Chapter 195: The White River Association of Jinling
"This is the Dragon Kingdom; how dare you call us the 'sick man of East Asia' on our own turf? I think you have a death wish!"
Lin Feng said coldly, and with just a slight exertion of force, he made the blond foreigner kneel on the ground.
The surrounding customers all began to applaud, and some even cheered for Lin Feng.
A look of excitement appeared on Lin Wei's face, and she even cast a look of admiration toward Lin Feng.
Yet, Lin Feng felt no ripples in his heart; after all, this foreigner was not even a Martial Artist, so hitting him was no different from hitting a three-year-old child.
Therefore, not only did he feel no sense of accomplishment, but he even felt a sense of bullying a small child.
"Get lost, don't let me see you again, otherwise I'll beat you every time I see you!" Lin Feng scolded, then released his hand.
The blond foreigner scrambled up from the ground in a panic and ran toward the door in a rush, like a stray dog.
He didn't even have the courage to look back at Lin Feng, let alone utter any harsh words.
Returning to sit opposite Lin Wei, Lin Feng said, "I thought this freestyle fighting champion would be quite capable; it turns out he doesn't even have the strength to fight back."
"Brother, you are a Martial Emperor; a mere freestyle fighting champion naturally means nothing to you," Lin Wei said with a smile.
Not long after, the food was brought over.
Lin Wei tasted it with an intoxicated expression, a faint blush hanging on her face, like a red apple about to ripen.
Lin Feng was also quite satisfied with the food at this Western restaurant, so he tucked in heartily.
In the afternoon, Lin Feng continued to accompany Lin Wei shopping and even went to watch a movie.
By the time the two of them came out of the cinema, it was already past nine o'clock in the evening.
"Xiao Wei, we should go home," Lin Feng said.
Lin Wei, however, did not want to go back so early; she pulled Lin Feng's hand and said, "Brother, let's have dinner before we go home; otherwise, we'll have to cook for ourselves when we get back."
"That's true, so what do you want to eat now?" Lin Feng asked with a smile.
Lin Wei immediately pulled Lin Feng into a small eatery by the side of the street.
Lin Feng looked at the environment of this small eatery and couldn't help but frown slightly.
Although this small eatery looked quite clean, both the tables and stools were wiped bright and clean.
But one look at this small eatery told you it had been around for years; the interior decoration was very old, with the flavor of ten or even twenty years ago.
"Are you sure you want to eat here? Why not go to a big restaurant?" Lin Feng said.
"This place is fine, I think it's alright," Lin Wei said.
It was at this moment that a little girl of only six or seven years old ran out from the back kitchen in a hurry and said quickly, "Big Brother and Big Sister, just eat at my house; the hot and sour glass noodles my mom makes are delicious!"
Lin Wei couldn't help but laugh; she smiled and touched the little girl's head, asking, "Little girl, how old are you?"
"I'm six years old!"
The little girl said, her chubby face showing that she was well-nourished.
Lin Wei asked again, "Are you helping your mom solicit customers here? You're so young and already know how to help the adults; you're so sensible."
The little girl became embarrassed, her cheeks turning red.
It must be said that this little girl was truly likable; she was so cute and naive that it gave one the urge to give her a good squeeze.
Since that was the case, Lin Feng said, "Alright then, let's eat here."
After sitting down, Lin Wei took the menu and ordered two large bowls of hot and sour glass noodles, also ordered a meat burger, and ordered a drink for herself and a beer for Lin Feng.
The little girl held a small notebook, and whatever Lin Wei said, she recorded; the expression on her little face was very serious.
Lin Wei curiously leaned over to take a look, then burst into laughter.
"For the 'la' (spicy) in hot and sour glass noodles, why did you write it in pinyin?" Lin Wei asked.
"I... I don't know how to write that character," the little girl said very embarrassedly.
Afterward, the little girl asked, "Have you finished ordering? Once you're done, I'll go tell my mom; please wait here for a moment, it will be ready soon."
"Then hurry up, our stomachs are almost empty from hunger," Lin Wei said with a beaming smile.
So the little girl took the notebook and ran toward the back kitchen, almost slipping as she entered.
Watching her stumbling figure, Lin Wei's eyes narrowed into crescent moons.
"Brother, if you and sister-in-law have a daughter in the future, it would be great if she were this cute," Lin Wei said.
"If you like it, then have one yourself," Lin Feng said irritably.
"I don't even have a boyfriend, how can I have one?" Lin Wei said, pouting.
"Then hurry up and find one," Lin Feng said.
After about ten minutes, two large bowls of steaming hot and sour glass noodles were placed in front of Lin Feng and Lin Wei.
Lin Wei only tasted one mouthful before she beamed with joy and gave a thumbs up.
Seeing that Lin Wei was very satisfied, the proprietress beamed.
"I'm not bragging, the hot and sour glass noodles I make are the best on this street; everyone who has eaten them praises them endlessly," the proprietress said with great animation.
Lin Wei looked at the empty shop and asked with some confusion, "Then why is your business so bad here, with only us eating?"
Hearing this, the expression on the proprietress's face suddenly became extremely ugly.
She sighed and said helplessly, "Isn't it because of the people from the White River Association?"
"White River Association?" Lin Feng showed a look of confusion.
"Sigh, it's better not to mention it."
After the proprietress finished speaking, she went to the back kitchen to get busy.
Lin Wei pulled out a tissue to wipe her mouth, then curiously asked, "Brother, have you heard of this White River Association? Could it be some kind of dark, evil force?"
"I haven't heard of it, but I'll know once I ask."
As Lin Feng said this, he took out his phone and sent a message to Lei Dong.
Lei Dong immediately called back, asking tentatively on the phone, "Mr. Lin, why are you suddenly interested in the White River Association? Did the people from the White River Association provoke you?"
"I only happened to hear about this Baijiang Society; you explain to me what kind of organization this is," Lin Feng said.
Lei Dong then said: "The Baijiang Society is a hooligan group with three or four hundred people, and the president is named Li Baijiang."
"This Baijiang Society doesn't dare commit major crimes, only daring to bully ordinary people, and the base of the Baijiang Society is the Baijiang Nightclub in the center of Jinling City; the owner of this nightclub is, of course, Li Baijiang."
Lin Feng said displeased: "Lei Dong, with such a criminal gang in Jinling, why is Dragon Soul indifferent?"
"How could Dragon Soul intervene in such trivial matters? This is a matter for the Jinling Police to handle," Lei Dong said somewhat awkwardly.
Dealing with such a small hooligan group, Dragon Soul taking action personally really does feel like using a cannon to kill a mosquito, so Lei Dong saying this cannot be considered shirking responsibility.
Lin Feng asked again: "Then why doesn't the Jinling Police handle it?"
"It's not that they don't handle it, but that it's hard to handle; Li Baijiang is a shrewd person, he never takes action personally, and even if some matter is committed, it is done by his subordinates, so the Jinling Police can only arrest his subordinates and cannot implicate him."
