Chapter 64: Anime Crossover: Pokémon - Starting from Hunter x Hunter, Chapter 24

Eevee's ears twitched, then its gaze fixed on the Energy Cube in Luo Ge's hand.

Immediately, a sweet scent drifted over, like a Pokémon circling around it, causing it to instinctively step forward.

"Ee~vee~"

Eevee's eyes grew hazy; as it sniffed with its little black nose, it walked slowly toward Luo Ge, and even its cry changed.

Hmm, good, another foodie.

Luo Ge smiled as he watched Eevee approach bit by bit until it finally reached him and swallowed the Energy Cube in one gulp.

Seeing Eevee's intoxicated expression, Luo Ge felt even more that making Energy Cubes was a good thing.

At least it would be easier to "lure" Pokémon afterward.

"Eevee, do you still want to eat that thing just now?"

"If you become my partner, you can eat it often; eat as much as you want."

Luo Ge spoke gently while taking out a gorgeous-looking 【Luxury Ball】 and teasing Eevee with it.

"Eevee~"

Eevee, not yet clear on the situation, lightly tapped the button of the 【Luxury Ball】 with its small paw, which had pink pads.

A flash of red light passed, and Eevee entered the 【Luxury Ball】; after two simple shakes, a chime sounded.

"Ding-dong~"

Eevee has been caught!

Luo Ge looked at the 【Luxury Ball】 in his hand and couldn't help but feel a bit emotional; who would have thought that going for a run would result in finding an Eevee?

Then Luo Ge released Eevee.

"Eevee."

As soon as Eevee appeared, it wiped its face with its small paw and then happily threw itself into Luo Ge's arms.

Luo Ge rubbed Eevee's smooth fur; he had to admit the texture was really good.

If it were winter, letting Eevee coil around his neck like a scarf would be very comfortable.

"From now on, we are partners, my little Eevee."

Luo Ge squeezed Eevee's small paw, planning to let Eevee bring him good luck.

He had not yet activated his Nen ability today.

Then several pieces of information flooded into his mind.

"Obtained item 【Miracle Seed】"

"Obtained ability 【Guts】"

"Obtained TM 【Protect】."

Another golden drop!

Luo Ge immediately realized he had gotten something good and hurriedly looked down one by one.

The first was the item 【Miracle Seed】, just like the items 【Toxic Spike】 and 【Black Glasses】.

The Miracle Seed is also an attribute-boosting item, except it boosts the power of Grass-type moves.

This item is quite good, but he has no Grass-type Pokémon on hand, so it is currently useless.

The second is an ability!

And among many abilities, it is the 【Guts】 ability, one of the most powerful effects!

【Guts】: Doubles the power of physical moves.

Passive effect: Physical constitution will gradually improve, raising the body's upper limit, and training effects double.

The former is the original effect of 【Guts】; the description is very simple—physical move power doubles—but the performance effect is very strong.

Many times, doubling power results in completely different performance; even the official side dares not grant this ability to those powerful Pokémon.

It can only be placed on Pokémon like Marill to balance things out and avoid being overpowered.

Many people who play the single-player Pokémon games like to put the 【Guts】 ability on Slaking.

Instantly creating a violent machine.

However, what Luo Ge did not expect was that 【Guts】 also has a passive effect that can gradually improve his physical constitution.

At the same time, training effects double!

In that case... wouldn't his strength growth speed be even faster?

"Hiss..."

Luo Ge sucked in a cold breath, realizing he had obtained an extraordinary ability, one that could be called a god-tier skill!

If that is the case, are there other abilities with passive effects?

For example, the 【Limber】 ability would continuously increase his speed?

Undeniably, abilities provide him with enormous help, which is also one of the reasons why abilities are hard to obtain.

Miss Cookie, Energy Cubes, plus the 【Guts】 ability; Luo Ge could not imagine how fast his growth speed would be.

With this three-piece set, even someone with poor potential, as long as they can endure hardship, would likely become a master.

Hmm, he now has one more reason to work hard.

One workout is equivalent to two; it's too profitable.

Luo Ge continued looking down; the third was a TM, but not an ordinary move.

It was 【Protect】, known as a god-tier skill!

【Protect】: Definitely blocks the opponent's attack; continuous use lowers the success probability.

It definitely blocks the enemy's attack!

This is why 【Protect】 is called a god-tier skill.

Though continuous use lowers the probability, the flaw does not overshadow the merit; it is an excellent skill.

After playing briefly with Eevee, Luo Ge placed Eevee on his shoulder and began running with Eevee along.

Though Luo Ge's running inevitably caused jolts, Eevee still stood steadily on his shoulder.

Just like Pikachu on Ash's shoulder.

Hmm, it feels a bit like playing Pokémon.
