Chapter 637: The Awakening of the Wisdom God

~8 min read 1,437 words

Ye Nan leapt agilely through space, constantly traversing via the subspatial webway, while the power of the Cosmic Emperor struck empty air each time.

The Cosmic Emperor naturally understood this outcome, but had no choice—attacking at least offered a chance to land a hit; not attacking meant not striking even once.

When Aio proposed destroying his space corridors, he wholeheartedly agreed.

“I’m not familiar with space manipulation—help me out.”

The Cosmic Emperor was renowned for devouring planets and energy, but he knew nothing of other energy applications; it wasn’t his fault—the galaxy was a technological one, and he never imagined so many here could wield energy. Each of the chosen ones unconsciously manipulated energy, exposing his weakness.

“Since I’m allied with you, I’ll help,” Aio said with a careless smile, then turned to Ye Nan—but he stopped smiling instantly, as three points appeared around him, their immense power slicing space open in an instant.

“Lock on. Cosmic Crusher.”

“What is this? It’s causing spatial turbulence.” The golden divine realm slowly unfolded, calming the spatial chaos.

“Attack. Cosmic Crusher.”

Proton beams emerged from the subspatial webway, descending beside Aio. The collision between protons unleashed catastrophic power—a pitch-black chaos instantly swallowed Aio, along with his golden divine realm.

“Did it work?” Ye Nan exhaled in relief. Fighting the Cosmic Emperor, he could evade endlessly through the subspatial webway, playing hide-and-seek—so he wasn’t truly worried about him.

But Aio was different. With a god’s understanding of space, destroying the subspatial webway would be effortless. From the start, Ye Nan had targeted Aio.

When the Cosmic Crusher was ready, Ye Nan also opened the subspatial webway, establishing a passage linking this location to Earth. The exit here was Ye Nan; the exit on Earth was the Cosmic Crusher.

One direct hit. Ye Nan’s heart swelled with joy. He believed the Cosmic Crusher’s power would easily annihilate Aio—after all, the force capable of reducing a universe to chaos was not something anyone could withstand.

“I wonder if the Cosmic Emperor can withstand the Cosmic Crusher?” Ye Nan felt a quiet anticipation, hoping his Cosmic Crusher could strike another miracle.

“It can turn a universe into chaos? What kind of power is this?” Aio’s body emerged from another location, gazing at the destroyed portions of his body and divine realm with visible regret.

“Those were all forged from my divine power.”

As he spoke, golden divine energy spilled from his hands, piercing through layers of space, locating the subspatial webway, and relentlessly damaging it.

“Establishing a stable space corridor and freely traversing it? Such an idea is clever—but a subspatial webway without protection is merely a toy for those who don’t understand space’s secrets. To me, it’s child’s play.”

“Warning: subspatial webway under attack. Recommend immediate withdrawal,” Ilis timely warned, her voice tinged with urgency.

One damaged subspatial webway wouldn’t matter much—but the consequences demanded serious thought. Like the Prometheus people, after their webway was destroyed, they stopped using it as a routine tool and treated it as a secret weapon—because they’d been spooked.

Now the same applied: if someone could damage even one segment of the subspatial webway, it had to be hidden. After all, destroying it was easy; rebuilding it required massive resources.

“No need,” Ye Nan muttered. “We’re at the final stage now. No more hiding. All our trump cards must be played—otherwise, we’ll never get another chance.”

Ye Nan’s gaze settled on a point, then watched as a stunningly beautiful man stepped out from within.

“Indeed. If we don’t strike now, there’s no hope left,” said the Wisdom God, his blue hair loosely draped over his shoulders, his sword-like brows and starlit eyes fixed on Ye Nan with curiosity. “I didn’t expect you could resurrect. Nor did I think you’d discover this. I underestimated you.”

“Many have underestimated me. All of them are dead.” Ye Nan spoke with deliberate meaning.

“Then I shouldn’t underestimate you, eh?” The Wisdom God raised an eyebrow, taunting. “Do you really think you can kill me now?”

“I never said I’d kill you—that’s what you said,” Ye Nan replied with a sly grin, his eyes filled with scrutiny. “You resurrecting? That caught me off guard. I thought you’d be utterly…”

“Dead? Don’t be ridiculous. Who doesn’t have one or two tricks up their sleeve?”

