Chapter 155: Mosquito Plague

The Thunder Explosion Dragonfly is much larger in volume than the Thunder Light Dragonfly; its belly is quite big, filled with electrolytes, and its temper is also much worse than the Thunder Light Dragonfly's.

After seeing the Thunder Explosion Dragonfly appear, the Dark Night Mosquitoes all treated the Thunder Explosion Dragonfly as their prey.

The Dark Night Mosquitoes buzzed and swarmed over, but this fellow didn't say a word, charging directly into the mosquito swarm with a "Boom!"

Its body emitted a dazzling white light, and the Dark Night Mosquitoes surrounded the Thunder Explosion Dragonfly tightly, sealing it off so completely that even the white light was thoroughly blocked, without a single gap leaking out.

Just when Ye Bai thought the Thunder Explosion Dragonfly was going to suffer a loss.

"Boom!" A loud noise suddenly exploded, deafening, as if even time had come to a standstill because of it.

Blinding white light burst forth.

The violent shockwave blasted the Dark Night Mosquito swarm into disarray, and the corpses of the Dark Night Mosquitoes fell to the ground below like raindrops.

Most of the Dark Night Mosquitoes were scorched black, emitting white smoke from their bodies, while a small portion of the Dark Night Mosquitoes were knocked unconscious by the shockwave.

The shockwave almost shattered the barrier; the barrier shook violently, and it took a long time before it returned to normal.

The Thunder Explosion Dragonfly, accompanied by the corpses of countless mosquitoes, landed on the ground.

Its body was emitting white smoke, but its mental state was good. Ye Bai actually felt quite strange; wasn't it said that the Thunder Explosion Dragonfly's Thunder Explosion skill would result in mutual destruction with the opponent?

Why was the Thunder Explosion Dragonfly still alive and well? Ye Bai suspected that his Insight Eye had malfunctioned.

At this moment, the Thunder Explosion Dragonfly opened its mouth, and with a fierce suck, countless Dark Night Mosquito corpses fell into the Thunder Explosion Dragonfly's mouth.

The sound of loud chewing emerged from within the barrier.

As the corpses on the ground continuously decreased, it gradually returned to normal.

"It seems that the Thunder Explosion Dragonfly, just like the Thunder Light Dragonfly, can recover its own body by devouring the corpses of Exotic Beasts."

At this time, Ye Bai discovered that two new skills had been added to the Thunder Explosion Dragonfly's skill bar.

One is Self-Destruct: By self-destructing, it blows the opponent to smithereens; after self-destructing, it loses the ability to fight.

One is Devour: By devouring the opponent's corpse, it recovers its own physical strength.

"So that's how it is; you fellow mastered brand-new skills so quickly."

The Thunder Explosion Dragonfly's method of eliminating the Dark Night Mosquitoes was bold and unrestrained.

It is more suitable for gathering the Dark Night Mosquitoes together and then using a single Self-Destruct to wipe out all the Dark Night Mosquitoes in one go.

Ye Bai had Secretary Liang release all the remaining Dark Night Mosquitoes into the barrier, and he sent out a male and a female Thunder Explosion Dragonfly.

The two Thunder Explosion Dragonflies shuttled through the Dark Night Mosquitoes, and the Dark Night Mosquitoes' wings flapped violently, emitting a buzzing, ear-piercing sound.

Only two loud "bangs" were heard, and a large amount of white light was emitted; the barrier held on stubbornly without breaking.

At this time, Ye Bai discovered that when the male and female Thunder Explosion Dragonflies had their tails inserted into each other, they could gradually recover even without eating the Dark Night Mosquitoes.

This was indeed good news.

Ye Bai meticulously uploaded the experimental records to his computer; this was very important data.

"Ye Bai, do you still need to continue testing?"

"If you aren't testing, please return the storage Beast Card to me."

"You're right, this thing is indeed not common in the Pet Beast Association, and I still have to turn the storage Beast Card in."

