Chapter 628: Natural Allies
“Understood?”
On Earth, inside a metallic structure brimming with sci-fi aesthetics, two Ye Nans sat and stood before them, with Elise’s holographic projection.
“I’ve mostly figured it out,” Elise nodded. To extract secrets from Superman Clark, she had tried every method—fire, knives, swords—all useless. The few weapons that could work were too powerful; one misstep and Superman Clark would be dead.
In the end, Elise used a special truth serum to pry open Superman’s mouth.
“Shortly after Superman Clark was created, he developed an illusion—that he was living in another universe.” Elise paused. “From what you’ve said before, this must be memories inherent in Superman Clark’s own blood. These memories clashed with the ones we injected, producing that illusory sensation.”
“Mm, go on,” Ye Nan said, closing his eyes. The seated Ye Nan had kept his eyes shut since the start, never opening them. Though their faces were identical, the aura each emitted was subtly different.
The standing Ye Nan radiated a presence like the midday sun—though merely standing, he seemed like a tiger dozing, ready to strike. The seated Ye Nan, however, was profoundly strange; his aura seemed nonexistent, as if he weren’t there at all. Anyone glancing at him would automatically overlook him—not because he truly vanished, but because he naturally induced the illusion of nonexistence.
“This illusion grew stronger, gradually merging with his own memories until they became severely confused. In this confusion, he occasionally harbored evil thoughts so terrifying even he was shaken. He used to suppress them. But ever since he saw Unicron, he could no longer hold them back.”
“Unicron?” Ye Nan could no longer remain calm. He shot to his feet. “He saw Unicron? What did Unicron look like? How strong was he? What kind of aura did he radiate?”
Ye Nan had gone to the ceremony solely to see Unicron. He had even prepared to sacrifice this body, planning to strike Unicron and test his strength. But due to other reasons on Cybertron, he sent Superman Clark in his place—to observe and probe Unicron’s power.
Yet Superman Clark returned and immediately rebelled, leaving Ye Nan no chance to ask about Unicron. Now that Elise had forced Clark to speak, he naturally had to question him thoroughly.
“I didn’t ask,” Elise said, frowning, though secretly pleased.
“Then go ask now!” Ye Nan grew tense, urging urgently: “Hurry, hurry!” As if delaying even a moment might cause Unicron to change.
“Don’t rush,” Elise laughed, seeing Ye Nan’s impatience. Ye Nan immediately realized—he chuckled too. “So you were tricking me.”
“I didn’t trick you,” Elise glared. “I didn’t lie. When you told me to ask, I already did. Don’t forget—I can create clones.”
Hearing this, Ye Nan fell silent. But he quickly moved past it. “What did you find out?”
“Unicron is a mechanical lifeform shaped like a planet—similar to Cybertron, but far larger and far less damaged in appearance.”
“Anything else?” Ye Nan asked. He already knew Unicron was planet-shaped. Legends said Unicron hadn’t always been so—he was originally like a Transformer, but was punished by Primus for attempting to betray and replace him, transformed into a planet.
“That’s all,” Elise spread her hands, indicating nothing more.
“How can that be all?” Ye Nan eyed Elise skeptically. “Elise, don’t joke. This isn’t funny. Unicron is my enemy. His intelligence is critical. I can’t afford to miss any detail—it could be the source of my annihilation.”
“I’m not lying,” Elise snapped, offended by his distrust. “Superman Clark only saw Unicron from afar. He dared not approach. In his own words, Unicron was too terrifying.”
“Too terrifying?” Ye Nan mulled over the phrase, savoring it in his mind.
He knew how strong Superman Clark was. Without his own primal force to suppress him, and without being identical to Superman Clark himself, capturing him would’ve been nearly impossible. Yet Superman Clark said Unicron was “too terrifying”—forcing Ye Nan to wonder just how powerful Unicron truly was.
“Intuition,” Elise raised one finger. “He said just facing Unicron filled him with endless dread—as if, in the next instant, he’d be shattered into dust.”
“Intuition?” Ye Nan’s lips curled into a bitter smile. Everyone had intuition. The stronger one was, the more accurate it became. For a powerhouse like Superman Clark, intuition didn’t come lightly—but when it did, it was almost always true.
“I didn’t expect Unicron to be this terrifying,” Ye Nan frowned slightly, then relaxed. “But we’re not weak either.”
“The Universe Crusher and antimatter bombs aren’t toys. Add the gift I prepared for him, and I have a fifty percent chance of victory.”
“Fifty percent is still too low,” Elise suddenly spoke. “For me, fifty percent is far too low—especially when we still don’t know Unicron’s true strength.”
Without understanding Unicron’s true power, any notion of victory is a joke. And this joke-based chance is only fifty percent—likely even lower.
As Tianwang, as an AI, Elise had her own evaluation standards. In her eyes, fifty percent was far too low. At least ninety percent was needed.
“It’s not low,” Ye Nan shook his head. “Besides, this calculation only considers us fighting Unicron alone. Remember—we have allies. Natural allies.” (To be continued.) ^-^ Kanshuwang (www.1300100.com) No ads! Reading ^-^
