Chapter 45: Ability: Scrappy! Chasing and Blocking! (2/5, Seeking Data)

A few days later,

in the villa of the Elara family,

Luo Ge stayed in a gym, continuously lifting dumbbells in his hands, his standard form tracing arcs in the air.

Zhu Di was dressed as a secretary, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, reporting recent developments beside Luo Ge.

"Currently, the situation in Manhak City is under our control; the other gangs can no longer stir up trouble."

"Ever since our great victory in the battle a few days ago, there has been no organized gang left in the entire Manhak City."

"At the same time, we took this opportunity to recruit some people, greatly expanding the gang and extending our reach to several other cities."

"Besides that, the reputation of the Griffin has spread far and wide; many gangs know our family is not to be trifled with and have all extended olive branches."

"They want to cooperate and increase exchanges."

Zhu Di adjusted her glasses, occasionally glancing at Luo Ge's muscular physique while reporting.

Recalling life over the past month, she felt a dreamlike illusion; everything had gone so smoothly it was hard to imagine.

At first, she thought taking over the entire Elara family would be difficult, after all, external enemies were watching hungrily.

She never expected that after encountering these difficulties, Luo Ge would casually solve them all with a single move, even creating the urban legend of the 【Mysterious Phantom】.

Now that this legend exists, the locals are actually quite afraid and dare not walk at night.

But spreading the word instead attracted many tourists who wanted to see this so-called 【Mysterious Phantom】.

Finally, a few lucky ones experienced Gastly's pranks and got successfully scared.

This also kept the heat of the 【Mysterious Phantom】 high.

Later, when Luo Ge tamed the powerful monster Griffin, he firmly established the family's status in the final war.

She also completely saw why this man before her was so unafraid; it was the confidence brought by strength.

Besides that, what Zhu Di also admired was Luo Ge's great ambition; even with such powerful strength, he still exercised every day.

Perhaps it was because of this attitude that made him so strong?

While Luo Ge was exercising, the Nidorino on the other side was also working out, though it was running on a treadmill.

"Mmm~"

After running for a while, Nidorino let out a few low cries, as if cheering itself on to run a bit longer.

"Hehe~"

Gastly would occasionally float in and out beside Nidorino, making faces and trying to prank it.

But all were ignored by the focused Nidorino; once entering training mode, Nidorino was extremely devoted.

"Hehe..."

Seeing no reaction to the pranks, Gastly felt like crying but couldn't, turned down its mouth corners, and floated lightly away from Nidorino.

Gastly didn't want to play with it anymore.

While exercising, Luo Ge also occasionally paid attention to Nidorino; seeing Gastly leave, he smiled quietly.

Then he continued exercising and recalled recent gains.

In this month, he also obtained many good things, among which the number of items was still the largest.

What surprised Luo Ge was that the items obtained in this gang environment were mostly 【Recovery Items】.

Namely 【Antidote】, 【Potion】... and the like.

Perhaps because gang members get injured often?

However, ordinary recovery items like 【Potion】 are prone to appearing; he had often obtained them back in Meteor City.

So it was not surprising.

Regarding items, besides various 【Recovery Items】 and odds and ends, Luo Ge felt the three things with the highest value were these.

First was the 【Black Glasses】.

【Black Glasses】: An eyewear similar to sunglasses; wearing it enhances Dark-type moves' power by 20%.

Like the item 【Poison Sting】, 【Black Glasses】 is also an attribute-boosting item that can increase Dark-type power.

And in this month here, Luo Ge obtained two 【Black Glasses】; after testing, he reached a new conclusion.

Whether human or Pokémon, multiple items can be used simultaneously.

For example, these two 【Black Glasses】, if carried at the same time, would increase Dark-type moves' power by 40%.

Of course, they do not need to be worn on the face; his items are essentially composed of psychic energy, and as long as they are placed nearby, they merge into the body.

This counts as using the item.

This was a startling discovery; it means as long as he has them, he can stack them crazily on himself.

By then, it might even be possible to forcibly multiply a move's power several times over.

However, such items are relatively rare and not easy to obtain.

And for his current self, even with a 40% power boost, it still wouldn't have much effect.

But this is indeed a very good discovery.

The second item was a 【TM】.

As the name suggests, this is an item containing skill-learning data; whether he himself or a Pokémon can learn from it.

However, since many Pokémon skills require special organs, such as head horns, tails, etc.

Luo Ge cannot learn every skill.

Besides items, abilities and skills were also newly acquired.

The ability 【Scrappy】 was obtained.

【Scrappy】: With this ability, even Normal-type and Fighting-type moves can hit Ghost-types.

This is a good ability; in the Hunter World, there are many eerie things; with this ability, he can attack enemies more easily.

He acquired the skills 【Pursuit】 and 【Block】.

【Pursuit】 needs no explanation; it is a Dark-type skill of ordinary power, but its power doubles when the enemy shows signs of retreating.

Luo Ge also used this skill to test the effect of the 【Black Glasses】.

【Block】 is different; this skill is comparable to 【Protect】 and is an excellent defensive skill.

Once activated, a barrier appears on the body's surface for a short time, blocking any attack from the enemy.

If the enemy touches the barrier, their defense will drop significantly.

The only drawback is that using 【Block】 consumes a considerable amount of psychic energy, and each time it is used, the probability of using it again decreases.

Except for the first time, it does not succeed every single use.