"Now President Wang has ordered that the fact that Dark Night Mosquitoes have light-chasing characteristics must be reported upward."

"Xijiang Province now plans to adopt a large-scale tactic to clear out the Dark Night Mosquitoes."

"Also, I hope you can study the Thunder Light Dragonfly and Thunder Explosion Dragonfly as soon as possible to contribute to Xijiang Province's epidemic prevention and disaster relief."

Ye Bai nodded; he used his Pet Beast Association contribution points to exchange for a storage Beast Card and transferred the Dark Night Mosquito leader into this Beast Card.

It's just that he didn't know if three or four Dark Night Mosquito leaders gathered together would fight to the death to determine the position of the sole leader.

Xijiang Province.

Dark Night Mosquito Disaster Relief Headquarters.

The high-level officials of Xijiang Province were discussing countermeasures with two Special-Grade Inspectors.

One of them looked chubby, like the Maitreya Buddha, and he was constantly eating food.

He is the Room Fire Pig of the Northern Black Tortoise Mansion, one of the Twenty-Eight Mansions.

Room Fire Pig had suffered from a strange illness since he was a child; apart from his sleeping time and his usual activity time, he had to eat non-stop at all other times, otherwise, he would easily faint suddenly due to low blood sugar.

The other person looked tiger-headed and brainy, with a crew cut, wearing a tank top, his whole body bursting with muscles, and he was wearing camouflage pants.

He is the Tail Fire Tiger of the Eastern Azure Dragon Mansion, one of the Twenty-Eight Mansions.

"Everyone, the Dark Night Mosquitoes are now erupting in Xijiang Province."

"We have already sent people from the Pet Beast Association to guard various places."

"But the number of Dark Night Mosquitoes is only increasing, not decreasing, and it is still in a trend of high eruption."

"I am afraid that by that time, our entire Xijiang Province will be left empty, and the people will be plunged into misery."

"I believe everyone in their hearts knows the harm of the Dark Night Mosquitoes."

"We have already asked for help from various brother provinces."

"Their Breeder Associations have provided quite a few anti-mosquito plans."

"Among them, the plan provided by Jiaying City in Yandong Province is the most comprehensive; everyone can take a look."

Room Fire Pig and Tail Fire Tiger are the strongest forces sent by Yan Country, and they are responsible for controlling and supervising the overall situation.

Once a Dark Night Mosquito plague occurs, Room Fire Pig and Tail Fire Tiger are the greatest forces in fighting the mosquito plague.

As the stabilizing forces, they will not be dispatched easily.

"Hmm, the Breeder Association of Jiaying City has also researched a chemical mosquito repellent method."

"It is suggested that we configure it as soon as possible; otherwise, if the Dark Night Mosquitoes continue to breed, they might take action against the citizens."

"In addition, using the light-chasing characteristics of the Dark Night Mosquitoes is also quite good; first, lock a portion of the Dark Night Mosquitoes into Beast Cards to reduce the number of Dark Night Mosquitoes."

"Finally, use the natural enemies of the Dark Night Mosquitoes to deal with the Dark Night Mosquitoes."

After looking at it, Tail Fire Tiger approved the plan provided by Jiaying City.

"We must be fast; the Dark Night Mosquito larvae in the Xijiang River are breeding at an extremely rapid rate, and we must deal with them as soon as possible."

Room Fire Pig made the final decision.

"Everyone, start acting as quickly as possible. Get the chemical mosquito repellent formulated first to prevent the Dark Night Mosquitoes from attacking the citizens, and then we will seal off a batch of Dark Night Mosquitoes first."

"Now, it depends on whether our brother provinces are capable enough to complete the research in the shortest possible time."

"Meeting adjourned. Everyone, do a good job with the prevention and control work."

The Xijiang River runs through the entire Xijiang Province.

Therefore, when the flood peak occurred, every city suffered from the attack of the flood peak.

