Chapter 201
Bang!
Stark's feet landed on the ground, making a sound.
"Finally, victory."
Stark placed the ice-encased Ye Nan on the ground, only to see the ice on the surface crack with a popping sound, and in the blink of an eye, all the ice shattered completely.
"Being sealed inside ice is truly uncomfortable."
Ye Nan stretched his limbs, looked at Obadiah lying on the ground in front of him, and said, "Falling from such a height, he's probably already dead."
Despite having the protection of the steel skin, falling from such a height would still cause injury, and this injury would be enough to leave Obadiah smashed to pieces.
"He brought this upon himself." Stark removed his helmet and looked at the steel suit on the ground, feeling a bit emotional.
"If I had stopped him when I first discovered him moving company assets, perhaps he wouldn't have ended up like this today. Indulgence only harms others and oneself."
"What do you plan to do now?" Ye Nan kicked the steel suit under his feet, heard the groaning sound of Obadiah coming from inside, and said, "How do you intend to deal with him?"
"Hand him over to the police. What he has done is enough to keep him in a prison cell for the rest of his life. I hope he can turn over a new leaf in prison and live out his remaining years in peace." Stark sighed. Although Obadiah was wicked, he was, after all, his uncle who had watched him grow up. To make him kill him, Stark really couldn't bring himself to do it.
"Ye Nan, am I too soft-hearted?" Stark looked at Ye Nan with a bitter smile.
"It is soft-hearted, but it's not exactly soft-hearted either. If it were me, I wouldn't be able to do it either." Ye Nan fell silent for a moment before saying slowly.
If it were his own relative who betrayed him, and this relative was someone who had watched him grow up from childhood and with whom he shared a close bond, he didn't know if he would be able to do it either.
If it were in the heat of battle, killing him would be just that—killing him; he wouldn't have any burden in his heart. But when the person had clearly already failed, to still kill him—he truly couldn't bring himself to do it.
"You and I really are the same kind of person." Stark suddenly laughed, "Being able to know a brother like you, I haven't lived this life in vain."
"That is..." Before Ye Nan could finish his sentence, he felt a great force strike him from behind. Before he could react, his entire body was sent flying, as if he had been hit by a speeding train.
Obadiah had knocked Stark and Ye Nan flying, and only then did he struggle to climb up.
Inside the steel suit, Obadiah's head was covered in blood, and the blood spread across his entire aged face. His old face looked like a devil that had crawled out of hell, a sight too horrible to look at.
"Want to send me to prison? I'll take your lives first." Obadiah shook his head, his expression twisted. He was in a very bad state; his whole body felt like it was falling apart, and he was in intense pain all over. But he knew he had to hold on. If he didn't, the rest of his days would be spent in prison.
He didn't want to go to prison; he wanted to enjoy life, he wanted to spend money in heaps and earn money in heaps. Therefore, he had to eliminate everyone who stood in his way.
"As long as I kill them, my future will be bright."
Obadiah operated the steel suit and charged toward Ye Nan. His expectation for the future and his fear of prison made him temporarily forget the pain.
"This bastard." Stark reacted and immediately stood in front of Obadiah, engaging him in battle.
A large amount of gas sprayed from the soles of Stark's feet, and he rushed in front of Obadiah, punching him in the body. With a bang, the damaged steel in front of Obadiah was shattered by Stark...
"Go to hell."
Obadiah ignored his own injuries; instead, he grabbed Stark, his two large hands exerting force suddenly.
"Stark, you playboy. All this time, I've been working for you, taking care of the company for you. I never expected you to actually want to send me to prison. But God will not let a piece of trash like you off; you will eventually die by my hands."
"Obadiah, you really know how to turn black into white, making it sound as if it were true. It was clearly you who betrayed the company first and tried to kill me later, yet in your mouth, it becomes me being unrighteous to you." Stark hummed a few times, his face showing disgust.
Although his steel suit was grabbed by Obadiah and constantly squeezed, he himself had not suffered heavy damage like Obadiah, so he could be considered quite relaxed. However, in the face of Obadiah's distortion of the truth, he still had to refute it, and while refuting, he was constantly pondering in his heart.
"Falling from the sky, Obadiah must have suffered heavy damage, if not dead then crippled. The reason he can still continue to function normally is entirely because of the intelligent system inside the steel suit; it doesn't require him to operate it personally."
"If I can destroy his intelligent system, it would be equivalent to cutting off his hands and feet."
"But how should I destroy the system inside?"
The intelligent system inside the steel suit is not connected to the outside world. To destroy the intelligent system, one must find a way to deceive it and make it accept external signals.
"Damn it, what on earth should I do to deceive the intelligent system inside?"
