I wouldn’t have done it!”

“I’m sorry,” he said, stroking her hair gently. “But I’m here now.”

Su Jiyai sniffed, pulling back to look at him. “Don’t do that again. Ever.”

Qin Feng gave a small, tired smile. “Okay. I promise.”

Suddenly—

A heavy thud echoed behind them.

Su Jiyai turned just in time to see Madam Queen, pale and shaking, staggering to her feet in the corner of the RV.

Her face was twisted in fury, her fingers curling into claws.

“You…” she hissed, eyes locking onto Su Jiyai. “It’s you. It’s your fault.”

Su Jiyai stood quickly, shielding Qin Feng with her body. “What are you talking about?!”

“You led him to me,” Madam Queen spat, stumbling forward. “The Devil found me because of you! Even my brother died! All because of you!”

“You cannot point fingers when you have caused so many deaths.” Su Jiyai said coldly.

But Madam Queen wasn’t listening. Her energy surged, unstable and raw, her aura crackling with fury and fear.

“You took everything from me,” she whispered, her voice trembling. “And now I’ll take it back.”

She charged.

Qin Feng’s eyes flashed as Madam Queen charged.

In a blink, his fingers flicked upward, and a glowing blue shield erupted in front of Su Jiyai.

Madam Queen slammed into it with a wild scream, the impact making the RV tremble slightly. She bounced back, gasping in pain, but already gathering her energy to strike again.

Su Jiyai narrowed her eyes. “Stop her.”

Qin Feng didn’t hesitate. With one smooth motion, he was in front of her, intercepting Madam Queen just as she launched her second attack.

Her clawed hand met his palm and stopped cold.

She blinked, stunned. “Wha—?”

“You’re too weak,” Qin Feng said flatly.

With a twist of his wrist, he sent a pulse of force that knocked her back into the wall. She groaned and slumped to the floor, struggling to stand again.

But before she could rise, Su Jiyai stepped forward, her gaze icy.

“You think I’d let you die?” she asked coldly, arms crossed. “After what you did to my brother?”

Madam Queen froze, her lips trembling.

“You tortured him mercilessly.” Su Jiyai said coldly. “And now you want to die like a coward?”

Madam Queen’s voice cracked. “I don’t have anywhere left to go! I have nothing!”

Su Jiyai scoffed, her laugh bitter and sharp. “Good. Then you’ll have twenty years to sit with that nothing. Twenty years of pain. That’s better than death, isn’t it?”

Madam Queen’s mouth opened, but no words came out. Her knees buckled as she collapsed again, panting.

“Qin Feng,” Su Jiyai said coldly, “knock her out. Toss her in the storage room. I don’t want to see her.”

Qin Feng gave a small nod. “Understood.”

He raised his hand and murmured a simple incantation. A soft flash of light hit Madam Queen’s forehead, and her eyes rolled back before she slumped unconscious.

He lifted her effortlessly and walked toward the back of the RV. With a wave of his hand, a hidden door opened into a reinforced storage chamber.

He tossed her inside, sealed the door with a rune, then walked back.

When he returned, Su Jiyai was sitting on the small couch, rubbing her face with both hands. He sat beside her.

“Are you alright?” she asked softly, glancing up at him.

Qin Feng offered a weary smile. “Yeah. Just tired. That spell took more out of me than I thought.”

Su Jiyai leaned back, eyes fixed on the ceiling. “What happened in there? What did you hear?”

Qin Feng sighed. “A lot.”

Then he told her everything that he had heard.

For some reason, he was able to hear all the conversation that was happening outside, even though he was in the ring.

Su Jiyai’s brow furrowed. “The Light of the World?”

Qin Feng nodded. “Apparently, there’s a prophecy. The Seven Devils are destined to die at the hands of the Light of the World. And the Devil believes that person might be you.”

Su Jiyai’s expression darkened.

Qin Feng continued, his voice lower.

“I had heard the conversation between someone named Prophet and Elisha. Apparently, Elisha had poached all the people having the potential to be the Light of the World.”

Su Jiyai fell silent. The words echoed in her head, swirling with the Administrator’s voice from long ago.

So that’s why… That’s why I was chosen.

Qin Feng studied her expression. “What are you thinking about?”

“Just… if I am truly the Light of the World, then that means I should have the potential. You are saying that Elisha had poached all the possible potential so why was I still left out?”

