Chapter 234: It

~11 min read 2,058 words

With a loud boom, the Alien Queen broke free from the egg-laying apparatus, standing majestically before Ye Nan.

She was a full three times the size of a normal Alien, her entire body a dark, greenish-black. Her long tail was covered in barbs, and besides that, next to her pangolin-like head, a small, human-like head swayed continuously in the air, its countless pink tentacles writhing and clawing.

This was the Alien Queen, who had drifted over from an unknown galaxy aboard a spacecraft and descended upon Earth.

With a *shhh* sound, a tongue pierced through Duanyan's stomach. The Alien Queen gave a slight tug, pulling the intestines out from his abdomen.

"No!" Ororo snapped out of her daze and let out a loud cry.

Just moments ago, the Alien Queen had suddenly launched an attack on her. Before she could even react, she saw a figure block her path, taking the blow for her.

"Why did you help me?" Ororo roared, her eyes moistening without her realizing it.

"Because my recovery ability is strong enough." Duanyan turned his head, flashing his white teeth at Ororo. "Besides, getting hurt is a man's specialty."

Tears flowed uncontrollably down Ororo's face, a hint of pity appearing on her fair, white skin. "You're such a fool."

"Only a fool would do this, but I am a fool. I like being a fool. For you, I'm willing to do anything." Duanyan chuckled.

"I always thought I would never feel my heart race. I thought my life was just about eating, drinking, and playing, drifting through the world. I didn't expect that wasn't the case. When facing things concerning you, I felt my heart race. That feeling was like an electric shock—so warm, like a mother's embrace."

"To be honest, I don't even know what a mother's embrace feels like. I..."

*Whoosh! * A tail whipped over fiercely. Duanyan, who was about to continue speaking, was slammed against the wall by the tail. More blood sprayed from his stomach.

"Duanyan..."

Ororo let out an angry roar; she had never felt such heartbreak. The Alien Queen's tail hadn't just wounded Duanyan; it had wounded her heart as well.

Her originally silver-white eyes turned blood-red. Facing the behemoth before her, she roared.

"Thunderstorm!"

A massive layer of clouds gathered slowly outside, forming a dark, overcast sky. Bolts of lightning snaked across the clouds, as if nature itself was brewing its most terrifying strike.

"Give me a moment, Ye Nan." Ororo spoke slowly. An atmosphere of sorrow permeated the air.

She no longer cared about the mission. Even if it meant destroying the spacecraft, she had to kill the Alien Queen before her. She had to avenge Duanyan.

"Stop, Ororo." Duanyan slowly crawled up from the ground, one hand clutching his abdomen, struggling to keep his blood from flowing out further. "You'll destroy the spacecraft."

"I know, but I don't care. I want to avenge you." Ororo gritted her teeth, struggling to keep her sorrow from spilling over. Duanyan had suffered such severe injuries and had been struck by the Alien Queen's tail; there was almost no chance of survival.

No matter what, she had to avenge him, otherwise, she would never forgive herself for the rest of her life. As for the mission, she couldn't care less. At worst, she would defect—wasn't that his dream? Since he couldn't achieve it, she would achieve it for him.

After Ororo said so much, how could Duanyan not know her true feelings? Yet, despite being moved, Duanyan could only suppress it.

"Silly girl, I won't die. I have Wolverine's genes inside me; my recovery ability is superb. As long as my heart and head aren't destroyed, I won't die. And as it happens, I'm very lucky—my heart isn't injured. Look, my heart, it's still beating..."

After finishing, Duanyan moved to pull his heart out to show Ororo.

How could a person live without a heart? Duanyan's actions nearly scared Ororo out of her wits. She hurriedly dispersed her power, walked to Duanyan in a few steps, and grabbed his hand. "Don't do this, don't scare me."

"I wouldn't scare you." Duanyan chuckled, letting Ororo hold him.

While Duanyan and Ororo were flirting, Ye Nan was trapped in a bitter struggle.

The Alien Queen had struck Duanyan with a heavy blow. Seeing the situation was dire, Ye Nan immediately launched a fierce attack on the Alien Queen, forcing her to focus her attention on him.

Ye Nan's fists smashed into the Alien Queen's tongue, pinning it to the ground. At the same time, a burning sensation spread through his hands. Ye Nan knew it was the Alien Queen's corrosive saliva eating away at his flesh, but he couldn't care less. At this moment, he could only attack regardless of the cost.

Any creature on Earth had a fragile tongue, and Ye Nan believed the Alien Queen was no different. After a series of strikes, he pulled out his Mandella metal weapon, stabbed it fiercely into the Alien Queen's tongue, and then slashed hard, carving a long wound into it.

*Hiss! *

With her tongue injured, the Alien Queen shrieked madly and swiped with a claw. But Ye Nan was prepared. As the claw descended, he leaped back repeatedly, dodging the attack.

"Go to hell, you bastard!" The Alien Queen's other head suddenly roared, and countless pink tentacles extended from behind.

"Ororo, attack!"

Ye Nan dodged left and right, avoiding the pink tentacles, but there were simply too many of them. He had no choice but to ask for Ororo's help.

Hearing this, Ororo immediately woke up from her flirtatious state. She remembered that this was a life-and-death battlefield, and her face instantly changed, turning a deep red.

"I'm sorry." Ororo apologized—it was unclear if she was saying it to Duanyan or Ye Nan. She clasped her hands together, and the dark clouds that had dispersed inside the ship gathered again. Bolts of lightning descended, paralyzing the pink tentacles.

