Chapter 14: with translation of chapter title

The next day, the Jia Lie Clan and the Ao Ba Clan received a message from the Xiao Clan.

Entities: Jia Lie Clan, Ao Ba Clan, Xiao Clan.

Jia Lie Clan.

Entity: Jia Lie Clan.

Jia Lie Ao angrily stood up, "Father, the Xiao Clan clearly intends to annex our Jia Lie Clan!"

Entities: Jia Lie Ao, Xiao Clan, Jia Lie Clan.

Second Elder Jia Lie Nu likewise couldn't contain himself, slamming the table, "They sent over some alliance letter, telling us to come observe the ceremony, claiming it's an alliance, but clearly they just want us to become their subordinates, and they even demand we hand over half of our annual income as that damn alliance fee—absurd!!!"

Entities: Second Elder, Jia Lie Nu, Xiao Clan.

Seeing the clan members just as agitated as himself, Jia Lie Bi finally couldn't suppress his anger, "Let's go, let's go to the Xiao Clan and see what's happening!"

Entities: Jia Lie Bi, Xiao Clan.

Ao Ba Clan.

Entity: Ao Ba Clan.

Ao Ba Pa stroked his chin, unsure what the Xiao Clan was planning.

Entities: Ao Ba Pa, Xiao Clan.

"Let's go see what the Xiao Clan is scheming; could they really intend to swallow both our Ao Ba and Jia Lie Clans in one gulp?"

Entities: Xiao Clan, Ao Ba Clan, Jia Lie Clan.

The Jia Li Clan and the Ao Ba Clan simultaneously decided to head to the Xiao Clan to investigate; upon meeting halfway, they hit it off and resolved to give the Xiao Clan a good show!

Entities: Jia Li Clan, Ao Ba Clan, Xiao Clan.

Xiao Clan Hall.

Entities: Xiao Clan.

Xiao Zhan chuckled as he thought of the letter he'd written yesterday; speaking so recklessly felt exhilarating, and he still remembered the bold words he'd penned yesterday—absolutely brilliant.

Entities: Xiao Zhan.

"You Jia Lie Clan must come to my Xiao Clan Hall before noon tomorrow to discuss the alliance, handing over half of your clan's annual income as the alliance fee, or you'll regret it."

Entities: Jia Lie Clan, Xiao Clan.

"Ao Ba Clan and Jia Lie Clan, remember to come to my Xiao Clan Hall tomorrow to discuss some matters; come early, or don't blame me for being rude."

Entities: Ao Ba Clan, Jia Lie Clan, Xiao Clan.

Xiao Li looked at Xiao Zhan's gleeful expression, likewise wearing a helpless look; ever since yesterday, when his father wanted to test his strength, he's become like this.

Entities: Xiao Li, Xiao Zhan.

Recalling Xiao Zhan's Lion Mountain Split from last night, Xiao Li still felt a lingering fear; truly a full-power strike from a Three-Star Great Fighter, forcing him to exert seventy percent of his strength just to block it.

Entities: Xiao Zhan, Xiao Li, Lion Mountain Split, Three-Star Great Fighter.

"The Jia Lie and Ao Ba Clans have arrived~!"

Entities: Jia Lie Clan, Ao Ba Clan.

The loud shout of the guards outside drifted into the hall; Jia Lie Bi, barred outside, wore an ugly expression, as he and his companions had to announce themselves just to enter, feeling like servants.

Entities: Jia Lie Bi.

This Xiao Zhan truly doesn't take anyone seriously!

Entities: Xiao Zhan.

Jia Lie Bi and Ao Ba Pa stormed into the hall angrily, without further ado pointing at Xiao Zhan and demanding, "Xiao Zhan, what does that letter mean? Are you trying to annex both of our clans?!"

Entities: Jia Lie Bi, Ao Ba Pa, Xiao Zhan.

Xiao Zhan chuckled, "You two have misunderstood; that's an alliance."

Entities: Xiao Zhan.

Jia Lie Bi suppressed his anger, feeling doubtful—could the Xiao Clan have gained some powerful backing, daring to provoke both clans at once?

Entities: Jia Lie Bi, Xiao Clan.

"Then what do you mean?"

No entities.

As if not seeing Jia Lie Bi's grim face, Xiao Zhan continued cheerfully, "Our three clans have been fighting inside Wutan City, which is unwise; better to unite and leave Wutan City, so we can grow stronger."

Entities: Jia Lie Bi, Xiao Zhan, Wutan City.

At first hearing, Xiao Zhan's words seemed reasonable, but Jia Lie Bi and Ao Ba Pa, being seasoned, immediately pointed out the unreasonable aspects in the letter.

Entities: Xiao Zhan, Jia Lie Bi, Ao Ba Pa.

"What is this so-called alliance fee you demand from our two clans supposed to be for, and what is the Xiao Clan contributing?!" Ao Ba Pa's face darkened; though he usually keeps a low profile and is scheming, he couldn't help confronting Xiao Zhan directly.

Entities: Xiao Clan, Ao Ba Pa, Xiao Zhan.

"Heh, my meaning…" Xiao Zhan's expression shifted from amused to cold, "Of course it's to make your two clans submit to us."

Entities: Xiao Zhan.

Xiao Zhan made no secret that his strength was already the strongest among the three great clan chiefs; now with Xiao Li, who is his equal, swallowing the senior members of these two great clans would be easy—just eliminate them and the rest would pose no threat.

Entities: Xiao Zhan, Three Great Clan Chiefs, Xiao Li.