Qin Feng leaned back against the couch, his brows drawing together. “I was wondering the same thing.”

Su Jiyai’s fingers clenched into fists. Her voice was quiet, almost a whisper.

“The Administrator once told me that… he tried to find others before me. He tested dozens—hundreds, maybe—but none of them made it. I thought I was just lucky. Or desperate enough to survive.”

Qin Feng tilted his head, his voice gentle. “But now you think it’s more than that.”

She nodded slowly. “If Elisha already grabbed every other potential Light… then maybe… I wasn’t poached because I was never visible to them.”

Qin Feng blinked. “Invisible?”

“No, not literally,” she said, shaking her head.

“But think about it. I was just an ordinary girl in a dying city, scavenging for food, trying to endure my foster family’s torture, hiding from zombies and bounty hunters. I wasn’t strong.

I wasn’t even awake. Maybe I didn’t show up in their visions or scans or whatever twisted system they use.”

“I don’t think so.” Qin Feng shook his head.

Su Jiyai remained quiet before saying,

“Anyways, now that you have a chip that could lead us to them, we need to utilize it before they close it. I will try to take down one of the devils by the next night.”

“I will go with you.” Qin Feng said firmly.

“No.” Su Jiyai firmly declined. “Don’t worry, nothing will happen to me. I have a Veil and I can enter and leave their base without any problem.”

Qin Feng looked at Su Jiyai worriedly.

Su Jiyai assured him by patting his hand.

Just as Qin Feng was about to say something, Qiang Zhi came out of his room.

Looking at weak Qin Feng, he walked up to him and asked worriedly,

“What happened? Why are you looking so weak?”

Qin Feng smiled,

“Nothing. I am just hungry.”

Qiang Zhi didn’t believe him, but before he could press Qin Feng to say anything, Su Jiyai chided him,

“Why aren’t you asleep? If you don’t sleep on time, your height won’t grow.”

Qiang Zhi scowled, rubbing his eyes. “I was asleep, but then there was this loud thud and some shouting. How could I sleep through that?”

Su Jiyai raised an eyebrow. “Curiosity killed the cat, you know.”

“Well,” Qiang Zhi folded his arms, “I’m not a cat. I’m a growing boy, and I know something happened.”

Qin Feng gave a weak chuckle. “He’s sharp, isn’t he?”

Su Jiyai gave Qiang Zhi a mock glare. “Fine. We had a little… situation. But it’s under control.”

Qiang Zhi glanced between the two of them, then squinted suspiciously. “Did it have to do with Madam Queen?”

Su Jiyai sighed. “You heard that much, too?”

“I hear everything when people forget I’m in the next room,” he said, then leaned forward. “So, what happened to her? Did she go crazy or something?”

“She tried to attack,” Qin Feng said calmly. “But don’t worry. She’s not going to hurt anyone.”

“Did you kill her?” Qiang Zhi asked bluntly.

Su Jiyai’s expression hardened for a moment, but then she softened when she saw the worry in his eyes. “No. We locked her up.”

“But why not just—” Qiang Zhi began, but Su Jiyai cut him off.

“Because death is too easy,” she said, her voice low. “People like her… they need time to think about what they’ve done.”

Qiang Zhi nodded slowly, not fully understanding but not arguing either.

He turned back to Qin Feng. “Are you really just hungry?”

Qin Feng nodded.

Qiang Zhi frowned, then, without warning, turned and ran back into his room. A moment later, he returned holding 2 small energy bars and 2 full bottles of water.

He first passed one to Su Jiyai and then gave one to Qin Feng.

Qin Feng raised an eyebrow and asked,

“Why not give me both? Your sister didn’t ask for it.”

Qiang Zhi said with a cold face,

“Well, she didn’t have dinner. And from her face, I can see that she is in shock too. Anyways. I am a unbiased person so I brought it for both of you.”
",1531,"2026-06-06T06:36:35.983Z",1,"novelbin.me","ca7ca8091063a98ec7f035b31fd6324c8444a6c97c0559596554712ba91fa806","apocalypse-i-have-a-multiplier-system-chapter-490","apocalypse-i-have-a-multiplier-system-chapter-488",661,"https://novelzhen.com/images/covers/apocalypse-i-have-a-multiplier-system-cover.jpg"]