"Annoying thing. Get lost!"

All the tentacles rushing toward Ye Nan changed direction and charged toward Ororo.

"Beast!" Ororo snorted coldly, crossing her hands. More thunder fell, and not just thunder—hail and storms followed in a series of attacks, driving all those tentacles back.

Seeing this, Ye Nan immediately mocked, "I don't know where you found such disgusting genes. But it seems you chose wrong; she's not that strong."

"Whether she's strong or not is not for you to decide." A sneer flashed across the Alien Queen's mouth. "You will soon see her true power."

"Is that so?" Ye Nan's expression remained mocking, but his heart grew tense.

The pink tentacles were very similar to the Queen's, and Ye Nan suspected this Alien Queen had absorbed the Queen's genes. The Queen was famous for her monstrous recovery ability; one could imagine how superb the Alien Queen's recovery would be.

"However..."

Ye Nan's gaze fell on the Alien Queen's tongue. The wound there was still oozing yellow liquid, showing no signs of rapid healing.

"It doesn't look like she obtained the Queen's genes."

If she had obtained the Queen's genes, the Alien Queen's injuries should have already healed. But looking at it now, that was clearly not the case.

A giant claw descended from the air. Just as Ye Nan wanted to dodge, he felt his feet fixed in place, unable to move at all...

Ye Nan looked down and saw a pink tentacle gripping his foot. This tentacle had extended from beneath the ship's steel plating, and some water—seawater—was bubbling up from below.

"The Alien's saliva corroded the steel plate."

Ye Nan's mind raced, and he immediately understood how the Alien Queen had done it: by using her corrosive liquid to melt the steel plate, extending through it into the seawater, locating Ye Nan's position, and then reaching up to grab him.

"Everyone be careful, the Alien Queen's tentacles can pierce the ship's steel plates and emerge from below," Ye Nan warned. He picked up his weapon and severed the tentacle, watching as some yellow venom oozed out and evaporated into the air.

"This venom is the Queen's venom."

Ye Nan was all too familiar with this highly volatile venom; it was clearly the Queen's. "It seems this Alien Queen really did obtain the Queen's genes."

A picture formed in Ye Nan's mind: after the Queen entered the spacecraft, she encountered the Alien Queen, and the two fought. The Alien Queen ultimately won and seized the Queen's genes. As for the Queen, perhaps she had escaped, or perhaps she had died.

"Hmph, better if she died; otherwise, it's just another headache." Ye Nan snorted coldly in his heart. He and the Queen were locked in a fight to the death; reconciliation was basically impossible, so he wished nothing more than for the Queen to die right in front of him.

"It's best not to let your mind wander during a fight." The Alien Queen's voice came over, accompanied by a sharp pain.

The Alien Queen's claw swiped over, piercing into Ye Nan's body. Bright red blood stained his shirt.

"I wasn't distracted." Ye Nan slashed backhand, from top to bottom, cleanly severing the Alien Queen's claw. "If you stick your claw out for me to cut, I won't go easy on you."

The moment Ye Nan slashed down, his body moved rapidly, but he didn't enter that state; he merely left at his normal speed.

His body was currently suffering from severe injuries; if he entered that state, he would be torn to shreds by the space-rebound force.

The Alien Queen stood in place, wailing. A large amount of blood flowed from her severed claw, and rage drowned out all her reason.

"You're dead, you're dead! In heaven or on earth, no one can save you!" The Alien Queen's eyes were full of flames of fury. Those flames burned violently within her; if she didn't vent them, they would burn her soul to ash.

"The debt of a severed claw shall be paid in blood."

The Alien Queen's figure suddenly blurred, her entire body turning into a remnant image. Just as Ye Nan wanted to jump away, he felt a sharp pain in his chest. His whole body flew out, slamming into the wall, shattering the secretions on it. The steel wall was also dented into a human-shaped crater.

After knocking Ye Nan away, the Alien Queen appeared in the spot where he had just been standing. She was panting continuously, clearly having exhausted much of her stamina in that last strike.

But the attack wasn't over. The Alien Queen pressed her advantage, using both hands and tongue, along with countless tentacles, to bear down on Ye Nan.

Ye Nan struggled, wanting to get up, but the sharp pain in his body left him unable to move. He could only watch helplessly as the Alien Queen bore down on him.

"Am I going to die?" Looking at the figure growing larger before him, a sense of sorrow suddenly welled up in Ye Nan's heart. This was the wail before death, a final attachment to life.

*Crack! *

Thunder suddenly struck from the sky. A bolt of lightning descended from the clouds, hitting the Alien Queen. The Alien Queen, who had been running rapidly, felt a wave of numbness and was unable to move.

"Be careful, Ye Nan." Ororo's voice came at the right time.

"Damn meddler, you shall die a horrible death!"

The Alien Queen looked at Ororo with venomous eyes, cursing her. If not for Ororo's sudden attack, she wouldn't have wasted such a good opportunity.

Ye Nan turned his head to look at Ororo, said a solemn "Thank you," then dropped from the wall. Step by step, he walked cautiously to the Alien Queen's side, raised his weapon high, aimed at the Alien Queen, and stabbed down fiercely.

"It's over, it's finally over."

Ye Nan felt a sense of relief in his heart. As long as the Alien Queen died, the other Aliens would be of no concern. The Alien race would soon be wiped from the face of the Earth.

"Earth does not welcome you. Get back to your space." (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to come to (.) to vote for recommendations and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.) ===== CHAPTER 235 =====
