Chapter 11: Arriving at the Capital, Upper Echelons Tremble

~6 min read 1,186 words

At one o'clock in the afternoon, on the vast tarmac of the Canglong Military Region, a low‑profile painted transport aircraft landed here.

It was not an ordinary military transport; its airframe lines were smoother, clearly specially modified to provide the highest safety level for aerial transfer.

The cabin doors opened slowly, and several men in civilian clothes, with a crisp bearing, stepped down the ladder first.

Seeing this, General Liu Zhijun personally led Qin Hao, Cheng Haitang, and Zhou Wei forward.

"Greetings, I am Liu Zhijun, the person in charge of the Canglong Military Region," Liu Zhijun stepped forward and shook hands with the leading man.

"Commander Liu, a pleasure. I am Wang Ming, the head of the special task force responsible for this transfer."

The other party gave a standard military salute, speaking concisely.

Without much small talk, after a brief handover, Qin Hao, accompanied by Liu Zhijun and Cheng Haitang, boarded the aircraft.

Zhou Wei, Xiao Li, and Xiao Zhang remained temporarily in the military region, awaiting further instructions.

What lay ahead was beyond their rank's involvement; the strict secrecy and hierarchical management were evident.

The cabin interior was comfortable, yet the atmosphere remained solemn.

Qin Hao sat by the window, watching the ground scenery shrink rapidly, feeling an indescribable complex emotion rise within him.

His life's trajectory had undergone an earth‑shattering change in just one day.

From an ordinary youth hustling for a living to now riding a special plane to the capital.

It all felt too surreal, as if a dream.

The plane flew smoothly for several hours, and by evening they arrived at their destination.

The airport was also military‑only, heavily guarded; at the runway's end, a few black sedans could be seen waiting.

Stepping off the plane, the sharp night wind, mixed with the capital's heavy aura, hit them, while guards shadowed them, sealing them off from any breach.

The party was taken directly to a manor, quiet and surrounded by verdant pines, yet the security level was extreme,

a guard post every three steps, a sentry every five.

The sedan finally stopped before an antiquated, elegant house.

Led by several black‑suited, imposing guards, Qin Hao and the others followed inside.

They were then guided to a spacious, minimalist hall.

Several distinguished elders were already seated in the hall.

Although they wore different clothes, all shared deep eyes and a powerful aura,

a presence forged by years of high office and strategic command.

They were all sent from above to handle this matter.

None of the people present were known to Qin Hao.

This made him somewhat nervous.

"The people have already arrived."

After Liu Zhijun said this, he and Cheng Haitang stepped forward and offered a standard military salute.

"Commander Liu, Comrade Haitang, thank you for your hard work."

Among the elders, one smiled and nodded, his eyes showing gentle approval.

He was the special envoy sent from above specifically for this matter—Luo Lao.

Finishing, Luo Lao's gaze turned to Qin Hao, "So this is Junior Comrade Qin Hao, right? Come, come, sit quickly!"

"If you don't mind, you may call me Luo Lao; I will handle everything from now on."

Qin Hao promptly nodded, "Greetings, Luo Lao!"

At Cheng Haitang's cue, he sat on the sofa near Cheng Haitang, his body involuntarily straightening, his palms slightly damp.

"We already know your situation. However, for matters like this, seeing it with our own eyes is still the safest."

The Rote Commissioner spoke calmly.

As his words fell, everyone's gaze turned to Qin Hao.

Being stared at by so many, Qin Hao couldn't help but feel nervous.

Nevertheless, he managed to perform the demonstration.

When everything was done, the room fell into dead silence, a pin could be heard dropping.

All present were high‑ranking, worldly individuals who had weathered countless storms, unmoved even as Mount Tai collapsed before them.

Yet the scene before them still left them deeply shocked.

The Rote Commissioner's eyes were profound, his body leaning back slightly, resting against the chair back, silent for a long while.

Silence spread through the room, each second feeling unusually long.

Qin Hao felt his palms sweat again, even hearing his own pounding heartbeat.

Finally, Luo Lao spoke slowly,

"I, Yanhuang Guo, for decades have endured hardship, strengthened ourselves, seeking only peace and strength. Today, Heaven blesses our Yanhuang people!"

Each word struck the hearts of everyone like a massive hammer, resonating deeply.

A hint of moisture rose in the eyes of the other elders.

They recalled how difficult it had been since Yanhuang Guo's founding, the countless hardships endured to reach the present state.

"Given Comrade Qin Hao's system abilities, this concerns national core security and future development plans."

Luo Lao's gaze swept over everyone present,

"Higher authorities have already decided to immediately establish a special leadership group codenamed 'Xingyu', fully responsible for all matters concerning Comrade Qin Hao and his system!"

"The group will include the top heads of the military, research, intelligence and other fields. Commander Liu and Comrade Haitang, you will temporarily join the group and cooperate."

"Yes!"

He and Cheng Haitang answered in unison, their expressions solemn.

Hmm! Then let's do that for now! Comrade Xiao Qin, you've also worked hard on your way here; you should rest well tonight. Other matters can wait until tomorrow.

Luo Lao said to Qin Hao, then had someone arrange lodging and other matters.

After Qin Hao left, several elders remained seated, their gaze either deep or in contemplation.

Special Envoy Luo Lao did not rush to speak; he picked up the tea cup beside him, took a light sip, and his gaze swept over everyone present.

After a moment, he set down the tea cup and broke the silence.

"Let everyone speak."

He turned to his old partner Zhang Yunfeng beside him and said, "Old Zhang, first tell us your opinion."

Zhang Yunfeng nodded, cleared his throat,

"After learning of this matter, I immediately retrieved all of Qin Hao's personal records."

From his birth, to his entering the orphanage, then to his post-graduation work experience, and even to his recent financial and living situation, a detailed investigation was conducted.

He paused for a moment, then continued:

"One could say that Comrade Qin Hao's file is as simple as it can be—an utterly ordinary orphan who, from a young age, excelled in both character and studies and was hardworking."

After starting work, he had no bad record; he initially used the system's ability to indeed improve his life, copying gold to exchange for money, which was also expected and a normal human reaction.

"However, when he saw the news report about the foreign technology blockade, he resolutely chose to report it to the country,"

and he showed a clear awareness of the system's future upgrades and concern for his own safety."

Zhang Yunfeng said, his tone carrying obvious admiration,

"Through our recent contact and his performance, I personally believe that Comrade Qin Hao is pure-hearted and possesses the simplest patriotic sentiment."

"He also understands how to closely link personal destiny with the nation's future; such awareness is rare and precious."