The mud on the ground had not yet been completely cleaned up when everyone heard a buzzing sound.

They looked up and saw a large number of Dark Night Mosquitoes appearing in the air.

People quickened their pace one after another, trying to escape from this sudden "sea of mosquitoes."

Children covered their ears, widened their eyes, and looked at this terrifying natural disaster with curiosity and fear; under the protection of adults, they were the first to hide in the houses.

The adults used mosquito repellent one after another, and even used clothing to cover themselves, attempting to find a trace of peace in this "mosquito disaster."

Relying on their astonishing numbers and keen sense of smell, the mosquitoes were everywhere, continuing their "feast."

Many people and Pet Beasts were bitten by the Dark Night Mosquitoes, leaving them covered in large welts.

At this moment, a tongue of fire descended from the sky and landed among the swarm of Dark Night Mosquitoes.

The smell of scorched protein wafted through the air, and a flame pig several tens of meters tall appeared.

It possessed three pairs of fangs emitting flames, magma flowed from its four hooves, and every path it walked left a deep black footprint.

Its tail was emitting flames, and wings made of flames also appeared on its back.

Room Fire Pig, who was eating, said in a muffled voice: "Is everyone alright? In the future, after you see Dark Night Mosquitoes, hide first."

Tail Fire Tiger, who was on the side, frowned: "The Dark Night Mosquitoes are becoming more and more numerous, and now they have started to actively attack humans."

"The situation is continuing to deteriorate."

Both Room Fire Pig and Tail Fire Tiger possessed the ability to clear out an entire area of Dark Night Mosquitoes.

However, these Dark Night Mosquitoes bred at an extremely fast rate, were impossible to kill off, and their numbers were even vaguely increasing.

This made both Room Fire Pig and Tail Fire Tiger feel troubled.

The two Special Grade Inspection Envoys were even bitten by the Dark Night Mosquitoes until their heads were covered in welts.

"Sigh, I am really worried now."

"If the number of Dark Night Mosquitoes continues to increase, what will we do if we can't clear them all?"

"My brow has been twitching these past few days; I always feel like something is going to happen."

"And if the Dark Night Mosquitoes evolve, that won't be a good thing for us either."

"I just hope our brother provinces can research a practical and feasible method as soon as possible."

"Otherwise, Xijiang Province might see history repeat itself."

"Unless Boss Vermilion Bird can come, otherwise I see little chance of winning."

Room Fire Pig muttered, his mood somewhat heavy.

The Dark Night Mosquito larvae in the Xijiang water were so numerous they were about to fill the river channels of the Xijiang.

This severely squeezed the local ecology, but they did not have any particularly good methods.

"Forget it, man proposes, God disposes."

"Once the mosquito disaster breaks out, we must surround the entire Xijiang Province."

"We must arrange for the people of Xijiang Province to evacuate this area."

"If necessary, even we can be sacrificed."

Tail Fire Tiger said decisively.

Ye Bai returned to the Research Institute; at this time, Zhang Lingxue had already come out of the Secret Realm.

After working day and night, she had already gotten the data mostly finished.

At this moment, she was flipping through Ye Bai's experimental notes with great interest.

"Ye Bai, I didn't expect that while I was rushing to finish my short paper these past few days, you quietly accomplished a major task."

"The topic of how to clear the Dark Night Mosquitoes has already become a very critical topic for our Imperial Capital Research Institute."

"I didn't expect you to solve it by accident."

"You should organize the paper later and submit it; just publish it in the Yan Country Life Cycle Journal."

"I have an acquaintance there who can arrange a layout for it in the shortest possible time."

Zhang Lingxue handed the experimental records back to Ye Bai.

Ye Bai saw that the Thunder Light water nymph in the water tank had already grown to the size of a bowl mouth, and at this moment, it was devouring the Dark Night Mosquito larvae in large mouthfuls.

Begging for votes.
