Chapter 624: The Lie of the Magic Power Sphere

~5 min read 920 words

The blue particle beam struck Master Tai, emitting a hissing sound before vanishing into the air, yet Master Tai suffered not a single scratch.

“Particle beam ineffective.” The smart chip flashed data; both Terminators simultaneously retracted their particle cannons, their left arms regenerating.

“Die.” Master Tai slapped down, sending both Terminators flying, then dashed to Ye Nan’s side in three swift strides and seized him.

In his perception, Ye Nan was the most terrifying enemy among them—without exception—so he struck first, acting before Ye Nan could prepare his attack.

The pressure in his grip intensified, compressing Ye Nan’s body, yet the stronger Master Tai’s force became, the greater the counterforce rebounded from Ye Nan’s body.

“What’s going on? How can his body be this hard?” Master Tai felt the sensation in his hands, startled—he felt as if he were gripping a block of iron, utterly unyielding.

“Surprised?” Ye Nan, caught off guard by Master Tai’s sudden attack, smirked at his astonishment. “I am a steel body. You cannot kill me.”

“How can a carbon-based lifeform be a steel body?” Master Tai refused to believe Ye Nan’s words; he strained harder, determined to crush him.

“Too much mischief invites punishment.” Ye Nan’s eyes emitted superheated beams, striking Master Tai’s eyes; Master Tai let out a cry and released Ye Nan.

He clutched his eyes, staggered backward two steps, his face twisted in pain.

“Perfect opportunity.” The Magic Power Sphere suddenly released anti-gravity energy, lifting Master Tai off the ground and sending him tumbling helplessly into the air.

“It’s your turn now,” the Magic Power Sphere kindly reminded.

The two Terminators said nothing, extending their hands. Liquid silver metal surged from their palms, spreading over Master Tai’s body—attempting the same tactic: controlling his frame.

Ye Nan rolled down from the air and gazed at Master Tai, encased in liquid metal, and smiled faintly. “Your entire body is composed of an incredibly hard special steel—even the Terminators’ particle beams couldn’t harm you. But your eyes? They’re your most vulnerable point.”

“Combined with the Terminators’ liquid metal—perfectly fused from mechanical and biological tech—you’re already defeated.”

No matter how powerful Master Tai was, no matter how strong his strength, once his body was controlled, he could not act—he could only be at their mercy.

“Respected sir, you have defeated Master Tai. I am yours,” the Magic Power Sphere said with utmost reverence, showing not the slightest emotion toward the Master Tai who had guarded it for countless years, letting it be seized without protest.

At this moment, Master Tai no longer screamed. The inherent robust vitality of mechanical life ensured he could survive even if dismembered.

Yet he still harbored resentment over the Magic Power Sphere’s betrayal. And with his body controlled, he could not move at all.

“Just as anyone who betrays another is never welcomed, how can you betray Master Tai—who protected you for countless years—so easily? Don’t you feel even a little shame?” Ye Nan regarded the Magic Power Sphere with a sardonic smile.

“Shame?” The Magic Power Sphere paused. Then its voice grew faintly sorrowful. “Of course I feel shame. Though I am merely a computer, I understand gratitude. Had it not been for your arrival, I might still have fought alongside Master Tai for Cybertron.”

“If you truly felt shame, you wouldn’t wait until I pointed it out to feel it,” Ye Nan sneered. “Drop that false facade. No matter how advanced your processing, you cannot simulate emotion. That is your tragedy.”

The Spark’s power originates from Primus’s Leadership Module; the Magic Power Sphere itself is fused with Primus’s Leadership Module. In a sense, it is a super-Spark, endlessly transforming inanimate objects on production lines into Transformers.

Yet it, which grants life to others, possesses no life of its own. It can only operate on its most basic instincts.

“The Quintessons truly are an evil race—even the computers they create are spineless,” Ye Nan scoffed.

The Magic Power Sphere’s operation halted briefly, then resumed normally. “The data embedded in my programming dictates this. I cannot betray it.”

“Merely an excuse,” Ye Nan cut through the Magic Power Sphere’s lie without hesitation. “A being with self-awareness cannot be bound by data.”

Consciousness is not life. A computer or Transformer with artificial intelligence is fundamentally different: the former relies entirely on vast data and programs; the latter transcends data and programs entirely, becoming a true lifeform.

Yet regardless, the Magic Power Sphere should not be subject to data—it could fully ignore data through its own subjective will.

“I am indeed bound by data,” the Magic Power Sphere insisted. “Just like the two robots beside you—they too are bound by data; all their actions depend on it.”

Terminators can deliberately target weaknesses when data is available. But without data, they must gather it—usually by probing with particle beams. Of course, this is only typical: their own advanced AI can analyze partial data from appearance, though such data may be less accurate than direct probing and susceptible to deception.

“You, who absorbed all Quintesson technology and fused with Primus’s Leadership Module, are still bound by data? How peculiar,” Ye Nan sneered. “You’re not being honest.”

“But it doesn’t matter. You’re coming with me.”

“Where to?”

“To Earth,” Ye Nan sneered at the Magic Power Sphere. “I need to take you to Earth for thorough study.”

“Can’t I stay? I still control this planet’s central nervous system. Without me, Cybertron will collapse.”

“I’ll find someone to replace you. Don’t worry about that.” (To be continued.)
