Chapter 69: Four-Star Alchemist

On the other side, Lin Feng sent the two women back to their teacher's residence.

Just as he entered, he saw Frank and Otto with dejected faces, and a hint of joy involuntarily flashed in his eyes.

These two had finally emerged from seclusion, and he had long wanted to ask them about alchemy.

"Teacher, how did it go this time?"

Seeing Otto, Lin Fei hurried forward and asked.

"Ah, don't mention it; those medicinal ingredients have all turned to ash."

Otto shook his head, wearing a bitter expression as he spoke.

"Feng Lin, you've come at just the right time; wait a moment, we'll go to the alchemy room and I'll show you around."

Seeing Lin Feng and the two women return together, Frank's bitter expression eased a little; he waved at the former and said.

"Thank you, senior."

Lin Feng quickly clasped his hands in salute, a hint of joy appearing on his face.

"Eh, just call me Master Frank; calling me 'senior' over and over creates distance."

Frank slightly turned his head, speaking somewhat displeased.

"Uh..."

Hearing Frank's words, Lin Feng also felt somewhat helpless.

After so long, he had already figured out the former's intentions.

This old man simply wanted to match him up with Xue Mei.

Although Xue Mei's appearance is beyond reproach, he currently has little interest in her.

After all, he is now extremely close to becoming a four-star alchemist, and the forces behind Xue Mei would find it hard to help him further.

Nevertheless, he nodded, and under the other's satisfied gaze said, "Thank you, Master Frank."

"That's about right."

Frank stroked his beard, a smile appearing on his face.

Then he said to Lin Feng, "Come with me to the alchemy room now."

Having said that, he turned and led the way toward the alchemy room.

And Lin Feng hurriedly followed...

"Come, refine a batch of Qi Gathering Powder for me to see."

In the alchemy room, Frank said to Lin Feng standing aside.

"Okay."

Lin Feng responded, then took out his cauldron and began refining pills.

Watching Lin Feng's practiced movements, Frank nodded in amazement.

Then, seeing Lin Feng's technique was off, he reminded him: "When switching here, reduce the flame, otherwise it's easy to burn the ingredients; when merging the essences of the ingredients..."

"Whoosh~"

After several failures, Lin Feng flicked his palm, and a greenish pill flew out.

Finally, Lin Feng grabbed it in one hand.

Gazing at the longan-sized pill in his palm, Lin Feng's expression filled with excitement.

After all this trouble, he finally managed to refine this little guy.

"Congratulations; from now on you can be considered a four-star alchemist."

Seeing Lin Feng refine a four-star pill so quickly, Frank's eyes were full of shock.

There are still plenty of three-star alchemists under thirty in the Jia Ma Empire.

But a four-star alchemist is as rare as a unicorn's horn and a phoenix's feather.

"I also have to thank the master's guidance; otherwise I couldn't have refined a four-star pill so quickly."

Lin Feng also hurriedly expressed his gratitude to Frank.

"Hehe, I merely played a supporting role; the main credit is yours."

As he spoke, Frank thought of the Alchemist Convention and sighed regretfully: "It's a shame you're over thirty; otherwise, with your alchemy skill, first place would be a sure thing. I heard the prize for this convention's champion is none other than the legendary sixth-grade pill formula."

Hearing Frank's words, Lin Feng also felt a bit bitter in his heart.

If it weren't for fear of being discovered by Yao Chen regarding this Qing Lotus Earth Flame, he could have competed under his real identity.

That way, he could have won the championship and obtained the scroll of the sixth-grade Spirit Fusion Pill formula.

If one day Medusa were to reappear, he could also have a way to keep this Dou Zong expert bound to his side.

Otherwise, he would have to go through some trouble to pacify that woman.

However, trying to get him to give up this strange fire is also impossible.

He had long thought of how to obtain the method of that poison pill from Yao Chen.

Naturally, he wouldn't casually give up this earth heart fire; even if he didn't absorb it, he would trade it to a reliable person.

That way, when he later controls Xiao Yixian's physique, he won't lack strange fire.

Furthermore, he likewise has a way to obtain that formula; it's just a bit more trouble.

Thinking this through, Lin Feng recovered, smiled, and said: "It's fine; without the championship reward, I believe I can still obtain that sixth-grade pill formula from elsewhere later."

"That's right; with your talent, you might still be able to reach the sixth-grade realm later."

Frank stroked his beard and nodded.

Afterward, thinking of Lin Feng's talent, he wanted even more to draw him into his faction.

And the best way to win him over, naturally, is through his own disciple...

Thinking this through, Frank then tempted: "My disciple said she wants to go out and play tomorrow; could you accompany her? She's alone, and I'm a bit worried. Of course, I won't let you work for nothing—if you spend a day with her, I'll guide you in alchemy for three days."

"I… have no problem."

Lin Feng was about to refuse, but upon hearing the condition Frank mentioned, he agreed.

"Hmm, let's go out first."

After speaking, without waiting for Lin Feng to respond, Frank walked toward the hall outside.

"Sigh, let's take it one step at a time."

He forced a bitter smile and shook his head; Lin Feng also put away his alchemy cauldron and got up to leave.

Frank's earlier arrangement was clearly trying to matchmake him with Xue Mei.

