Chapter 70: Grand Crisis

This is already the third day since Mo Du University of Science and Technology won the championship of the International Cybersecurity Competition.

At this moment, in the computer lab, the students' expressions were mostly… painful!

After the competition ended, Professor Chen…… assigned them an even heavier task!

This task was so heavy that even with Lu Yu's help, they could only barely finish it before evening.

Professor Chen said, 'Since you are now champions, you should do what champions should do.'

Obviously, winning the championship was not all Professor Chen cared about; he was still most concerned with the research of his own project.

Under these circumstances, Lu Yu……

He also became even busier.

Before, Professor Chen actually always gave Lu Yu enough freedom.

Now…… Professor Chen's attention to Lu Yu has increased, and the tasks assigned to Lu Yu are more than before.

So, these past few days, Lu Yu has also been very busy.

However……

Being busy represents fulfillment.

Professor Chen's research project also sped up under these circumstances.

Now the project has already entered the final sprint stage!

……

Grand's atmosphere these past few days has become very solemn.

At this moment, inside Chen Qiao's office.

Chen Qiao sat in the chief seat, with the representatives of each department seated below him.

This is already the third leadership meeting in recent days!

In the past, there weren't even several such meetings in a year.

The topic to be discussed at the meeting still concerns Lu Yu.

It is still because Lu Yu hasn't come to Grand these days, yet he occupies Grand's most important resources, this matter.

Last time, Chen Qiao interrupted the discussion with a firm attitude.

But…… the staff of the Technical Department also developed resentment because of this.

Furthermore, behind the scenes, that guy Wang Xin is fanning the flames, so things naturally are developing toward the worst possible direction.

Grand is a game company.

The operation of a game company almost always points to the Technical Department.

For example, when a game has bugs, customers complain, or when a game is developed……

One can say that a game company can lack other departments, but without a Technical Department it certainly cannot continue.

When the Technical Department has problems, the whole company has problems.

Therefore, the heads of each department have found Chen Qiao for the third time.

They have no choice either!

Now…… they have made a suggestion.

"Director Chen, why don't… we just resign."

"Without the Technical Department's support, how can we continue our work?"

These are the exact words spoken by the head of a certain department.

Because of this remark, there is now no sound at all in the meeting room.

But…… the heads of the other departments did not lower their heads; instead, they fixed their eyes tightly on Chen Qiao.

The problem…… has indeed become this serious!

Chen Qiao at this moment also has difficulties to speak of.

In recent days, he has been feeling very uneasy.

He wanted to contact Lu Yu in the past, but…… he felt that doing so would be a lack of trust in Lu Yu.

Before, Lu Yu had said, didn't he, that he would create a game to compete against Mr. Qin?

Creating a large-scale online game requires time, from conception to data organization, then to starting development……

Without several months, what effect could there be?

Although up to now, he still hasn't seen Lu Yu.

But Chen Qiao believes that Lu Yu is surely working hard in silence.

So……

It's too hard!

Dong dong dong!

Again at this moment, a knocking sound came from outside.

Everyone couldn't help but turn their gaze toward the door.

At this time, there shouldn't be anyone knocking on the door, right?

"Come in." Chen Qiao let out a sigh of relief; at least the atmosphere that had almost made him suffocate just now temporarily disappeared.

The person who entered was Lu Yu!

……

After entering the office, Lu Yu was stunned; he hadn't expected there to be so many people here, moreover…… they were all the heads of the departments.

Lu Yu politely greeted everyone, then turned his gaze to Chen Qiao.

He came today, naturally, for the development of 'Legend'.

In fact, although he spent most of these days in the Computer Lab, he still did part of the Legend's settings.

Lu Yu never forgot Grand.

Professor Chen's topic is very important, but the development of Legend is equally important.

But now...

Lu Yu discovered that everyone was staring at him.

"What's going on?" Lu Yu couldn't help asking.

Chen Qiao's mouth twitched, he thought for a moment, then said to everyone: 'You all go back first, the matter... I will talk to Lu Yu about it.'

Everyone looked at each other, all having the intention to leave.

After all, Chen Qiao is still Chen Qiao, the founder of Grand, this face should still be given.

"Director Chen! Since Lu Yu is also here now, why not... we will make things clear in front of Lu Yu." Suddenly, Wang Xin's voice sounded.

Everyone stopped and looked toward Chen Qiao.

Chen Qiao's brows were tightly furrowed, his expression instantly turned unpleasant.

His gaze fell even more on Wang Xin.

Wang Xin did not shift his gaze, and locked eyes with Chen Qiao.

Chen Qiao hesitated for a while before saying: 'You all should still leave first.'

Everyone was about to move again.

"What happened? Is it related to me?"

"Then say it in front of me."

But at this moment, Lu Yu spoke.

The office fell silent again.

Chen Qiao was torn between two sides.

The others were filled with apprehension and anticipation.

Wang Xin?

Wang Xin shouldn't be too happy right now.

He had just spoken, actually already taking a risk.

But his response was very appropriate, and Chen Qiao would only see him as an employee wholeheartedly for the company.

But who would have thought that Chen Qiao's intention to protect Lu Yu was actually so profound.

Wang Xin even thought the matter would just fizzle out.

Who knows...

Lu Yu actually walked straight into the gunfire himself.

Truly, heaven helps me!

After hearing Wang Xin's description, Lu Yu's brows also involuntarily furrowed.

He... knew he really lacked consideration.

The technical department's dissatisfaction was actually foreseeable, and Lu Yu also had a way to resolve it.

But during this time, his mind was all on the competition, neglecting Grand here, causing the problem to grow.

He fell silent.

"That... Xiao Yu, I know you're working hard, so..." Chen Qiao broke the silence, wanting to ease Lu Yu's embarrassment.

"This matter is my fault." Suddenly, Lu Yu spoke.

Then, the office fell silent again.

Wang Xin's brows were tightly furrowed, his expression instantly turned unpleasant.

This Lu Yu... actually took the initiative to admit fault!

The matter... became troublesome.

Lu Yu is after all a child. If he admits fault, how could the adults present possibly make things difficult for him?

And then... Grand's crisis was just resolved like that?

"Before, I didn't express it clearly."

"Next, I'll explain my arrangement."

As Lu Yu spoke slowly, the meeting room became deathly silent.
