Chapter 118

Is this promotion?

Chen Qiao really didn't know how to evaluate Lu Yu's promotion.

At that moment, on the homepage of Grand's official website, a picture was hung up, a sketch.

This sketch is exactly the one Lu Yu drew earlier in Xie Lin's studio.

Of course, this picture has still been refined; although it hasn't been colored, it can also be considered a fine work.

But……

Isn't this still a bit too monotonous?

"The card game Hero Kill is about to go online; please look forward to it."

"Please guess which historical figure this is."

This is all the publicity content for Hero Kill; it's so simple that people…… can't accept it.

And compare it with Mr. Qin's video?

Chen Qiao really didn't know what to say.

Grand is the hottest game company in the country; the influence of Legend needs no further explanation.

So, when Grand's official homepage had a new move, countless people immediately surged over.

Then…… the comment section below Grand's official website was already full of messages and comments.

"Tell me! What is this? Is this Grand's new game? I can't understand it at all!"

"Without a doubt, this girl is quite pretty, but who can tell me what meaning this sketch has?"

"Is Grand short of funds? They don't even have money for coloring?"

"No way, no way, Grand's new game is just this?"

"I already have a feeling; this time Grand's new game is absolutely not worth mentioning!"

"It's also a card game; now I can only look forward to Grand Plan's new game."

All of them…… are not good reviews.

You should know that those who come here to leave comments are almost all Grand's die-hard fans; now these die-hard fans' attitude toward Grand is like this!

Chen Qiao can almost be certain that Hero Kill is already done for!

At least according to Chen Qiao's past experience, that is indeed the case.

Look at the comments in the comment section!

Chen Qiao feels that Lu Yu probably messed up this time.

But……

Chen Qiao didn't say much about this, after all, it was Lu Yu's decision.

Even if it's a mistake, Chen Qiao can only bear the consequences.

……

Inside a certain club.

Mr. Qin slowly put down the cigar in his hand.

"What do you mean by Lu Yu doing this?" Mr. Qin looked at the middle-aged man beside him.

This middle-aged man is exactly the chief game planner of Grand Plan.

Both Sword and Distant Lands and Conquest are his works.

Qin You is still Mr. Qin's cousin, and had been working abroad all along.

This time, if it weren't for Mr. Qin's request, Qin You would not have returned to the country.

In Qin You's view, the domestic game environment is really terrible, and game developers lack any imagination.

In other words, Qin You feels he cannot exert his true abilities domestically.

He thus became arrogant, looking down on everyone.

As for Legend's success and Sword and Distant Lands' failure, in his view they were merely a fluke.

"What could Lu Yu possibly mean? He's just run out of talent."

"From the fact that Legend was released two days before our Sword and Distant Lands, we can see that Lu Yu is a show-off seeking popularity."

"Legend's appearance was merely a flash of inspiration."

"Lu Yu can no longer produce more and better games."

Qin You said that, and also thinks that.

Mr. Qin didn't speak, just furrowed his brows.

"Rest assured, this time our Conquest will surely dominate the field."

"Conquest will vindicate Grand Plan!"

"Eventually everyone will realize who is the top figure in domestic games!"

Qin You is full of self-confidence, his eyes glowing.

Mr. Qin, however, still remained silent.

He couldn't find words to rebut, because he also couldn't see through Lu Yu's thoughts.

At least from the current situation, Lu Yu's actions are being despised.

So, is Lu Yu really out of talent?

Mr. Qin very much hopes this is the fact, but……

He faintly feels that something is off.

……

The next day, Lu Yu had Chen Qiao change the banner on Grand's official homepage.

At this moment, there were two figures on the poster.

The figure on the left was a female version of Zhuge Liang wearing light armor, while the figure on the right was a female version of Zhuge Liang wearing Confucian robes.

The copy read: "Did you guess correctly?"

Indeed, the three large characters "Zhuge Liang" were placed beside each figure.

Then……

The comment section of Grand's official website exploded again.

"Holy shit! This is Zhuge Liang? What a joke! When did Zhuge Liang become a girl?"

"When did Zhuge Liang become a warrior?"

"This is absurd! What on earth is Grand doing?!"

"I'm disgusted! This is the most improper Zhuge Liang I've ever seen."

"The classic in my heart has been ruined! Grand has harmed me!"

Everyone was blaming.

The comment section was uniformly filled with negative reviews of the female Zhuge Liang, all condemning Grand.

Seeing this, Chen Qiao was genuinely anxious!

For a large company, reputation is absolutely the most important thing.

If a publicly listed company spreads any bad rumor, its stock could even plummet to the bottom in an instant.

Because of a bad rumor, destroying a large publicly listed company has happened before.

"Little Yu…… the netizens' mood is off right now; we…… should we take down the poster?" Chen Qiao came to Lu Yu's office and said this.

Lu Yu, however, remained calm, looking at Chen Qiao and saying: "Uncle Chen, don't worry."

"Accepting new things always requires a process."

"I believe in these netizens' ability to accept."

"You know, they are the most trendy people of this era, and their ability to accept new things is also the best."

"Believe me, soon…… everything will change."

Chen Qiao wanted to speak but stopped, ultimately saying nothing.

He believed in Lu Yu, and could only believe in Lu Yu.

……

In fact, what Lu Yu said was not wrong.

Chen Qiao didn't even have to wait long.

By the afternoon, the situation underwent a huge change.

"Take a close look, the female Zhuge Liang isn't unacceptable; this girl is quite pretty and looks pretty strong."

"I like this version of Zhuge Liang; who says we girls can't be as smart as Zhuge Liang?"

"Who said strategists can't be warriors? Li Bai still roamed the world with his sword; why can't Zhuge Liang go onto the battlefield?"

"Whatever you say is useless; anyway, Zhuge Liang is mine!"

Sometime ago, the netizens…… had already accepted the setting of Zhuge Liang being a girl.

And once they accepted this setting, everyone found they could no longer stop liking Zhuge Liang!

At once, countless netizens turned the female Zhuge Liang's photo into their desktop icon.

Some liked the lightly armored Zhuge Liang, while others thought the strategist‑styled Zhuge Liang looked better.

Therefore……

The two sides actually started arguing!