To deceive an intelligent system, the simplest way is to make it believe you are its master. But in front of such an intelligent system that is not connected to the outside world, trying to deceive it is simply as difficult as ascending to heaven.
"Perhaps he can."
Stark looked at Ye Nan, who was climbing up from the ground, and shouted loudly: "Ye Nan, is there any way to deceive the intelligent system and seize control of it?"
"Perhaps there was a way before, but my helper is not here right now. Trying to seize control of the intelligent system is simply as difficult as ascending to heaven." Ye Nan showed a bitter smile.
His connection with Pan Duola had been cut off once again, the reason being that the wireless earpiece had been lost during the intense battle.
"It seems I must change this method of communication in the future. The limitations of the earpiece are truly too great. The watch in Infinite Terror might be a good choice."
Ye Nan murmured in his heart and made up his mind. Compared to an earpiece, a watch has more functions, and most importantly, a watch can be fixed to the wrist so it won't be lost no matter how intense the battle is. Plus, a watch is inconspicuous and has countless advantages over an earpiece.
"But I should forge a sturdy watch to avoid it being destroyed in battle."
Just as Ye Nan was letting his imagination run wild, Obadiah's strength was also exerted to the extreme. His two hands gripped Stark tightly, making Stark unable to move.
"How much longer can you hold on? Let me think about you; you probably can't last much longer now." A smile appeared on Obadiah's devil-like bloody face.
"You playboy, don't you just have a good father? What right do you have to spend money in heaps, become the darling of the media, and have the whole world envy you?"
"Every time I see you spending money like water, I always wonder, what on earth do you rely on? What on earth?"
"You have never managed the company; I have been the one handling everything alone, getting up early and staying up late every day, and having to face the media and other competitors..."
"I gave my youth and my energy for Stark Industries, but what did I get? Less than five percent of the shares, just less than five percent of the shares."
"But what about you? You are just a playboy who eats and drinks for free, sleeping with women every day, not knowing how to cherish money at all, only knowing how to take the company's profits and squander them. Yet a person like you took thirty-five percent of the company's shares and took the vast majority of the company's profits. Do you know how much I hate you in my heart?"
"How much you hate me in your heart, I don't know, but I know you have gone crazy."
"I spend money like water, I don't care about money, I buy antiques everywhere, I play with women everywhere, but those were all earned by myself. Every cent of my money was earned through my own efforts. You can have such great resentment just because I spend my own money? Uncle, you have gone crazy."
Although Stark is the chairman of Stark Industries, in reality, his inventions do not belong to Stark Industries, but to himself.
If Stark Industries wants these inventions, it must pay a hefty sum of money, which is the reason why Stark, as a director, can spend his days in debauchery.
"Yes, I am crazy. I hate God's unfairness. Why did He give a genius brain to you, letting you earn money without any scruples, while I work like an ox and a horse only to get a meager salary?"
Obadiah was indeed going crazy. Every time Stark made a big splash with money, it made him jealous. Jealousy was like a poisonous snake, devouring his soul.
He had clearly given everything for Stark Industries, but everyone focused their eyes on Stark, and he was like a clown.
In the eyes of others, Stark was the brightest star, and he was nothing but Stark's follower.
As long as Stark was there, he would never have a day to shine.
"Obadiah, jealousy has devoured your soul. Now you are a puppet controlled by jealousy." Stark shook his head. He suddenly felt that his uncle was pitiful. He could only ever see the glorious side of others and envy that glorious side, but he could not see the emptiness in their hearts.
He didn't know that for the sake of research, he had gone days and nights without eating or drinking just to break through a technical difficulty; he didn't know that although he enjoyed the eyes of others, he hated those eyes; he didn't know that he often changed female companions, but what he longed for was a female companion who treated him sincerely.
"Forget it, things have reached this point, saying anything more has no meaning."
"No, it has meaning. The only meaning is to let you die clearly." Obadiah gripped Stark tightly, and at the same time, the two missiles at his waist were fired from behind.
"You're crazy." Seeing Obadiah actually fire missiles at such a close distance, Stark screamed in shock and began to struggle frantically.
With this strike, not only would he be heavily damaged, but Obadiah himself wouldn't fare any better. This was a completely mutually destructive tactic.
"Haha..."
Obadiah laughed crazily. The two missiles left his suit and turned into two points of light, but the next moment, the missiles changed direction and flew toward the sky, turning into gorgeous fireworks in the air.
"What's going on?" Obadiah looked at this scene in disbelief, unable to believe it.
A red figure jumped over from a distance, and at the same time, several white silk threads stuck to his thigh.
Obadiah only felt his lower body slip, his whole person tilted backward, and his hands unconsciously relaxed.
Stark felt his body loosen and immediately escaped from Obadiah's hands, but he didn't launch an attack; instead, he looked vigilantly at the red figure flying over from a distance.