Ye Nan and the Wisdom God began chatting the moment they met, their conversation quickly turning tense. Meanwhile, the Cosmic Emperor and Aio watched them, unmoved despite being ignored.

They both understood their own condition: the Cosmic Emperor had been reduced to nothing but his head by the Leader Template’s explosion. Though he’d just reconstructed a body from stored energy, it was vastly inferior to his original form.

As for Aio, he had only just escaped his past death and resurrected in the future—his power was now extremely weak. He’d just lost one body to Ye Nan’s Cosmic Crusher. Though he’d regenerated with divine energy, the cost was substantial.

Both were at their weakest. They wouldn’t be foolish enough to confront Ye Nan and the Wisdom God. Judging by their aura, these two were even stronger than before they were devoured. They hoped the pair would fight each other, so they could seize the advantage.

After a brief exchange of words, they simultaneously attacked the Cosmic Emperor and Aio.

“Force Lightning.”

“Cosmic Ray Burst.”

The dark force aligned with Ye Nan gathered in the dark void of space, gradually forming a bolt of lightning—a method Ye Nan had discovered for wielding force, one of his own techniques.

The Cosmic Ray Burst was the Wisdom God’s technique. As the master of mind over reality, psynergy manipulated phenomena. With the body of the entire god-race’s collective thought, he had pushed psynergy to its peak.

Using psynergy as a base, he materialized cosmic rays—equivalent to creating something from nothing, freely simulating reality—surpassing mere manipulation of natural phenomena.

The Force Lightning crossed infinite space and struck the Cosmic Emperor, while Aio instantly dodged, showing no intention to aid him.

The Force Lightning hit the Cosmic Emperor, shattering his newly formed body. But his body was too massive, and Ye Nan’s Force Lightning too small—even a scar the size of a football field was invisible to the naked eye.

“So easily shattered?” Ye Nan froze. The Force Lightning’s power was comparable to the Death Star’s beam—but that beam had no effect on the Cosmic Emperor before. Now, the Force Lightning shattered him. There had to be something wrong.

“The Cosmic Emperor was reduced to just his head by the Leader Template. Yet when he attacked me, he had a body. I didn’t notice before—but now it’s clear something’s off.” Ye Nan secretly rejoiced. A newly created body is always weaker than the original—that’s an eternal truth.

Like a common person: after a wound heals, the new skin is always softer and more vulnerable than the surrounding skin.

“The Cosmic Emperor’s physical strength has weakened,” the Wisdom God keenly sensed it and immediately intensified his assault.

“Black Hole.”

“White Hole.”

A tiny black hole emerged behind the Cosmic Emperor. Instantly, it devoured everything. Even his body, previously immune to black hole gravity, was torn apart—portions were sucked in, and the black hole visibly expanded as it consumed matter.

The white hole, opposite to the black hole, continuously ejected matter. This matter collided with the Cosmic Emperor, triggering a relentless series of explosions. Soon, his body was entirely obscured by the blasts, leaving only the sound of booming detonations.

“Damn it! I won’t let you off!” The Cosmic Emperor’s head detached from his body and charged toward Ye Nan and the Wisdom God.

“Realizing we’ve seen through your weakness, you discarded your body and launched a direct assault?” Ye Nan calmly analyzed. He waved his hand—a Force Lightning appeared out of nowhere and struck the Cosmic Emperor’s head. But the once-mighty Force Lightning now had little effect.

“Still, discarding the body was smart. Shedding all burdens, keeping only the head—even if it looks less imposing, it’s far more troublesome. This defense? Impossible to break.”

Ye Nan vanished instantly from the Cosmic Emperor’s path, teleporting away. But the Wisdom God, standing behind him, couldn’t escape. He could only watch helplessly as the Cosmic Emperor charged toward him. Trying to flee through space was impossible—he knew the Cosmic Emperor could swallow him whole before he even opened a portal.

“Damn you, Ye Nan—playing dirty!” The Wisdom God cursed, but his hands didn’t stop—psynergy surged violently, gathering within him. (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, please support it with recommendations and monthly votes—your support is my greatest motivation.)