Jia Lie Bi and Ao Ba Pa's expressions changed as they noticed that, unbeknownst to them, several circles of Xiao Clan members had gathered outside the hall.

Entities: Jia Lie Bi, Ao Ba Pa, Xiao Clan.

"The fact that you dared to come to my Xiao Clan Hall is the only thing I can praise you for." Xiao Zhan snorted coldly and then launched an attack without hesitation.

Entities: Xiao Clan, Xiao Zhan.

"Lion Mountain Split!"

Entities: Lion Mountain Split.

A azure lion's head roared, fiercely charging toward Jia Lie Bi and Ao Ba Pa.

Entities: Jia Lie Bi, Ao Ba Pa.

Jia Lie Bi's face darkened, "Damn Xiao Zhan, you actually dared to strike, but you've chosen the wrong target today."

Entities: Jia Lie Bi, Xiao Zhan.

"Ao Ba clan chief, I'll hold off Xiao Zhan; you join the others to slaughter the Xiao Clan entirely, and later we'll distribute the spoils according to contribution."

Entities: Ao Ba Clan Chief, Xiao Zhan, Xiao Clan.

Ao Ba Pa nodded without hesitation; at this point he could no longer afford to consider consequences, as they were already about to strike his face.

Entities: Ao Ba Pa.

"You two must think I, the Xiao Clan, dared to summon you today because I truly have no trump cards, right?"

Entities: Xiao Clan.

A cold voice echoed from the hall's entrance; its calm tone made Jia Lie Bi and Ao Ba Pa feel a chill down their spines.

Entities: Jia Lie Bi, Ao Ba Pa.

Turning their heads, they saw a youth leaning on a long spear at the doorway.

Entities: (none specific; youth generic).

Jia Lie Bi blinked, feeling both furious and amused, "You Xiao Clan must be out of people, sending out a mere child like this!"

Entities: Jia Lie Bi, Xiao Clan.

Turning back toward Xiao Zhan, who was already lunging forward, Jia Lie Bi didn't dare be careless, greeted Ao Ba Pa, and charged ahead.

Entities: Xiao Zhan, Jia Lie Bi, Ao Ba Pa.

"Profound Rank Low-Level Fighting Technique, Azure Wind Whirl Fist!"

Entities: Profound Rank Low-Level Fighting Technique, Azure Wind Whirl Fist.

Azure battle qi rapidly condensed on his fist's surface, ultimately forming a small vortex; Jia Lie Bi's gaze grew grave, for Xiao Zhan's strength surpassed his by a level, and he could not afford to be careless.

Entities: Jia Lie Bi, Xiao Zhan.

Ao Ba Pa's eyes turned vicious, the corner of his mouth curling into a sinister arc, "If the Xiao Clan's trump card is just this child, then today we shall annihilate them!"

Entities: Ao Ba Pa, Xiao Clan.

As the two clan chiefs exchanged blows, they failed to notice Jia Lie Ao's expression behind them.

Entities: Two Great Clan Chiefs, Jia Lie Ao.

Seeing Xiao Li, Jia Lie Ao couldn't suppress a flicker of fear; growing up, who among the younger generation of the Jia Lie and Ao Ba clans hasn't been beaten by Xiao Li?

Entities: Jia Lie Ao, Xiao Li, Jia Lie Clan, Ao Ba Clan.

Jia Lie Bi and Ao Ba Pa didn't know the younger generation of the Xiao Clan, but Jia Lie Ao was well acquainted; he recalled that after teasing Xiao Mei once, Xiao Li blocked his doorway every day, preventing him from even leaving his home.

Entities: Jia Lie Bi, Ao Ba Pa, Xiao Clan, Jia Lie Ao, Xiao Mei, Xiao Li.

This situation persisted for a full month until Jia Lie Ao could no longer endure it, setting aside his pride to inform Second Elder Jia Lie Nu, which finally resolved the matter.

Entities: Jia Lie Ao, Second Elder, Jia Lie Nu.

Seeing Ao Ba Pa charge forward, Xiao Li felt no fear; this portly middle-aged man was the weakest of the three great clan chiefs, and if even he lacked confidence to face him, Xiao Li wouldn't dare claim he could wipe out the other two clans.

Entities: Ao Ba Pa, Xiao Li, Three Great Clan Chiefs.

Having cultivated the Deep Thunder Abyss Manual, azure lightning burst forth, the surging thunder almost blocking the doorway to prevent Ao Ba Pa from charging out and harming other Xiao Clan disciples.

Entities: Deep Thunder Abyss Manual, Ao Ba Pa, Xiao Clan.

As for the hall's interior, the Ao Ba Clan's two elders, the Jia Lie Clan's Second Elder and Jia Lie Ao, plus a few scattered disciples, there were hardly any people.

Entities: Ao Ba Clan two elders, Jia Lie Clan Second Elder, Jia Lie Ao, plus a few scattered disciples.

Xiao Li, Xiao Zhan, the three great elders, and the core disciples were all present, enough to handle them; anyone with less than a Fighter's strength who entered would likely lose their life, so it was better to stay outside to prevent any stragglers from escaping.

Entities: Xiao Li, Xiao Zhan, Three Great Elders, Core Disciples, Fighter.

Violent lightning erupted, azure lightning coiling around the Lightning Scale Spear; its intense aura made Ao Ba Pa barely able to keep his eyes open, and even more shaken was his heart.

Entities: Lightning Scale Spear, Ao Ba Pa.

"A Great Fighter? How could that be?!"

Entities: Great Fighter.
