Chapter 626
A desolate planet with extremely thin oxygen, sparse vegetation, and trees generally stunted due to its distance from its star; the entire world appeared dim, and its internal temperature was bitterly low, nearly enough to freeze water instantly.
This was a planet at the edge of the solar system, roughly four times Earth’s volume, with over half its surface shrouded in shadow; even the side facing the sun received no light, for it was too far from the sun.
“Right here?” Ye Nan looked at his wristwatch, slowly descending from space onto the planet’s surface.
“Yes. According to the probe’s scans, Superman Clark entered this planet and never came out again—we don’t know what he’s doing inside.” Ilis’s voice emerged from the watch, her figure appearing on the screen, “But can you really defeat Superman Clark?”
Ilis was worried; she still remembered how Ye Nan, in this body, had once fought Superman Clark to a standstill. She had no confidence in this body. “Why not wake your original self? He’s been asleep too long.”
“It hasn’t even been ten years—call that too long?” Ye Nan smiled slightly. “As for me, no need to worry. Even if I face him head-on, I can strike from behind—or call for help. Aren’t those guys already ready?”
Ye Nan referred to the forces Ilis had sent to hunt Superman Clark. Due to the vast cosmic distance and the planet’s harsh environment, they couldn’t reach him. Terminators weren’t affected by the environment, but they were no match for Superman Clark—neither particle cannons nor their physical strength or combat skills could harm him. Their presence here was nothing but an obstruction. Still an obstruction.
Some mutants possessed special energies capable of countering Superman Clark, and Ye Nan had previously collected mutant genes to build a mutant gene library. But mutants couldn’t survive in such a hostile environment.
As for superheroes like Hancock, they required time to be created, and Ilis had reservations—after all, Superman’s betrayal loomed ahead; no one knew who the next traitor might be.
Only Spider-Man Peter, Iron Man Hancock, Harry the Green Goblin’s son, and others could come—but they still needed time to arrive.
For all these reasons, only Ye Nan stood alone. He could wait for reinforcements, but he was confident—he believed he could defeat Superman Clark, and that confidence made him refuse to wait.
His super-vision scanned everywhere as he flew at light speed, circling the planet in a Ditanshi search.
Meanwhile, ripples appeared in outer space; one by one, reconnaissance satellites emerged. Once all had exited, a massive satellite followed.
The moment the satellite appeared, it unfolded its energy collectors, absorbing cosmic radiation, while its internal Ark reactor began generating power to sustain it.
In a space station orbiting Earth, 17.8 billion kilometers from this planet, Ilis and Smila continuously transmitted data.
“Satellite begins scanning the entire planet.”
“Super orbital cannon entering planetary orbit.”
“Super orbital cannon ready.”
A super cannon mouth, roughly three meters in diameter, continuously emitted blue light. The light gathered at the muzzle, accumulating rapidly until it formed a sphere resembling a lightning ball.
“Can the super orbital cannon kill Superman?” Smila asked hesitantly.
“I don’t know.” Ilis shook her head. “Superman’s steel body hasn’t been breached by anything yet. At best, overwhelming force can injure him. But whether the super orbital cannon works or not, it’s still a huge help to Ye Nan, isn’t it?” She winked playfully.
“True.” Smila replied, focusing on the screen.
She didn’t need to watch the screen—she had been processing all the data herself; she knew every image before it even appeared. But humans did this, so she mimicked them.
“Found him.” Ilis suddenly smiled. “Locking target.”
“Target locked.”
“Super orbital cannon—fire.”
As the cold mechanical voice echoed through space, the blue energy sphere shot from the dark cannon mouth, striking a forest below.
“Did it work?”
“Looks like not.”
On the screen, Superman Clark emerged from the flames, clad in clothes caked with grime, unrecognizable in color, his face gaunt, eyes glowing red. He looked toward Ye Nan, who flew in from afar, and smiled faintly.
“You finally came, Ye Nan.”
Ye Nan had sensed the massive energy strike the forest and rushed over immediately—just in time to see Superman Clark step out of the flames.
“You look like this?” Ye Nan frowned. The current Superman was unlike what he expected. Though gaunt, he hadn’t lost all trace of his original appearance. The cloning side effects shouldn’t have driven him to complete madness yet.
“Heh.” Superman Clark grinned as he approached Ye Nan. Suddenly, twin beams of super heat vision shot from his eyes, striking Ye Nan’s chest with lightning speed.
“Die!”
Having fought Ye Nan before, Superman Clark knew better than anyone his body’s resilience. He knew this level of heat vision couldn’t kill him—he had prepared a follow-up.
Superman Clark punched Ye Nan’s chest with immense force, sending him crashing from the sky. He followed down, smashing a fist into Ye Nan’s face, driving his head into the ground.
“False memories—all false. You liar.” Superman Clark grabbed Ye Nan’s collar and slammed another punch into his head, smashing it into the earth and cracking a deep hole.
“It’s not just this—I can do this too.” Superman Clark raised both fists, one left, one right, crushing them together—with Ye Nan’s head trapped between them.
“You can do that? I can do this too.” Ye Nan arched backward, instantly slipping free of Superman Clark’s grip and soaring into the air. To be continued.
