Chapter 1819: Elder Minghu and the Six-Eyed Demon King
Over at Longshe Shan, everyone was in high spirits, and the rivalry between his sister-in-law and his younger sister was intensifying; both sides were finding ways to raise their cultivation, neither wanting to lose the next battle—otherwise, it would be very embarrassing.
Many people were watching; this battle was being observed by many. If Shang Hongchen won, that was to be expected—after all, her cultivation spoke for itself. If she lost, now that would truly be a joke.
The next battle became the top priority and something everyone looked forward to.
Tianwai, Lingzhou.
Elder Minghu of the Heavenly Heart Sect entered the Hundred Thousand Great Mountains and sought out the Six-Eyed Demon King alone. He avoided everyone else, avoided the other Demon Kings, not wanting to be noticed by them, and arrived at the Six-Eyed Demon King's location to meet him.
The Six-Eyed Demon King sent someone to receive him, and the two met formally. Elder Minghu bowed and said, "Tiger-Slaying Elder of the Heavenly Heart Sect greets the Six-Eyed Demon King."
Tiger-Slaying Elder Luo Minghu bowed formally, not daring to be negligent, nor daring to skip the courtesy. The other party was a Demon King—the renowned Six-Eyed Demon King. Every Demon King who could claim the title of king was no simple figure; each had climbed out from mountains of corpses and seas of blood, their ability and strength both terrifying.
The Six-Eyed Demon King was also a veteran Demon King; his full strength could not be ignored, and he was not someone Elder Minghu could provoke. When a weak one faced a Strong One, naturally they must hold a heart of respect—otherwise, they would be taught a lesson.
"So it is the Tiger-Slaying Elder of the Heavenly Heart Sect. I wonder what brings you here in person? This king recalls that we have no ties with your Heavenly Heart Sect." The Six-Eyed Demon King asked with a smile. He knew this person's purpose and knew what the Heavenly Heart Sect wanted to do—he was simply asking what he already knew.
Elder Minghu said with a smile, "Lord Six-Eyed Demon King, I have come this time to invite Your Lordship to join forces and invade the Mangshan Mountain Range, to deal with the Mangshan Demon Palace. Afterward, the Mangshan Mountain Range will be yours, Your Lordship. We only want one mountain peak's worth of people."
The people on Longshe Shan were all their enemies; they had to be killed, or rather, captured, and the passage through which they left had to be found so they could be wiped out in one sweep. That world was more worthy of attention than the Mangshan Mountain Range. Besides, the Mangshan Mountain Range was rich in resources—not something their Heavenly Heart Sect could covet.
Tian Du Men and the Jichen Sect were not so easy to deal with, and the same went for the Heavenly Sword Sect. The forces of Cangzhou would not let the Mangshan Mountain Range fall into other hands, especially the forces of their Lingzhou. Even if they destroyed the Mangshan Demon Palace, they might not be able to control it.
They could conveniently use the antagonism between the Six-Eyed Demon King and the Mangshan Demon Palace, letting the Six-Eyed Demon King stand at the front, and then achieve their goal. The Mangshan Demon Palace had grown stronger and was not easy to deal with; even the Six-Eyed Demon King might not succeed.
If they could wear them down, why not?
As for who lived and who died, Elder Minghu did not care, and the Heavenly Heart Sect did not care either. Whoever died would benefit them.
If they could draw the Myriad Demon Palace into making a move on Cangzhou, that would be even better. That way, they could sit on the mountain and watch the tigers fight, then reap the spoils as the fisherman.
The Six-Eyed Demon King asked curiously, "Which mountain peak?"
Elder Minghu answered, "Longshe Shan."
"Oh?" The Six-Eyed Demon King knew of Longshe Shan, but he was not very familiar with this mountain peak, nor did he know much about it.
"May this king know why?"
Longshe Shan—he had heard of it but never investigated it. Even if he had, there would not have been much information.
He knew that the Dragon-Herding Family was also searching for Longshe Shan and also wanted to deal with the people of Longshe Shan. A mountain peak that could interest both the Heavenly Heart Sect and the Dragon-Herding Family was certainly not simple. Could there be some secret hidden within?
