Chapter 55: Chapter Fifty-Five Failure

Failed?

Looking at the vanished azure flame and the eight anxious figures guarding beside it, Lu Man said lightly.

No, there's a situation; the heavenly and earthly energy here suddenly surged for no reason.

Looking at the sky that had suddenly grown much darker, White Fang trembled its four pairs of wings and said.

Lin Feng heard this and also raised his head to look at the sky.

All that could be seen was that the originally clear sky had suddenly become much darker.

Masses of black clouds of unknown origin slowly covered the sky.

Boom!

From within the black clouds, a rumbling thunderous sound suddenly came out.

Silver lightning flashed about wildly within, like silver serpents.

What's going on? Why is this happening?

Lu Man exclaimed in shock, looking at the lightning capable of killing a Fighting Emperor expert, then glanced doubtfully at White Fang beside her.

After all, White Fang knows more about these matters than she does.

White Fang lowered its head, pondered for a long time, then looked up at the sky again and said slowly: "According to our tribe's records, when some legendary magical beasts of ancient times are born or advance, they cause some heavenly and earthly phenomena due to the disharmony of immense energy within their bodies. However, these legendary magical beasts are extremely powerful existences; among them, some outstanding ones, upon reaching great accomplishment, can even rival human experts of the Fighting Venerable or even Fighting Saint level. Now, on the Fighting Qi Continent, such legendary magical beasts seem to be rarely seen... Looking at the current situation, the most likely possibility is perhaps that it was caused by Queen Medusa."

You mean... she succeeded in her evolution?

Lu Man's pupils contracted slightly, and she said, somewhat shocked.

"Not sure." White Fang shook its head and then said.

"Even if she evolved about ten months earlier than in the original story, she still succeeded..."

Gazing at the sky, Lin Feng sighed in his heart.

Rumble~

Just then, a tremendous rumbling sound poured down, and in an instant, heaven and earth were illuminated.

A huge bolt of silver lightning shot down from the clouds.

Finally, it pierced the purple light curtain and smashed into that cluster of azure flame.

The lightning came fast and left even faster.

Before the people's ears could fully cease hearing the thunder's explosion, the black clouds above the sky began to rapidly recede.

In an instant, scorching sunlight once again enveloped the city.

As the rumbling in their ears gradually faded, everyone hurriedly turned their gazes toward the purple light curtain.

However, after the previous lightning strike, there was a faint azure mist.

It seeped out from that place, simultaneously obscuring everyone's vision.

Killed by lightning?

After a long while, Lu Man saw no movement in the mist and exclaimed in surprise.

She never expected that the renowned Queen Medusa of several great empires would be killed by lightning just like that.

Suddenly, a vast and terrifying aura burst forth violently.

At an alarming speed, it quickly enveloped the city.

"Medusa she succeeded... no, this aura, though terrifyingly strong, faintly shows signs of exhaustion; it seems she still failed."

Feeling the mighty momentum of this aura, Lu Man was first startled.

But then sensing its weakness, she shook her head and no longer held hope for Medusa.

However, the Snake-People Tribe of the surrounding great tribes were all faces of wild joy, their earth-shaking cheers echoing through the heavens.

But after only about ten seconds, this surging momentum, like a tide, rapidly retreated back into the light curtain.

As the aura faded once more, the cheers stopped abruptly; all the Snake-People wore looks of astonishment, filled with anxiety and anticipation...

"Let's go, we'll retrieve the Heavenly Flame."

Seeing that there was no movement from Medusa's side, Lin Feng spread his wings and said to the dazed person and snake.

Just now, the commotion from Medusa's evolution was so great; he worried it might attract powerful experts, and also wanted to retrieve the Heavenly Flame as soon as possible.

Hmm.

Lu Man and White Fang came to their senses, somewhat wistfully gazing toward the direction of Medusa's evolution.

Never expected that the peerless expert at the peak of the Fighting Emperor would be completely annihilated under the burning of the Heavenly Flame.

Afterward, they flew toward the direction of Medusa's evolution...

"Gentlemen, the Heavenly Flame has been used up; please return it to me as agreed."

Flying to the side of the lost eight chiefs, Lin Feng hid behind White Fang and spoke.

"You still dare to come!"

Seeing Lin Feng and company, Moba Si came to his senses and immediately shouted angrily.

"Hey, little black snake, you still dare to spout nonsense here; believe it or not, I'll slap you to death."

Seeing someone come to challenge, White Fang also immediately became energetic and retorted.

"You..."

"Enough, Moba Si; if you dare say another word, we'll send you to suffer the punishment of ten thousand snakes devouring the body!"

At this moment, among the eight chiefs, the highest in seniority, Yin Shi, shouted loudly.

In his heart, he was also extremely furious at this time; now that it's come to this, that brainless idiot still went to provoke a Fighting Emperor expert.

"Tch!"

Feeling the gazes of the other several tribe chiefs, Moba Si could only grudgingly retreat.

"Rest assured, gentlemen, our Snake-People Tribe will only abide by the agreement and return the Heavenly Flame; we just need to wait a moment."

Yin Shi finished speaking and gave Yue Mei a look.

Yue Mei nodded and immediately flew toward the place where Medusa was evolving.

Yue Mei arrived beside the huge, charred black remains that had been burned and performed a salute.

Only then did Yue Mei pick up the Profound Crystal Lotus Seat from the ground and come to the side of the Strange Fire.

Using Dou Qi, Yue Mei wrapped the much weakened Green Lotus Core Fire and hurriedly sent it into the Lotus Seat.

Feeling their Dou Qi decrease by one-tenth, Yue Mei twitched their lips.

This Strange Fire is truly terrifying; in just an instant, it caused this Fighting King expert to consume one-tenth of her Dou Qi.

This is after being consumed by the Queen; if it were at its peak, I truly don't know how the Queen managed to hold out for so long.

After securing it, Yue Mei picked up the Lotus Seat, flew back into the sky, and threw it toward Lin Feng.

And Lin Feng took the Lotus Seat, examined it, confirmed there was no problem, and then breathed a sigh of relief.

After all that trouble, Lin Feng finally got hold of the Earth Core Fire, and then stored the Lotus Seat in his Space Ring.

"Everyone, the Snake-People Tribe now has many matters to attend to and cannot receive you; please leave at once."

Seeing Lin Feng accept the Strange Fire, Yin Shi's mature voice continued to sound.

Obviously, the fall of Queen Medusa made them begin to fear the two Fighting Emperors, Lu Man and Bai Ya, and they started to drive people away.

"Hmph."

Lu Man and Bai Ya, hearing the meaning in Yin Shi's words, each let out a cold snort.

Meanwhile, Lin Feng took off the Space Ring containing the Alchemist's Handbook and returned it to the several people.

Seeing the matter completely settled, Bai Ya and Lu Man respectively took Lin Feng and Qing Lin and shot off into the distance.

Seeing the several people leave, one of the leaders, Yan Ci, asked Yin Shi: "What should we do now?"

"Order all regions to defend strictly, summon all those in seclusion, for the earlier movements of Her Majesty the Queen's evolution surely alarmed the experts of the Jia Ma Empire; now they might already be on their way here."

Gazing at the western sky, Yin Shi said with a solemn expression.

"Good."

Upon hearing that, the several people also hurriedly flew off to various regions...