Otherwise, a respectable Four-star Alchemist couldn't possibly fail to find guards to protect his disciple.

"Feng Lin, I didn't expect you to become a Four-star Alchemist so quickly."

Seeing Lin Feng emerge, Lin Fei the girl stepped forward, patted his shoulder, and said with a smile.

"Congratulations."

Xue Mei also stepped forward and said softly.

Facing everyone's congratulations, Lin Feng responded one by one.

"Master Feng Lin, may I ask you to forge a Four-star Bone Healing Pill, if possible."

A Great Fighter Master at the pinnacle bowed slightly and made a humble request to Lin Feng, who was instructing the two girls, including Xue Mei.

"Bone Healing Pill?"

Lin Feng recalled the information on this pill.

The Bone Healing Pill primarily serves to repair injuries related to the bones.

However, it is only a Four-star Pill, capable of healing only recent injuries where bone damage is not severe.

Moreover, among Four-star Pills, the Bone Healing Pill is relatively easy to forge.

Over a month ago, Lin Feng forged the Qi Gathering Powder and later reinforced it over time.

His success rate in forging Four-star Pills now fully meets the standards of a Four-star Alchemist.

Afterwards, he also publicly forged Four-star Pills at the Alchemist Guild.

Now that someone comes to ask him to forge a pill, it is natural that he does not find it strange.

However, after Lin Feng searched his seal for a moment, he shook his head and said, "Sorry, I don't have the formula for the Bone Healing Pill, so I cannot forge it for you."

Hearing this, the man bowed his hands in great disappointment and said, "Then I have disturbed the master."

After speaking, he turned and prepared to leave.

"Wait, what price will you offer him to forge it?"

At this moment, Lin Fei called the Great Fighter Master and asked.

"I am willing to give a third-tier ice attribute magic core as the master's reward, and of course I will gather the ingredients for the pill myself."

The man, seeing a glimmer of hope, hurriedly replied.

"Feng Lin, take us to stroll the streets tonight, and I'll let you read the scroll containing the Bone Healing Pill formula once, okay?"

Saying that, Lin Fei took out a scroll and waved it before Lin Feng.

Because their teacher had handed them over to Lin Feng's supervision without his consent.

They dared not disobey the teacher's orders, so they slipped out on their own.

Thus they could only tempt Lin Feng with this method.

Hearing that, Lin Feng thought for a moment.

These two girls, apparently spurred by him, had actually forged a First-Tier Pill a few days earlier.

Moreover, they also successfully obtained the One-Star Alchemist medal at the Alchemist Guild headquarters.

Lin Feng thought that in a month, Lin Fei and Xue Mei would return to Hei Yan Cheng with their teacher.

To meet again, they would probably need to attend the Alchemist Conference.

Having time now, accompanying them around for fun is also fine.

After a moment of hesitation, Lin Feng agreed to her request.

"Hehe, it's settled then."

Seeing his agreement, Lin Fei tossed the scroll in her hand toward Lin Feng.

"Don't worry, I promised, I definitely won't back out."

Taking the scroll, Lin Feng replied briefly and began extracting the information inside.

Afterwards, he returned the scroll to Lin Fei and wrote down the ingredients needed for the Bone Healing Pill on paper.

Then he gave the paper to the Great Fighter Master, letting him gather the ingredients himself…

And the man also knew that if the injury waited too long, the Bone Healing Pill would no longer be effective.

In less than half a day, he returned here with three sets of ingredients.

After receiving the ingredients, Lin Feng began forging the pill for the man.

After one failure, Lin Feng succeeded in forging it and handed the pill to the man.

Finally, amid the man's endless gratitude, he accepted the reward: a third-tier ice attribute magic core.

As for the extra set of ingredients, they naturally belonged to Lin Feng.

That night, Lin Feng took the two girls to the Alchemist Trading Market.

Suddenly, Lin Fei recalled a recent incident and said to Lin Feng and Xue Mei, "Did you hear? A few days ago, the Mitel family found the murderer who attacked their elder, and it seems they also discovered an anomalous fire on the killer."

Speaking of the anomalous fire, a flash of heat rose in Lin Fei's beautiful eyes.

That kind of thing that can aid alchemy, how many alchemists wouldn't want it?

Although she has never seen an anomalous fire, she has heard Otto mention such treasures occasionally.

Xue Mei also nodded and said: "It's long been known; I heard that the Supreme Elder of the Mite'er family who has been missing for decades, Ice Emperor Haibodong, also took action, together with Medicine King Gu He, Yun Lan Sect Sect Leader Yun Yun, four Elders of Dou Wang rank, and the Empire's Top Ten Strong—Mu Chen, Yan Shi, Feng Ling, and Lei Na. Eleven experts jointly besieged them, and everyone fought a major battle in the empire's eastern region."

"Yeah, but unfortunately, in the end they still couldn't capture that 'culprit'; it seems he was rescued by a mysterious Dou Huang."

Lin Feng also smiled and said.

A few days ago, he heard that Xiao Yan was being chased by a group of strong fighters.

At that time, he had just advanced to five-star Dou Shi.

Upon hearing this news, he immediately laughed louder than when he himself had advanced.
