Chapter 77: Master and Disciple Heart-to-Heart

"Is this the real purpose of your coming to the Imperial Capital?" Yao Lao stared at the Seven Illusory Green Spirit Saliva and said after a long silence.

"Uh..." Xiao Yan didn't know how to answer.

"Forget it, if you don't want to say it, then don't. Your heart, I already know. I never thought you would come to this dangerous Imperial Capital alone for me." Yao Lao said with a complex expression.

"This is nothing. If it weren't for Teacher, I wouldn't have my current achievements." Xiao Yan scratched his head and said embarrassedly.

"Hehe, I haven't taught you anything. It seems that until now, I have only taught you one Xuan-Tier Advanced Dou Technique and one Xuan-Tier Low-Tier Dou Technique; the others were all obtained by your own efforts." Yao Lao said with a smile. He now felt somewhat indebted to Xiao Yan.

"What is Teacher saying? A drop of water's grace should be repaid with a gushing spring. What Teacher has paid for me is far less than what you said. Just the point of leading me onto the path of an Alchemist is enough for me to remember for a lifetime. You also gave me the Fen Jue that can evolve, and let me learn many things. I will never forget Teacher's kindness." Xiao Yan said gratefully.

"Actually, the purpose of me taking you as a disciple at the beginning was to help me resurrect; the purpose wasn't pure." Yao Lao said seriously after a long silence.

"You have quite a few attack Dou Techniques now; giving you more attack-type Dou Techniques won't increase your strength much, but will instead distract you. You are currently lacking a movement-type Dou Technique." Yao Lao said slowly.

"Refine sixteen pills, of which ten are for the three great families and the Imperial Family, and the other six are for Fama; after all, he helped quite a bit." Xiao Yan put away the remaining fourteen portions of medicinal materials and began to refine.

"Then hurry up and finish refining the pills, then leave here. How can I teach you here?" Yao Lao urged.

"Teacher, are you sure it works?" Xiao Yan asked somewhat doubtfully.

"Isn't this because I suffered from not having a movement-type Dou Technique?" Xiao Yan said helplessly. When he competed with Nalan Yanran back then, he suffered quite a bit because of her Flying Catkin movement technique.

This time with the help of the Exotic Fire, Xiao Yan's speed was several times faster. In just over half an hour, he finished refining all the required medicinal materials and began to condense and fuse the pills.

"Teacher, help me guard; I want to use the Exotic Fire to refine, so the speed will be faster." Xiao Yan said to Yao Lao.

"Rest assured! This place is very hidden; even if they use Soul Perception outside, they can't probe it. Now Fama is concentrating on studying the medicine refining experience I gave him; I guess he has no time to bother with you. Even if he comes, I can discover it in advance." Yao Lao smiled slightly and looked at Xiao Yan.

Xiao Yan took out all the medicinal materials for refining the Longevity Pill, a total of thirty portions.

"Ah? Then won't it be discovered?" Xiao Yan asked in confusion.

Xiao Yan was afraid that using the Exotic Fire in Fama's medicine cauldron would be discovered by him. Although the relationship between the two was quite good now, one should still be careful. After all, this was an Exotic Fire, a thing that made all Alchemists crazy.

"You! You don't look like a youth at all! You are clearly a monster who has experienced vicissitudes and is calculating!" Seeing Xiao Yan say this, Yao Lao felt dumbfounded.

"An eye for an eye! That old thing Jia Xingtian actually dared to play tricks on me, then I must teach him a good lesson!" Xiao Yan said coldly.

"What is difficult about this? When refining the next pill, just use the Yin fire in your body to refine it." Yao Lao said.

Xiao Yan took another portion of medicinal materials from the stone platform, threw them into the cauldron one by one, and began to refine. After refining, he began to condense the pills again. Looking at the embryonic medicinal pill in the medicine cauldron, Xiao Yan found that it was about the same as the one just now, with no difference.

"That is indeed the case. My attack and defense are very powerful now, but my speed is too slow. Whenever someone uses a movement-type Dou Technique, I will be at a disadvantage." Xiao Yan was a bit excited because he knew Yao Lao would definitely give him a movement-type Dou Technique.

Xiao Yan quickly finished refining the first medicinal pill, then extinguished the flame in the medicine cauldron, and then put the black flame in his left hand into it. Except for the color, the Yin fire and Yang fire were about the same to use, and both were very handy.

"Look at your lack of ambition! A movement-type Dou Technique makes you so excited!" Yao Lao looked at Xiao Yan with disdain.

"I know!" Xiao Yan said with a smile.

Extending his right hand, a cluster of black and white flames appeared in his palm. Xiao Yan didn't use the white flame to refine, because using the white flame would increase the medicinal effect, and it would be trouble if it was discovered to be different from the one refined before.

At this moment, Yao Lao really didn't understand. Knowing that he came with a purpose, yet still treating him so well?

"The purpose isn't pure, so what? Even between the closest people, there will be conflicts of interest. If two people only talk about feelings and not interests, then this relationship is destined not to last long. Teacher wants me to help you resurrect, and I want Teacher to help me become stronger. There is no contradiction between the interests of both sides, and helping each other is good for both, so I can safely treat Teacher well, and Teacher can safely teach me, right?" Xiao Yan said with a smile.

"I am just telling the truth! And a teacher for a day is a father for life; isn't it right to repay Teacher?" Xiao Yan said with a smile.

"Oh? What do you want to do?" Yao Lao asked with a smile.

Looking at the embryonic medicinal pill inside, Xiao Yan revealed a cold smile and then said: "Teacher, can you do something to this medicinal pill?"

Hearing Yao Lao say this, Xiao Yan finally felt relieved. He walked to the stone platform, took down the medicine cauldron, and replaced it with the medicine cauldron he usually used.

"You know?" Yao Lao looked at Xiao Yan in surprise.

"Saying it so nicely, isn't it just wanting some benefits?" Yao Lao rolled his eyes and said with disdain.

"Actually discovered by Teacher!" Xiao Yan smiled embarrassedly.

Xiao Yan put this cluster of flames into the medicine cauldron and then controlled the flame temperature within a suitable range. Immediately, he took several medicinal materials from the stone platform and threw them in together, starting to refine.

Hearing Yao Lao's words, Xiao Yan extended his left hand, and a cluster of black flames appeared in his palm. Xiao Yan looked at the black flame in his palm and asked: "Teacher, does the medicinal pill refined by this Yin fire have any difference?"

"Hehe, you will know when you finish refining!" Yao Lao smiled mysteriously.

"Alright! Let's start the fire and refine the pills!" Xiao Yan agreed immediately and then went to refine pills happily.

"What is the difference? That is naturally a big difference. If the medicinal pill refined by Yang fire can treat diseases and save people, then the one refined by Yin fire is a complete poison, which can kill people invisibly." Yao Lao explained.

"You continue to refine; can I still lie to you?" Yao Lao said speechlessly.

After warming it with the black flame for a while, seeing that the medicinal pill was refined, Xiao Yan directly extinguished the flame in the medicine cauldron, then slapped the medicine cauldron with his hand, and a very round medicinal pill emitting bursts of fragrance landed in Xiao Yan's hand.

Embarrassing! Accidentally clicked publish! I have this serious obsessive-compulsive disorder!