"It is not impossible. The existences within Longshe Shan are enemies of my Heavenly Heart Sect. I suspect that remnants of the Azure Dragon Bloodline exist inside, which is why we want to find a way to kill the people there." Elder Minghu only revealed one of the reasons. The most important reason, naturally, he could not tell him.
They also did not want the Six-Eyed Demon King to set his sights on that world, although the Myriad Demon Palace was also interested in that world.
They were merely interested and had not yet reached that point.
They simply considered it one more place to be herded, that was all. An existence at the Demon King level would not care about such a small world.
That world hid a great secret, one that only the people of the Heavenly Heart Sect knew, and only a few high-ranking members at that. It absolutely could not be leaked.
"Remnants of the Azure Dragon Clan? Are you certain?" The Six-Eyed Demon King grew interested. The Azure Dragon Bloodline was one of the bloodlines he desired. Back when the Azure Dragon Clan was annihilated, he had contributed some effort and reaped some benefits.
Otherwise, how could he have sat securely on the throne of Demon King? The Azure Dragon Bloodline was truly excellent. If there were still remnants, would that not be…?
"To report to Your Lordship, this matter is one hundred percent certain. The remnants of the Azure Dragon Clan are hidden within Longshe Shan. He uses the Mangshan Mountain Range to conceal his aura, developing in secret. Unfortunately for him, he was still exposed."
"All members of the Azure Dragon Clan must die. We cannot let them return."
They all understood the principle of raising a tiger to invite disaster: if you do not pull up the roots when cutting the grass, it will grow again when the spring wind blows.
The moment remnants appeared, they had to be slain immediately, giving them no chance to grow. This was a feud of extermination between clans—absolutely irreconcilable, a fight to the death.
Either they would be annihilated, or the Azure Dragon Clan would be slaughtered. There was no third option.
Once the other side was allowed to grow, then all the forces that had acted back then would face retaliation. The Azure Dragon Bloodline was very powerful; once blinded by hatred, the Azure Dragon Clan would become extremely terrifying.
"The Mangshan Mountain Range belongs to this king? Your Heavenly Heart Sect is willing to part with it?" The Six-Eyed Demon King asked, narrowing his eyes.
What he cared about was this point. The remnants of the Azure Dragon Clan were indeed appealing, but right now, he did not need them very much, nor were they a must-have. The Mangshan Mountain Range, on the other hand, he needed very much. Whether he could advance further, whether he could break free of the Myriad Demon Palace, depended on this.
He had always wanted independence, but his strength was insufficient, and he had no territory, so he could not become independent.
Which Demon King attached to the Myriad Demon Palace did not have ambition? Who did not want to advance further?
The other Demon Kings were just like him, thinking of all sorts of methods, only they kept it hidden and tucked away, not showing it. In reality, the movements of those Demon Kings were no small matter, no less significant than his own movements. It was just that a tacit understanding existed among them, and no one had pointed it out.
This was the tacit understanding between Demon Kings: each schemed on their own, to see who could achieve Advancement.
"Naturally we are willing to part with it. Your Lordship also knows that the Mangshan Mountain Range is too vast; even if given to our Heavenly Heart Sect, we could not garrison it. However, we do have one condition." Elder Minghu asked tentatively.
"Speak." The Six-Eyed Demon King was in a good mood. He waved his hand and let him speak.
"After Your Lordship takes the Mangshan Mountain Range, my Heavenly Heart Sect hopes to establish a partnership with Your Lordship to trade for the spiritual medicines and various resources of the Mangshan Mountain Range." Elder Minghu stated his request. The spiritual medicines and various resources of the Mangshan Mountain Range were the most tempting.
"No problem. This king also needs pills and various weapons from your human race. As long as the price is right, this king agrees." The Six-Eyed Demon King was naturally willing to trade; for both sides, there were benefits.
"Then, here is to a pleasant partnership, Your Lordship."
"A pleasant partnership."
The two reached out their hands and reached a preliminary cooperation.
