Her green eyes were completely cold.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Listen to me very carefully,\" Roxy said. She didn’t shout. Her voice was terrifyingly calm, smooth, and sharp like a brand new knife. \"You are a sad, pathetic coward who thinks he can grab women just because he is bigger than them. You are nothing.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The guy whined, trying to wiggle free, but Roxy just pushed his arm a tiny bit higher. He let out a loud gasp of pain.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"If you ever grab a woman like that again,\" Roxy warned, her voice dropping into a dark, dangerous whisper that carried over the heavy music. \"I won’t just twist your arm. Let me go!\" the guy panicked, his face turning bright red from embarrassment and pain. She let go of his wrist.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The guy scrambled up from the floor. He didn’t try to talk back. He didn’t try to look tough anymore. He grabbed his sore shoulder, kept his head down, and ran as fast as he could toward the front exit, pushing through the crowd like a totally terrified dog with its tail tucked between its legs.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Roxy smoothed down the front of her red dress, looking perfectly calm, like she had just taken out the trash.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>She turned around to face her best friend. She had always thought that the only way to survive a bully was to hide and stay quiet. She had never, ever seen a woman stand up and fight back like that. He was totally ready to vault right over the edge and drop down to the dance floor to smash the guy into the ground. Torian had already been rolling up his sleeves.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>But they had stopped dead in their tracks when Roxy stepped in.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>They stood shoulder to shoulder, leaning over the glass, their eyes glued to the woman in the red dress. They watched her twist the much bigger man’s arm. She found a pair of soft, fluffy pajamas for her friend to borrow. She pulled back the thick white blankets on the huge bed and made sure Lira had a glass of cold water on the nightstand.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Thank you, Roxy,\" Lira said softly, climbing into the big bed. She pulled the blankets up to her chin, looking safe and warm. \"For everything tonight. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this safe in my entire life.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"You are always safe here,\" Roxy smiled, turning off the main light so only a small, warm lamp was glowing in the corner. \"Nobody will ever bother you again. He had one hand pressed flat against the wood of the door right beside her head, and his other hand was holding her waist in a tight, heavy grip.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Even in the dark, Roxy could see his eyes. Zarek’s golden eyes were blazing with wild, completely unhidden lust. The other five Kings were in the room, too, waiting in the shadows, but Zarek had claimed her first.
