Chapter 215: Welcome the New Year with a Lucky Draw Event!
Welcome the New Year with a Lucky Draw Event!
Welcome the New Year & Lucky Draw Event!
During the first month of the new book's release in December, I felt your genuine support—it truly excited and delighted me. Thank you all for your backing; here's an extra-heavy New Year update!
First, about updates: last month I posted nearly 300, 00 words, averaging nearly ten thousand per day. This month I'll keep pushing hard.
Now, let me share some heartfelt words: as a new author, I'd submitted at least thirty to fifty opening chapters before, totaling over two million words. But this book? It began as just an old idea—I wrote an opening and submitted it. To my surprise, Editor Jia Nan picked it up. The subject was completely unfamiliar, the style utterly unorthodox, the plot and pacing crafted entirely through painstaking thought, with no clear reference points. Fortunately, Editor Jia Nan patiently guided me each time, helping me find a clearer narrative direction.
Before launch, I admitted the direction and pacing were messy: Kiki's arc in the first twenty chapters drifted too far off-track, and the eerie radio arc around chapter eighty veered even further. I'd hoped for nearly 4, 00 follows before launch, but with nearly 40, 00 favorites, the first-day subscription was only 600—I was stunned.
Then Editor Jia Nan patiently told me: writing is a long journey; launch is just the beginning. Many readers supported me with votes (my first time receiving so many monthly votes), so I restructured the outline, focusing squarely on post-apocalyptic survival and the core theme of this dark world invading Blue Star. I aim to explore the diverse stances and actions of different organizations, groups, and individuals in the apocalypse, while crafting a mysterious world where human civilization's survival hinges on relentless effort.
Since then, the numbers have improved daily—average subscriptions kept rising. By month's end, they climbed from around 600 on December 1st to nearly 5, 00, earning a Premium status.
Here, I sincerely thank every supporter. This book has many flaws—I'm still inexperienced in character development and plot transitions. I'll focus on improving these weaknesses. As for the complaints about the data panel feeling "watered down," I'll stop displaying it entirely. When synchronization is needed, I'll release it in free chapters or bonus chapters.
Thank you all. Now, back to the main topic.
Wishing you all a happy New Year 2025.
With the Lunar New Year approaching, I'll hold a monthly vote lottery in January to thank you for your votes. As a small author, I haven't prepared many prizes—please understand.
Prizes: one New Year gift pack worth 200 yuan, and twenty Lunar New Year movie tickets or a small yellow duck pressure cooker (divided into first and second prizes).
Anyone who voted for "Apocalypse: I Built the Infinite Train" between 00: 0 on January 1st and 24: 0 on January 7th is eligible. Winners will be drawn by the "Monthly Vote Memorial Book" vote sequence number, then announced in the comments section and fan group (if you haven't joined the group, please do so—high-res bonus images and plot discussions will be shared there). Winners can privately send me their shipping details; I'll dispatch all prizes within five working days after the 7th.
Also, during the double-vote period, you can visit the Event Center—Double Bonus Monthly Vote Event—to enter Qidian's official double-vote lottery. The prizes may seem modest (not really)—there are many types, including Qidian coins—don't forget to claim them.
