Chapter 15: Pure White Girl

~7 min read 1,326 words

White, truly white, simply as if she had albinism.

This was Dorothy's first impression of the girl beside her, but she was soon amused by her own thought. After all, it was impossible for a witch, this ultimate creature, to have albinism.

The girl beside her was undoubtedly a beauty. After all, the average appearance of the witch race was very high. The appearance of those idol stars from her previous life after beauty filters could only get a "plain" evaluation among witches.

But now, this pure white girl beside her belonged to a beauty extremely rare even among witches. She was the second most beautiful witch Dorothy had ever seen since she was little.

Hmm, as for who the first most beautiful one was?

Naturally, it was herself.

Pure white hair, fair skin, even the eyebrows and eyelashes were white. This delicate and cute girl simply looked like she could glow.

And her temperament was spotless and very holy. Just by looking at her, auditory hallucinations of holy songs appeared in Dorothy's ears. She could vaguely see gods bowing their heads, angels circling, and holy light descending above the pure white girl's head...

Even behind the girl, who was originally empty, twelve holy and beautiful pure white wings spread out, and feathers of light drifted down. Dorothy reached out to catch a feather that drifted beside her, but the feather disappeared the moment it touched her hand.

*Hallucination? *

Dorothy frowned slightly, guessing. However, this guess was soon overturned by her. A trace of realization flashed in her eyes.

She was a witch with high inspiration. This kind of witch could usually see the essence of things through phenomena and see some things that ordinary people couldn't see.

Then the hallucinations of holy songs and angels she had just seen should be her inspiration acting up, accidentally peeking into a part of the characteristics hidden by the pure white girl in front of her.

This was an angel witch with a quite high degree of evolution.

It was just that she had encountered such a high-level evolution witch who used angels as a template just as she saw this evolution atlas. The matter of fate was truly wonderful.

Dorothy understood, so she apologized.

"Sorry, I offended you a bit. I still can't control my inspiration very well."

Peeking into other people's secrets rashly was a rude thing no matter where it was. Although she didn't mean it, offending was offending. A polite apology was necessary.

And a witch with such a high degree of evolution must have perceived her inspiration's peeking just now. Now, this active apology was better than being asked to apologize by others.

Regarding Dorothy's apology, the pure white girl tilted her head and didn't speak, just looked at her a bit seriously.

The next moment, Dorothy also keenly sensed a feeling of being spied on. It was just that this spying didn't go too deep but stopped at a point. Therefore, after she frowned, she didn't block it.

*Is this "tit for tat"? That makes it even. It's quite fair. *

Dorothy thought to herself.

She shrugged, feeling that this pure white, holy girl was quite temperamental and didn't seem easy to get along with.

However, what did this have to do with her? Anyway, everyone was just a passerby who met by chance. There wouldn't be any more involvement between her, an ordinary witch, and such a big shot who looked like she was incredible.

She simply took a step back, letting the other party take the book first.

And the other party didn't seem to intend to be polite to her. The pure white girl reached out and activated the array on the bookshelf. Soon, complex magic array patterns unfolded in front of the bookshelf, and countless pieces of paper and text emerged from the array, finally combining and binding into a brand-new book.

It was exactly that "Detailed Explanation of Witch Bloodline Talent Specialty Evolution Pedigree."

And the book on the bookshelf remained intact in its original position.

This was also common sense for buying books in bookstores in the witch world. What was displayed on the bookshelf was the original copy collected by the shop owner, while what the customer bought was a copy made by magic on the spot.

After the pure white girl took her book and stepped back, Dorothy stepped forward. She touched the spine of the evolution atlas and input

Thus, the magic array on the bookshelf reappeared, but Dorothy did not choose to replicate a physical copy like that pure white girl. After all, physical books were quite expensive these days and took up a lot of space at home; not everyone had a massive private library to store books.

Dorothy took her spellbook out of the magic satchel she was carrying. It was a spellbook that looked quite plain, unlike the cute pink cartoon cover Alice had, which was full of girlish charm and encrusted with gold and silver, making the whole book sparkle and shine. The cover of this book simply had the four Chinese characters for "Witch's Notes" written on a plain black background, with a simple silhouette of a witch riding a broomstick and wearing a wide witch's hat flying below.

Placing the spellbook in the center of the bookshelf's magic array, Dorothy chose to download. Then, the text filling the sky flew into her spellbook, and a new page was added to it.

This was the correct way for a normal witch to buy books; the downloaded version was convenient to read and cheap. Only true book lovers or those fools with more money than sense who loved to show off would buy physical books.

Dorothy was undoubtedly a book lover, but being short on cash, she saw everyone as a sucker, especially the pure white girl in front of her, who clearly looked like a rich lady from a big family.

Damn it, once I save up enough money to buy a house, I'll definitely set up a huge library and collect a bunch of physical books too.

She thought with a sour heart.

After buying the book, Dorothy didn't linger. She turned and walked away, preparing to chase after her silly little sister, who had been made so uncomfortable by the quiet atmosphere of the bookstore that she hadn't even noticed her sister had fallen behind, only knowing to keep her head down and lead the way.

"Wait..."

The voice from behind, sounding like a hymn, made her stop. Dorothy turned her head and looked at the pure white girl who had called out to her with some confusion.

"Something up?"

Dorothy didn't speak, but her eyes conveyed this emotion.

It was just that her eyes were hidden behind wide black-rimmed glasses; she hoped the other party could see her expression clearly.

"Sophie Liya, my name is Sophie Liya."

The pure white girl didn't speak either, but her voice was clearly transmitted into Dorothy's mind.

"Oh..."

Dorothy nodded, still a bit dazed.

What's going on? I didn't ask for your name, why are you telling me this?

She really is a weirdo.

She thought this to herself, but on the surface, she still nodded politely to show she understood, then turned around again, ready to leave.

"Wait..."

The voice, as pleasant as a hymn, sounded again.

What is it now?

Dorothy, turning her head again, was slightly impatient.

"Tell me your name. You are qualified for me to remember your name."

The pure white girl's voice rang in her mind again. The girl's voice carried obvious pride, and her tone was as if Dorothy were receiving a royal favor from her.

Tsk, whoever wants this qualification can have it.

Dorothy complained in her heart, but after thinking about it, adhering to the simple philosophy that it's better to avoid trouble than to invite it, she spoke up.

"Dorothy."

Then, she turned and accelerated away without looking back.
