Chapter 462: Deep Dive Plan

~6 min read 1,150 words

The waters around Haiyan Island churned with ghostly waves, the sky surging with storms; at 16:12, in the monitoring hall beneath Lidao Submarine Base, the atmosphere was dead silent and heavy.

Everyone remained silent; those from Wuxian soon calmed down from their shock—they had all faced life-or-death situations before, and Lin Xian’s insane plan was now familiar to them, and it sounded like the only evacuation option under the current crisis.

On the Falcon Sea Team side, several faces wore grave expressions; Gaidi broke the silence: “So, Captain Lin, your plan is for all of us to board that nuclear submarine and escape through that ‘Still Abyss Vortex’?”

Lin Xian replied: “The orbit, the surface, the sky—all are currently impossible. Unless we hide on the island, there’s no way to escape from so many strange entities ‘having a feast’ here. But now, with the volcanic geothermal wells becoming unstable due to Mount Garan’s activity, they’ve turned into ticking time bombs. Hiding is no longer the best option—you all understand that.”

Ryan nodded seriously: “Did you come up with this plan because the Chaisang Island energy leak detected footage of the Great Ocean Deity? So now, passing through the oceanic ridge abyss is our only chance?”

“Yes.”

“OK.” Ryan immediately lowered his sunglasses and declared decisively: “I agree to this plan.”

“Ryan!”

At that moment, Erica spoke up: “Even if we abandon the fleet and Neptune, that submarine can’t carry this many people—does that mean we also abandon all weapons and supplies?”

“Exactly.” Vanessa pulled up a data readout: “I just checked—the deep-sea-class North Wind-09 strategic nuclear submarine has a crew capacity of 400. We have nearly 500 people here, plus heavy power armor. If everyone boards, the load will be immense. Even if we escape successfully, without supplies, how long can so many of us survive in the Pacific?”

“There’s another issue,” mechanic Azir added to Ryan: “You said the super-vortex’s flow exceeds 40 centimeters per second and the depth exceeds 1,000 meters. That’s a massive stress test for submarine structural materials. Though people from Shengcheng have traversed this route, Mount Garan is still erupting continuously—water temperature and volcanic ash are serious problems. Under these conditions, even a single collision with a large volcanic rock or a powerful vortex could crush the submarine under water pressure and currents, let alone the strange entities.”

Hearing everyone’s words, Ryan merely raised a hand to silence them, then shrugged.

“I’m fully aware of these risks. But aside from Lin’s plan, do any of you have a better option?” He glanced at the time: “It’s 16:20 now. We’re hiding here and don’t even know whether nightfall or the volcanic eruption will come first. To survive, we need a gamble, don’t we?”

The core members of the Falcon Sea Team fell silent. Ryan then turned to Lin Xian and said: “Lin, I have the best submarine mechanical team—experienced. Maybe we can raise the success rate a bit?”

“Probably.” Lin Xian replied.

“Lin Xian,” Chen Sixuan spoke up now: “If all of us evacuate via submarine, what about Wuxian?”

Lin Xian looked at Chen Sixuan: “I never said all of us would evacuate via submarine…”

“Huh?” Chen Sixuan frowned slightly: “Then what are we—”

“We’re taking the train underwater!” Lin Xian said directly.

At these words, not only the Falcon Sea Team, but even the Wuxian team were stunned.

“What?! You’re going to drive a train into the deep ocean?!!” Vanessa’s eyes widened in disbelief.

“This is suicide!” Erica exclaimed: “A train—how could it possibly—”

On this side, though Wuxian’s team knew the train had been modified for deep-sea use, none had imagined Lin Xian planned to drive this heavy train straight into the abyss for escape.

“I thought you were going to use the Skytrain,” Monica crossed her arms, equally puzzled.

Lin Xian shook his head and gave a bitter smile: “I wanted to. But under these circumstances, it’s impossible now.”

“Why?!” Shasha asked in astonishment: “We have a big spaceship—can’t we use it?”

“You’re dumb,” Kiki floated over to Lin Xian and said to Shasha: “You called it a big spaceship—can’t you guess why we can’t use it?”

Shu Qin and others immediately looked around. Qian Dele realized and sighed: “The underwater passage beneath Fugang is too narrow—the Skytrain can’t fit?”

Lin Xian nodded, glancing upward: “Yes. Unless we were outside—but that’s impossible now.”

The underwater passage at Fugang was specially built by the former military base for submarines; the Skytrain, a colossal aerial vessel, simply couldn’t pass through. Lin Xian had struggled just to extract the behemoth from the Black Star Forge inside Fugang—forget about boarding it. Technically, there was another option: everyone could enter the water via power armor, then Lin Xian could retrieve the Skytrain underwater and they could board it—but that plan was absurd. Compared to that, using the modified Wuxian was far more direct.

Additionally, another reason: the Skytrain-class weaponship had not yet been completed. This unfinished starship was far less reliable than Wuxian.

Watching Lin Xian’s team seriously discuss the train-submerging plan, the Falcon Sea Team exchanged bewildered glances.

“You really plan to drive the train into the deep ocean?” Ryan asked.

“Our train’s impressive, right?” Kiki replied confidently: “Don’t underestimate it. This train doesn’t just dive—it can also soar into the sky. It can even match an S-class. You don’t need to worry.”

"Our train is impressive, right?" Kiki replied with confidence. "Don't underestimate it—this train can dive underwater and shoot into the sky, and it can even hold its own against an S-class. You don't need to worry."

Lu Xingchen stood up now, his expression bold: “To survive against all odds, one must have the courage to embrace death to find life. We possess transcendent power—what fear is there in ascending to heaven or diving into the sea?”

Shasha, seeing this guy who had just been napping now acting smug, leaned over and whispered, covering her mouth: “Lin’s plan is for you to sit inside Wuxian, sink a thousand meters deep, then slip through the super-sea vortex between the volcanic vents and the Great Ocean Deity’s territory to escape…”

Lu Xingchen’s legs instantly went weak—he nearly collapsed. Seeing Xiaoqing’s gaze, he quickly steadied himself and declared loudly: “N-no problem. It’s just a deep-sea vortex.”

“Alright.” Seeing Lin Xian’s team remain calm, Ryan muttered in amazement, turning to Lin Xian: “Lin, when do we move?”

“Now!” Lin Xian declared decisively: “Ryan, get your people aboard the submarine immediately. Bring as much supplies as you can. We should depart before nightfall.”

"No... no problem, just a simple underwater vortex."

"Alright." Seeing that everyone on Lin Xian’s side remained calm, Ryan marveled and turned to him: "Lin, when do we act?"

"Now!"

Lin Xian immediately said firmly: "Ryan, get your people aboard the boat right away—move as much supplies as you can. We should depart before nightfall."

"Got it."
