Chapter 90: Mr. Qin's New Move

"You sign a contract," Xie Lin stared at Lu Yu with his eyes fixed.

Lu Yu smiled and said, "I can teach you all the techniques I know; I don't need anything from you, and I don't need a contract."

Xie Lin couldn't help but furrow his brows; he couldn't understand.

Some of Lu Yu's techniques are epoch‑making; at least Xie Lin hasn't seen them in any book!

This can be called a supreme skill, a priceless treasure!

"Why?" Xie Lin asked.

"If you insist on a reason, I can only say... I am confident that before you finish the background art for Legend, you won't leave Grand, nor will you leave me."

"Because in the meantime, I have enough for you to learn."

Lu Yu said with a smile.

After all, he's not from this era and possesses a wealth of knowledge that this era lacks.

Xie Lin was silent for a moment, then his brows couldn't help but furrow again.

He thought Lu Yu was a bit too arrogant.

But... what does that have to do with him?

He just wants to learn Lu Yu's techniques.

"Fine, but let me be upfront: I'm here only to learn."

"When I feel there's nothing left to learn, I'll leave."

"In other words, without a signed contract, I can walk away at any time."

Xie Lin said so.

"No problem," Lu Yu said with a smile.

That was too easy to agree to!

Xie Lin realized he truly couldn't figure out Lu Yu.

"Then... let's start right now," he said, and Lu Yu was already walking toward the outside.

……

Lu Yu had Chen Qiao set up a studio for Xie Lin.

Over the next period, Xie Lin practically lived here.

Every day... he was busy.

Every day, he thought that perhaps the next day he would leave.

But he discovered... each day Lu Yu always brought him something novel.

So... after day after day, Xie Lin found he actually couldn't leave.

Many years later, when Xie Lin, now a nationally renowned master, gave an interview, one of his paintings was already worth a million!

The reporter asked him many questions.

Reporter: "Mr. Xie, how did you meet Mr. Lu? And what drives you to constantly follow Mr. Lu?"

Xie Lin smiled and said, "I was tricked into coming here. But... I'm willing."

Then, Xie Lin, in front of the reporter and the whole nation, continued: "Lu Yu is the person who shaped my whole life; without Lu Yu, I wouldn't be who I am now."

……

In the following period, Lu Yu entered a busy phase.

He intentionally accelerated the game's development pace.

But the busiest weren't him; it was... the Computer Lab's students and Xie Lin.

In this situation, the tech department staff voiced complaints!

Because... their work never touched the core.

Up to now, they don't even know what game Grand is making.

Wang Xin has been feeling depressed during this time.

As a spy, he... can't obtain any information.

In recent meetings with Mr. Qin, he could clearly sense Mr. Qin's displeasure.

He knows that if this continues, he shouldn't even think of extracting any benefit from Mr. Qin.

So...

Wang Xin is about to take action.

Construction goes from nothing to something, so it's often very difficult.

But destruction is just a thought away.

Regarding destruction, Wang Xin does have some insight.

……

Grand Plan, the company where Mr. Qin works, has a new move.

"Grand Plan's latest event."

"Compete for the inner-side qualification of Sword and the Distant."

"From now on, Sword and the Distant opens registration qualification."

"Until the inner side, selected players will receive at least a thousand‑yuan reward!"

"The inner player slots are tentatively set at a thousand."

"Daily sign‑ins increase your chance of being selected."

"Act quickly!"

That's the entire content of Grand Plan's event.

As of now, such rewards and such an activity method are actually nothing.

But!

You should know this is an era when there were hardly any decent online games.

The sign‑in system can be said to be rare.

A reward of a thousand yuan per thousand people is unprecedented!

Nobody had ever heard that playing games could actually earn money!

Mr. Qin is indeed a master of game operations.

Or saying he is a genius in this regard is not an exaggeration.

After the Grand Plan event was announced, the entire internet boiled over!

Whether they usually play games or not, at this moment everyone came to the Grand Plan website and registered an account.

For a time, Sword and Distant Horizons seemed to become a national game.

I never thought playing games could actually earn money, and all it takes is a light click—this activity is awesome.

This sign‑in system is quite interesting; watching the boxes fill each day feels good.

Just for this awesome Grand Plan, I will definitely download Sword and Distant Horizons when it releases.

Countless netizens posted their comments online.

For a time, there were countless news items about Grand Plan online.

Indeed… at this moment the only news nationwide was the Grand Plan event announcement.

Such terrifying heat and attention would be almost impossible today.

But Mr. Qin managed to do it.

One could say that the day Sword and Distant Horizons was released was when it came to dominate the entire internet.

An expert posted a microblog, and the expert said:

Domestic games have already reached a bottleneck.

Without a doubt, people's lives are now improving.

While material needs are satisfied, people's spiritual demands are increasing.

But at present, entertainment development actually can't keep up.

Grand Plan is clearly here to change this phenomenon.

One can imagine that if Sword and Distant Horizons does not differ too much from its promotional video, it will surely sweep everything like a raging wind.

……

Grand, inside Chen Qiao's office.

He naturally saw Mr. Qin's announced activity, and the current trend on the internet.

His expression became extremely solemn, so…

Chen Qiao looked toward Lu Yu.

Little Yu… should we also do some activity to raise Legend's fame?" Chen Qiao asked.

Lu Yu raised his eyebrows slightly.

He was actually quite surprised.

I never expected Mr. Qin to be this good at it!

The sign‑in system is the best thing for increasing player stickiness.

This will naturally become common later, but right now it is novel.

First, this term can always represent many things.

That expert's analysis is not bad; Grand Plan's rise is unstoppable!

But…

If Lu Yu were not in this era, Chen Qiao and Grand would probably really collapse.

Facing an opponent like Mr. Qin, nobody can afford to underestimate him.

But…

Since Lu Yu is here, then…
