Chapter 28: Saga captured and imprisoned

~7 min read 1,209 words

PIA Headquarters.

Cheng Xin stared wide-eyed; the blood-soaked history sealed in dust on the sky curtain struck her face like a resounding slap, fiercely.

It burned with pain.

She had just earnestly declared that humanity was a peace‑loving species, insisting the Nomarte people must be lying.

As it turned out, the truth was so vile and cruel.

But she quickly broke free from shame,

She spoke to Wei De's back in a more stubborn, naïve tone.

"Although… although humans once invaded the Nomarte people, the two groups can absolutely live in peace!"

"If everyone just lets go of hatred and lives harmoniously on the same planet, how could there be so much bloodshed!"

Wei De couldn't even be bothered to turn and look at her.

He merely watched the sky curtain with interest, having long lost any interest in refuting that woman's cheap, hollow kindness.

He was now more curious,

that mighty being known as Ultraman Saga,

after personally witnessing the very race he had sworn to protect,

seeing how filthy and bloody its origins truly were,

what choice he would make.

Would he continue to guard it… or… destroy it?

Within the sky curtain,

the endless light that had devoured the All-Star Team finally faded, and he returned to reality.

He staggered back a step, returning to the cold, hard floor of the research facility.

Before him still lay that huge black coffin, but in his world everything had changed.

That millennia‑spanning bloody history, the desperate wails of countless Nomarte people, the greedy, savage faces of humanity's ancestors—all turned into a crushing weight that pressed down on his heart.

The humanity he had sworn to protect…

the homeland he had fought for…

turned out to be built upon an endless sea of blood and lies.

Just as he sat there, heavy‑hearted, torn within,

"Bang!"

The research facility's heavy metal door was slammed open violently!

Rows of dark‑clad guard troops surged in, their black, cold gun barrels all pointed at the All-Star Team standing in the center of the room.

A man wearing a staff officer's shoulder insignia entered, escorted by a crowd of soldiers.

Staff Officer He Zhi.

He fixed the All-Star Team with a scrutinizing, hostile gaze.

"All-Star Team member, what are you doing sneaking into the top‑secret research facility in the middle of the night?"

His voice held not a trace of warmth.

"Take him away!"

At the command, two fully armed soldiers rushed forward, one on each side, and roughly grabbed the All-Star Team's arms.

The All-Star Team offered no resistance.

He simply let the soldiers escort him to the base's interrogation room.

A cold metal chair, a blinding interrogation light.

Staff Officer He Zhi sat opposite him, hands crossed on the table, adopting a judgmental posture.

The All-Star Team, who had stayed silent, finally lifted his head.

He did not defend himself, but spoke in a nearly pleading tone.

"Staff Officer He Zhi, I… now know the full truth of humanity's invasion of Earth."

"We can't keep making the same mistake! We must immediately confess to all civilizations in the universe the crimes we have committed and do everything we can to make amends!"

"Only then will humanity avoid straying further down the wrong path and falling completely into ruin!"

Hearing this, He Zhi's pupils contracted, a naked killing intent flashing across him.

He locked eyes with the All-Star Team and said, word by word:

"Impossible!"

"If the universe learns that Earth‑born humanity's roots are this bloody and filthy, we will instantly become the target of everyone's scorn—seen as an inferior species by all civilizations!"

The All-Star Team, however, persisted.

"Making a mistake isn't scary; what's scary is making a mistake and lacking the courage to admit and correct it!"

"We must make the fact of our aggression public! We must make reparations!"

Staff Officer He Zhi stared coldly at him and finally squeezed out two words from between his teeth.

"Stupid."

Afterward, the All-Star Team was thrown straight into a tightly guarded solitary cell.

Meanwhile, Staff Officer He Zhi immediately summoned all the military's top brass for an emergency secret meeting.

In the conference room, the atmosphere grew oppressive to the extreme.

Staff Officer He Zhi stood before the projection screen and, addressing the assembled military leaders, spoke in a low voice.

"Gentlemen, humanity's top‑secret 'Omega File,' hidden for over ten thousand years, has been fully learned by a member of the Ultraman Guard named the All-Star Team."

He paused, then dropped a veritable bombshell.

Furthermore, according to our tests, we can now be 100% certain that this All-Star Group is none other than the red giant that has been active on our Earth all along—Saiwen! Saiwen Ultraman!

Upon saying that, the entire assembly gasped!

We… should kill Saiwen.

Staff Officer He Zhi's voice was ice‑cold, devoid of any feeling.

Only then can our human secret be kept hidden forever! Only then can we continue to stand in the universe under the guise of peace!

As his words died away, the conference room fell into deadly silence.

A young man hesitated before speaking: "Ultraman Saiwen… after all, he has helped humanity countless times. Without him, we would probably have been destroyed by the endless stream of monsters long ago. Doing this… wouldn't it be too ungrateful?"

However, his voice was quickly drowned out by a louder, harder voice.

"Ungrateful? Is this really the time to discuss that? If the truth leaks, our entire human civilization will face annihilation! Compared to that, what's sacrificing one alien?"

"Exactly! He knows a secret he shouldn't, so he must die!"

"I agree with Staff Officer He Zhi's proposal!"

"Agreed!"

The military high‑rankers present hardly hesitated before reaching this vile, shameless consensus.

That is, kill Ultraman Saiwen!

Black Tortoise warship.

Huo Linfei saw this, trembling with rage, and slammed his fist hard onto the control panel.

"Are these bastards even human? Ungrateful white‑eyed wolves!"

He pointed at Staff Officer He Zhi's cold face on the screen and shouted abuse.

"Covering up your sordid history of aggression is bad enough, but now you want to kill Ultraman Saiwen, who has always protected you? Saiwen has helped humanity so much, and you'd treat him like this?"

At this moment, Huo Linfei burned with rage, wishing he could rush straight into the screen and beat every so‑called human leader into a pig's head.

Inside the Three‑Body Fleet,

An officer in charge of strategic analysis transmitted his thoughts clearly.

"These humans are indeed as despicable as I thought. I believe Saiwen Ultraman has by now seen their true nature completely."

"Next, he will surely break out of prison, then mercilessly kill these ungrateful humans who cover up the facts. He will aid the true indigenous Nongmaerte people and return to the land!"

Cybertron.

Weizhen Tian watched the absurd scene on the screen and finally burst out laughing with unrestrained glee.

"Hahaha! Ultraman, who claims to be the embodiment of justice and the guardian of the universe—what a joke! All you've done is aid tyrants!"

His massive metal finger pointed at the ugly group of human leaders on the screen.

"Look, Ultraman! Look at these weak, despicable, ungrateful little worms! This is the very thing you'd risk your life to protect—how ridiculous! Hahaha!"
