Chapter 167: A Heavy Price

"It was just a misunderstanding before," Lin Feng said.

"A fine misunderstanding!"

Bai Qubing sneered repeatedly, saying with a look of disdain, "You were arrogant and overbearing when you bullied my granddaughter, but now that you need help, you call it a misunderstanding. You are truly interesting!"

Bai Yuhui had also chased inside by this moment, and after throwing down a basin, she said angrily, "You are truly too insolent. Did my grandfather tell you to come in before you ran inside? Do you know who my grandfather is? With one word from him, he could make it so you can't walk out of Jinling!"

Lin Feng did not waste words, asking in a deep voice, "What exactly do you want me to do for you to be willing to help?"

Bai Qubing said, "Don't waste your efforts. You humiliated my granddaughter in public, causing her to lose all face. How can I, as her grandfather, swallow this anger? No matter what you say or do now, I will not help you. Get out!"

Lin Feng did not leave.

Not only did he not leave, but he took three steps forward and suddenly grabbed a pair of scissors used for pressing paper on the table.

"What do you want to do?"

Bai Yuhui was greatly startled and hurriedly shielded Bai Qubing behind her.

Bai Qubing, however, gently pushed Bai Yuhui aside, then looked coldly at Lin Feng and said, "Since soft tactics don't work, you want to try hard ones? But who are you going to scare with a pair of scissors? Come, come, come, if you have the ability, then strike me. I want to see if you have the guts!"

But Lin Feng did not pick up these scissors to scare Bai Yuhui and Bai Qubing at all.

If he really wanted to use force, he wouldn't need these broken scissors at all; his two fists alone would be more than enough!

"Medical Immortal Bai, my younger sister was captured and brought here by the Jinling Han Family. I was anxious to save someone last night, so I was irritable, which is why I was impolite to your granddaughter."

"Now my sister is suffering from a severe poison, and I have no medicinal herbs on hand. With all my skills unable to be put to use, I have no choice but to come and seek your help."

"Since you hold a grudge against me because of your granddaughter, I will now make amends to you both!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Lin Feng grabbed the scissors and stabbed them fiercely into his own left arm.

Bai Qubing was greatly shocked, and Bai Yuhui let out an unbelievable gasp, but Lin Feng's movements did not have the slightest hesitation.

Only a *squelch* sound was heard, and bright red blood flew into mid-air, like blooming flowers of blood.

Lin Feng pulled the scissors out from his left arm, bringing out a spray of blood, and a blood hole the size of a finger remained on his arm!

"You... you..."

Bai Qubing seemed to be truly stunned, and for a moment, he didn't know what to say.

As for Bai Yuhui, her mouth was wide open, and her two small hands were pressed against her chest, as if her heart would jump out of her ribcage if she didn't do so!

But Lin Feng did not stop, and he stabbed fiercely once more!

A *squelch* sound rang out again, and a second blood hole immediately appeared on Lin Feng's left arm!

"Young man, are you forcing me!"

Bai Qubing finally came to his senses, slamming the table and shouting sternly.

Bai Yuhui cried out urgently, "Stop, you must stop, don't hurt yourself anymore, I forgive you, is that not enough..."

However, Lin Feng still did not stop, and he stabbed his left arm once more.

Bai Yuhui was terrified and trembling all over, hurriedly running over to grab Bai Qubing's hand and saying, "Grandfather, hurry and nod, otherwise someone is really going to die!"

"No! I, Bai Qubing, have walked the world for decades, and no one has ever been able to force me!" Bai Qubing said stubbornly.

Suddenly, a cold sneer came from outside.

"Bai Qubing, the older you get, the more airs you put on. Does a dignified Medical Immortal really have to watch a fine young man die in front of him before he is willing to stop!"

Hearing this voice, Bai Qubing's expression changed again.

The next moment, a middle-aged man with a square face walked in with large strides.

Furthermore, this man was wearing a Dragon Soul uniform; one could tell at a glance that he was a member of Dragon Soul, and he also exuded a slight aura of someone in a high position!

"Who are you?" Lin Feng asked with a frown.

The man cupped his hands in a salute and said, "Greetings, Mr. Lin. I am the Jinling General Captain, Lei Dong. Just now, Jiangbei General Captain Yang Zhenting contacted me via urgent telegram to explain your situation, fearing that you might act on impulse and cause trouble in Jinling, so I hurried over to find you."

"How did you know I came to Qubing Medical Hall?" Lin Feng asked.

"Mr. Lin, you underestimate our Dragon Soul's intelligence-gathering capabilities," Lei Dong laughed.

Glancing at Lin Feng's blood-soaked left arm, Lei Dong said, "Mr. Lin, there is no need for this. We in Dragon Soul will have a Nine Sun Soul Returning Grass before long, which can help your sister detoxify."

"I cannot wait. My sister has already been poisoned, and it is the Lost Soul Fern poison, one of the Ten Great Strange Poisons in the world. The deadline for the antidote is only three days," Lin Feng said.

"What? It is actually the Lost Soul Fern poison? No wonder Mr. Lin, you are so desperate for medicine..." Lei Dong was greatly shocked, his face changing color.

Seeing Lei Dong like this, Lin Feng knew he couldn't help; seeking medicinal herbs from Dragon Soul would be too slow, so he looked at Bai Qubing again.

"Medical Immortal Bai, it was indeed my fault for humiliating your granddaughter on the high-speed train, but is the price I am paying now not enough to make amends? No matter how much anger you have in your heart, it should be gone by now, right?" Lin Feng said in a deep voice.

Bai Qubing was furious, roaring, "Did I tell you to do this? This is not making amends at all; you are clearly forcing me!"

"Very well, then tell me the terms, and I will do as you say," Lin Feng said.

Bai Qubing, however, could not speak.

Lin Feng had already used scissors to self-mutilate his left arm, and a full three times at that; could he really let Lin Feng die?

"Grandfather..." Bai Yuhui looked at Bai Qubing pitifully, pleading aloud.

General Captain Lei Dong also said, "Medical Immortal Bai, Mr. Lin has already reached this point; are you still unwilling to help? Don't you often have the words 'saving the world with a medicine gourd' on your lips? Why have you suddenly changed your mind today?"

"These are two different matters!" Bai Qubing said angrily.

"Medical Immortal Bai, I will kindly remind you: Mr. Lin's identity is not simple. He has a senior sister..."

Had Yang Zhenting actually told Lei Dong that his senior sister was the head of the Eight Great War Gods?

It seemed Yang Zhenting was afraid Lei Dong wouldn't take it to heart and would just brush it off, so he had given special instructions.

But Lin Feng did not like to use power to suppress others, so he blocked him, saying, "General Captain Lei, do not say what should not be said; there is no need to use status to pressure people."

Lei Dong hurriedly shut his mouth.

But Bai Qubing was no fool; even though Lei Dong had only said half of it, he had already caught the drift!

But now that things had become so tense, suddenly backing down would be a great loss of face.

Bai Qubing therefore said, "You young man act too overbearingly. My granddaughter only accidentally misunderstood you on the high-speed train, and you humiliated her in public. Now you have done such a thing as self-mutilation without a word, and you are even forcing me to accept it. You are truly extremely unreasonable."

"You must know that the rigid are easily broken; if you continue like this in the future, you will sooner or later suffer a great loss!"
