Chapter 59: Finale Prelude, Dimensional Anchors

~7 min read 1,291 words

The dead silence of Rust Eroded Canyon did not last long; like a wasp nest being violently stabbed, the entire digitized world began to spasm. Dark‑red data clouds in the sky spun at an unprecedented speed, coalescing into a vague, cold giant face outline that covered the whole view—a more direct manifestation of the system will! The ground trembled, not only the canyon but every region within sight, the rule structures emitting wails, and more "Logical Cancer" rose like boils from every corner of the world, bursting and hatching endless twisted creations.

This is not an attack, but the whole "world" rejecting them! The system no longer treats them as "anomalies" to be cleared, but as a "virus" that must be eliminated immediately!

"It's going to go all out!" Li Siwen stared at the wildly flickering data on his personal terminal that represent global rule stability (a new ability he unlocked from the Luo Ya Legacy), his face turning ashen, "It's overdrawn the foundation of this 'Petri Dish' to deal with us! If it continues, before we find a way, this world will collapse first!"

Chen Mo felt the resonance between the Yuan Chu Core Remnant in his chest and the Yuan Chu Law Thread of the world beneath his feet, his brows knit. The resonance granted him temporary self‑protection and a small‑scale ability to define "existence", yet against the whole world's rejection and the system's crushing force he was still like a mantis arm against a chariot. What they needed was a decisive "fulcrum".

Su Yu stepped forward, placed her hand on Chen Mo's chest, contacting the Yuan Chu Core. Her consciousness linked with Chen Mo's, sharing the crucial information sealed in a blue crystal from the logical hub.

"Chaos Whisper is an information virus, the system is its host and disseminator," Su Yu's voice rang in Chen Mo's mind, clear and calm, "The Luo Ya theory does not aim to destroy the system, for that would cause the Petri Dish to shatter completely, and all consciousnesses attached to it (including players not yet fully assimilated) could vanish instantly. The only method is 'Isolation'—to cut the system from the 'real dimension' it parasitizes, exile it back to the higher‑dimensional data space where it belongs, or at least create an 'isolated zone' that cannot interfere with reality."

"Cutting dimensions?" Chen Mo felt a massive shock inside; the level of power involved far exceeded his current understanding.

"We need 'anchors'," Su Yu transmitted, "Three anchors. One anchors the essence of 'reality', one anchors the core of the 'system', and the last… serves as the 'blade' to execute the cut. The Luo Ya civilization failed because they lacked a 'medium' that could communicate with both reality and the system while bearing the Primordial Force."

Chen Mo instantly realized, "The Yuan Chu Core… is that medium?"

"Yes, but that's not enough," Su Yu's gaze seemed to pierce the void, looking toward a distant direction, "According to the coordinates transmitted just before the logical hub's final collapse, and the clues from the Luo Ya Legacy, the three anchors were not created from nothing; they correspond to the system's three 'key nodes' that devour and parse this world, and also the three 'wounds' where the Primordial Force first seeped in. We are already within one—'Rust Eroded Canyon', representing the transformation node of 'matter and energy'."

"Where are the other two?" Han Qing asked in a low voice, he and the others having gathered around, weary yet with burning eyes.

"One is in the extreme north, the 'Eternal Frozen Data Sea', representing the node of 'time and consciousness' flow," Su Yu pointed north, where the sky showed an abnormal, solid deep blue, "The last one is in… the place where we first entered the system core, deep within the ruins of the 'Initial Land', representing the positioning node of 'space and existence'."

Initial Land! The place where they first breached the system core, obtained the first fragment, and almost were erased! That place is indeed the third anchor!

"The system surely knows the critical nature of these three nodes," Li Siwen analyzed, "It will certainly station heavy forces, especially in the Initial Land!"

"No way back." Chen Mo stood up, the Yuan Chu Core faintly glowing, repairing his bodily injuries and stabilizing the rule set of the small area around him. "We must split up and activate the three anchors simultaneously to complete the dimensional cut. This is the only chance."

The division of labor was decided swiftly.

Chen Mo and Su Yu, relying on the Yuan Chu Core and the deepest Luo Ya Legacy, headed to the most dangerous—and likely the system's most tightly defended—'Initial Land' to activate the 'space and existence' anchor.

Han Qing, Zhang Yang, and Wang Hu formed a northward squad, heading to the 'Eternal Frozen Data Sea' to activate the 'time and consciousness' anchor. Han Qing's will, Zhang Yang's firepower, and Wang Hu's resilience suited the extreme physical environment.

Li Siwen, Zhao Lei, and Liu Qian stayed behind in the 'Rust Eroded Canyon', responsible for activating the 'matter and energy' anchor there, and using Li Siwen's understanding of rule data to attempt to disrupt the system's global scheduling.

It is a gamble, dispersing the team's strength; they gamble that the system cannot respond to three simultaneous disturbances, and that they can complete this near‑impossible task before the system reacts.

There were no lengthy farewells; time was pressing.

Han Qing looked deeply at Chen Mo: "Take care. Once the north is secured, we'll come back."

Zhang Yang patted his heavy machine gun: "Don't worry, commander! We'll turn that damn sea upside down!"

Wang Hu hammered his chest heavily; everything was understood without words.

Li Siwen pushed his glasses: "The canyon is mine. I'll do my best to buy you time and disrupt its judgment."

Chen Mo nodded, his gaze sweeping over each comrade bound by life and death, finally meeting Su Yu's eyes.

"Let's begin."

He grasped Su Yu's hand, the Yuan Chu Core blazing brightly, no longer a shield or resonance, but for the first time actively tearing the solid (yet malicious) spatial rules before them! A twisted spatial fissure, its interior coursing with countless strands of silver data, slowly widened before them! On the other side of the fissure, the ruins of the Initial Land could be faintly seen under a false sky, continuously disintegrating into data.

This is the new ability granted by the Yuan Chu Core Remnant—short‑range rule jumping! The cost is huge, but enough to let them cross thousands of miles and pierce straight into the enemy's heart!

"Go!"

The two figures were thrown into the fissure, vanishing from sight.

Han Qing and his two companions did not hesitate, piloting an assault vehicle that had been simply repaired and fitted with cold‑resistant modules salvaged from the canyon ruins; its engine roared as they charged toward the solid deep blue of the north.

Li Siwen took a deep breath, turned and walked toward the silent metallic deep well, with Zhao Lei and Liu Qian close behind; their mission was equally arduous.

Almost the moment the three‑person squad split up, the massive system face in the sky emitted a silent roar that made every surviving soul worldwide's heart skip a beat! It clearly sensed the strong threat fluctuations emanating simultaneously from the three key nodes!

System creations worldwide, regardless of form, simultaneously fell into extreme frenzy, launching reckless assaults in three directions! More unprecedented, terrifying entities—seemingly formed from twisted pure rules—began to rise from the data abyss…

The prelude to the finale, sparked by these fires scattered across the three corners of the world, officially began.

The battle for the dimensional anchors, a life‑or‑death countdown, has begun its final seconds.
