Chapter 435

~4 min read 788 words

Below on the street, Daliu in his Black Dragon battle armor stood like a war god; his evolved blood qi gained power support from the armor, granting him nearly berserk strength—he slammed down a high-energy electric hammer punch that blasted a massive hole through a Tail-Splitter and half the wall of the low house behind it, the shockwave even knocking the sniper's rifle clean out of the shooter's hands.

BOOM!

Daliu's Black Dragon battle armor smashed straight through the entire department store, pounding several Sacred City Organization soldiers and chunks of concrete deep into the ground, then said over his comm: "They're not holding their ground—they're trying to run!"

"These people came here for a purpose—don't let them escape. The monster siege must be tied to them—we need to capture a few alive."

"Understood."

Daliu replied coolly and moved to seize two live captives—when suddenly a violent gust of air slammed into him, hurling him out onto the street. He bent low, his Black Dragon armor's hydraulic systems roaring with force, carving two deep grooves into the ground before he finally stopped. He looked up—and a man in light power armor appeared like a phantom, his hands wreathed in purple light mist, striking straight for the faceplate of Daliu's Black Dragon armor.

"Take out one first," came a calm voice from the man's throat.

But the next instant, his expression changed—his entire body froze mid-motion. He glanced sideways—and floating silently above the street was a figure clad in black power armor, wielding a samurai sword.

WHOOSH!

At that moment, a woman shot out from the smoke, gripping two highly unusual pistols, firing twin pulse beams directly at the floating figure.

But Long Zhijie simply clasped his hands in midair, crossing and rotating them in an instant—the two attackers heard only a violent "KONG!"

Immediately, all the rubble along the street lifted into the air, then twisted in counter-gravitational spirals, dragging the woman into the vortex—Daliu seized the opening and swung a brutal punch straight at the man releasing the purple mist.

On another street, a golden flash darted swiftly between several shadow monsters—Qian Dele's figure flickered across the battlefield, quickly locking onto a fleeing hover-motorcycle. He accelerated forward and leapt onto the back seat.

"Where did you land on the island? How'd you get in so secretly?" Qian Dele asked.

The man clearly hadn't expected Qian Dele's speed—he gasped in shock, drew his gun, and spun to return fire—but the next instant, his weapon vanished from his hand and reappeared directly on his power armor's faceplate.

BANG!

One shot, one kill. Qian Dele's gaze sharpened like a blade: "Luo Yang, nine o'clock."

"Received."

Luo Yang, seated in the corner of a rooftop wearing mechanical ocular lenses, simultaneously activated four combat mechs. Below on the street, they were already locked in fierce combat with an armed Sacred City squad—bullets and pulse beams rained down on his heavy armor, piercing the plating but causing no significant damage—he charged forward, crushing several men, then stormed into a building and plunged into a brutal brawl with a group.

"They've got many people mutated into Gui beings—and they're being attacked too. Looks like they didn't expect to trigger such a massive monster just now," Luo Yang said.

Shu Qin leapt through the ruins, her shotgun shattering the skulls of nearby enemies, her power armor spinning her entire body as she kicked one man straight into a wall. She pressed her earpiece: "I've received Lin's message—hurry up!"

"Got it!"

ZENG ZENG ZENG—a spinning blade sliced through the air as Lu Chang dropped from above, solemnly saying: "Sister Qin, that powerful guy's mutated—be careful!"

BOOM!

Ningjing descended from above, punching a Red Bone from head to toe into dust, cratering the ground beneath with violent force—the shockwave shattered every window along the surrounding streets.

"Strong soul resonance fluctuation approaching!" Bai Bai fired a laser beam, shooting down a flying unit, then retreated behind cover to report: "Someone's approaching—three hundred meters out."

"Watch out!"

Before the warning finished, twin steel cables shot past Bai Bai's head—Xiaoqing's power armor ignited its thrusters, breaking the sound barrier as she surged forward, snatching Bai Bai away. The instant she pulled him clear, the rooftop where he'd stood exploded into dust—a burly middle-aged man, clad in massive mechanical arms but no armor whatsoever, strode through the air at high speed. His punch, wreathed in violent thermal energy, erupted into a torrent of superheated steam the moment the rooftop shattered.

"Fast runner. No crystalline evolution, yet still formidable."

The middle-aged giant's gaze turned icy. Without any propulsion system, he suddenly blasted a jet of white vapor from his body—launching himself like a cannonball toward Xiaoqing and Bai Bai as they fled.
