Chapter 292: Three Corpses
"Do you think I would make such a low-level mistake?" Lin Feng said, annoyed.
"Then why on earth..."
Before Hu Lili could finish her sentence, three spherical objects appeared in Lin Feng's hand.
These three spherical objects were all golden and the size of walnuts; it looked as if some spherical items had been wrapped in a layer of gold foil.
"What is this?" Hu Lili was incredibly curious.
Lin Feng said: "This is a type of Spirit Pill called a Toxin Avoiding Pill. As long as you take it, you can neutralize the vast majority of toxins."
Hearing Lin Feng's words, Hu Lili immediately reacted.
"You suspect we were poisoned and started hallucinating, which is why we kept going back and forth and walking in circles in the same spot?" Hu Lili said.
"Correct. Although I cannot be certain right now, there is no harm in trying."
As Lin Feng spoke, he peeled the gold foil off the surface of the Toxin Avoiding Pills and handed two of them to Hu Lili, who immediately gave one to Cheng Jiajia.
Lin Feng swallowed the remaining Toxin Avoiding Pill without hesitation, while Hu Lili and Cheng Jiajia only hesitated for a moment before popping the Spirit Pills in their hands into their mouths.
They were not afraid at all that Lin Feng would play tricks with the pills; after all, if Lin Feng wanted to harm them or had any improper intentions toward them, he could simply do it directly.
Given his strength, they were absolutely unable to resist, so he had no need to use such underhanded, petty tactics.
The Toxin Avoiding Pills took effect very quickly. Lin Feng soon discovered that some kind of toxin in his body had been neutralized by the pill. Hu Lili and Cheng Jiajia were not as sensitive as Lin Feng; they only felt that their bodies were warm and very comfortable after taking the Toxin Avoiding Pill.
"We were indeed poisoned. It is a very insidious type of toxin. The specific effects are not yet clear, but it definitely has something to do with us walking in circles here," Lin Feng said.
"Then should we continue moving forward now?" Hu Lili asked.
"Yes, let's go."
After Lin Feng finished speaking, he strode forward, and Hu Lili and Cheng Jiajia immediately followed.
This time, Lin Feng, Cheng Jiajia, and Hu Lili did not return to the original location. After walking for only about half a minute, they reached the end of the corridor.
The end of the corridor was blocked by two heavy iron doors, the surface of which was mottled with rust.
Moreover, an arrow forged from refined steel was deeply embedded in the gap at the center of the iron doors.
Without Lin Feng needing to explain, Hu Lili and Cheng Jiajia could figure out that this arrow was the one Lin Feng had just fired by hand.
"The facts prove that my judgment was correct," Lin Feng laughed.
Hu Lili and Cheng Jiajia both cast admiring glances at Lin Feng, but even while being looked at by the two women with such eyes, Lin Feng felt no ripples in his heart.
"I wonder what is behind these two doors; it might be the main tomb chamber," Hu Lili speculated.
"Whether it is or not, we will know once we open them."
As Lin Feng spoke, he pushed open the two doors, while Hu Lili and Cheng Jiajia used their wolf-eye flashlights to shine inside.
It was a relatively spacious hall. There were clay statues in the hall, but because too much time had passed, most of the clay statues here had collapsed, and the faces of the remaining ones could not be seen clearly.
Cheng Jiajia lowered the beam of her wolf-eye flashlight to the floor and then let out a scream.
Because there were three corpses lying on the floor of this hall!
They were wearing some kind of professional waterproof gear and had backpacks on; one look and it was clear they were very professional.
But they were all dead here, with no sign of life.
"De... dead people..."
Cheng Jiajia was so scared she wanted to scream, so Hu Lili hurriedly covered her mouth.
Lin Feng said: "There is nothing to be afraid of with dead people. Follow me and just walk around these few corpses."
As soon as he finished speaking, Lin Feng entered the hall and walked toward the other end.
At the other end of the hall, there were two identical large iron doors; it was clear that this was the gateway to the next location.
Perhaps the next place would be the main tomb chamber.
Hu Lili and Cheng Jiajia hurriedly followed in Lin Feng's footsteps and entered the hall.
The three corpses on the ground were terrifying. Although they had not yet rotted, their expressions were ferocious and horrific, and their faces were even twisted, as if they had suffered some kind of torture before they died.
Hu Lili and Cheng Jiajia were both frightened pale, and the legs of both girls were trembling as they walked.
Lin Feng said: "Don't worry, I am here. Even if these three corpses suddenly jumped up, I could turn them into fly ash."
Hearing Lin Feng say this, the unease and panic in the hearts of Hu Lili and Cheng Jiajia finally lessened significantly.
But just at this moment, Lin Feng suddenly stopped and abruptly turned his head to look at the three corpses.
"What is it, Lin Feng?" Hu Lili asked hurriedly, her heart in her throat.
Lin Feng pointed at one of the three corpses and said: "I just saw that corpse's chest heave once."
"What did you say?" Hu Lili was shocked.
Cheng Jiajia, however, said: "Could it be that the corpse is breathing? Are they actually not dead yet?"
"No, they are definitely dead. I did not sense the aura of a living person from them; they are as cold as stone," Lin Feng said very firmly.
"Since they are dead, how could their chests move? Lin Feng, did you see wrong?" Hu Lili asked again.
It was at this moment that Hu Lili and Cheng Jiajia also saw the chests of the three corpses move.
Their chests rose and fell slightly, truly as if living people were breathing.
Seeing this scene, Hu Lili and Cheng Jiajia were scared to death and retreated repeatedly.
Lin Feng opened his Dragon Pupil and looked toward the three corpses.
The next moment, Lin Feng suddenly said: "You two, back away! These three corpses are not right. There is something inside their chest cavities, and it is about to come out!"
Hu Lili and Cheng Jiajia were terrified and lost their wits, stumbling backward.
Almost at the same time, the chests of the three corpses exploded together, and countless red moths flew out from their chest cavities, gathering into a red cloud in the air and pressing down toward them, blotting out the sky.
Hu Lili and Cheng Jiajia immediately let out terrified screams, and Lin Feng's expression also changed slightly.
"So it is a Ghost-Face Moth..." Lin Feng said.
"What is a Ghost-Face Moth?" Hu Lili asked, screaming.
"I'll explain later, let me deal with these things first."
As Lin Feng spoke, he circulated his True Qi and threw a punch; Nine Fire Dragons immediately flew out from his arm and fist, spiraling upward to intertwine with the red cloud.
Boom!
A violent explosion of fire occurred; countless moths were turned to ash by the flames, while some that had not yet been reduced to ash fell powerlessly from the air.
The entire hall was filled with a thick, scorched smell; this odor was very similar to the smell of burnt protein, but it was also mixed with a foul, fishy stench.
