coincidence, I am indeed a natural-born Nen user. I awakened it suddenly on my own."
[He’s actually a natural-born Nen user?]
Biscuit’s pupils contracted. Now she understood why Luo Ge could exorcise Nen and why he wanted to apprentice under her.
She had found a treasure!
Biscuit’s thought wasn't an exaggeration.
Natural-born Nen users were extremely rare, once-in-a-lifetime finds, and their Nen abilities usually had high potential or powerful effects.
Neon in the original story was a natural-born Nen user; she hadn't been exposed to [Nen] beforehand, but because she loved fortune-telling and had the relevant talent,
she awakened a Nen ability that allowed her to predict the future through poetry, telling others what would happen in the next month or so.
Luo Ge’s Nen ability had appeared the moment he arrived in the Hunter world, so calling him a natural-born Nen user was accurate.
Biscuit patted Luo Ge on the shoulder, acting very familiar and happy:
"Hahaha, good job, my eldest disciple. If you have any trouble in the future, just come to your Master."
As she spoke, Biscuit patted her chest and flashed a set of white teeth, showing none of the annoyance she had displayed earlier.
Not to mention the other two girls, Luo Ge alone was worth her taking all three of them on.
A Nen Exorcist, a natural-born Nen user, upright character, handsome guy... of course she had to take such disciples.
"Hehe..."
Before they could chat for long, Gastly floated beside Luo Ge, looking exhausted and lacking appetite.
It turned out Gastly’s ability was limited; after eating a portion, it needed time to digest before it could continue devouring Death Nen.
While digesting, the Death Nen would also strengthen Gastly’s power.
"So that’s how it is. But being able to handle so much Death Nen is already very impressive."
Biscuit didn't mind at all.
There was indeed a lot of Death Nen in the Dolok Ruins; asking Luo Ge to solve it alone would be asking too much.
She was already prepared to give up on the gems inside the Dolok Ruins and focus on the "gem" in front of her.
The "gems" Biscuit liked had two meanings.
One was the gemstones commonly recognized by the public.
The other was people.
She compared geniuses who had talent but hadn't been unearthed or undergone systematic training to [Rough Stones].
Meaning they were stones that hadn't been polished yet.
Only after being polished could a rough stone become a dazzling gemstone, and Biscuit enjoyed the process of polishing.
Driven by interest, she would teach those people, helping them develop their potential until they became outstanding "gemstones."
She wasn't sure about Machi and Shizuku yet, but Biscuit was certain that Luo Ge was a superior rough stone!
