Chapter 235: The Curtain Falls

Yinhu's expression was not good at this moment, because according to the system's detection, extremely chaotic and violent energy had appeared inside.

According to feedback from the contestants who came out, the volcano inside had suddenly erupted, and orange-red magma was flowing across the mountains and plains.

They didn't even have a place to stand, and could only end the assessment early.

Some examinees with flying mounts could not bear the torture of this intense heat either, and jumped into the magma one after another to be teleported out.

The Secret Realm was currently in a state of falling apart, and the stability of the surrounding space had become very poor.

This meant that the stability of the Space Talisman might be affected.

At any moment, fragments of the Secret Realm could burst open and pierce through to the outside world.

Yinhu was no stranger to Ye Bai; he had learned from Chen Long about the process of the Ice Glass Dragon being saved by Ye Bai.

A mere Pet Beast Master daring to perform treatment on an Ice Glass Dragon—that was truly having high skill and bold courage.

Coupled with the fact that Ye Bai was also a successor of Master Jiang, this made Yinhu quite wary.

After all, Jiang Dashi was a Great National Physician; who doesn't have times of birth, aging, sickness, and death?

Moreover, Ye Bai's grandmasters were Su Qingxian and Zhang Dashan, and he had a master-disciple relationship with the genius girl Zhang Lingxue.

Yinhu thought it was quite thorny; this guy was a blatant connection-hire.

Ye Bai's gold content was not ordinary; if he were to fall here, Yinhu was afraid it would be difficult to answer to that stubborn old man Zhang Dashan.

In a lightning-fast chase, the Myriad-Change Silkworm gradually mastered how to analyze, and only then did it stop.

At this time, Ye Bai discovered that the previously flowing magma had instantly solidified into black, shiny volcanic rock.

In the distance, more and more magma began to subside.

He immediately revealed a meaningful smile, because he could feel the Little Charcoal Dog—no, the Nether Wolf—was rapidly approaching.

The Nether Wolf leaped out from the magma.

Ye Bai and the Nether Wolf looked at each other across the air.

"You have become even more powerful, Nether Wolf; I almost didn't recognize you."

Ye Bai said loudly to the Nether Wolf.

【Evolution Route 1: Evolution route will continue to be opened after contacting evolution materials.】

At this time, the Lava Lord caught up.

Two fifth-order peak Pet Beasts were looking at each other across the air; their bodies both emitted terrifying auras, shaking the surrounding magma until it surged incessantly.

The Nether Wolf was only at the fifth-order peak because it was held back by Ye Bai, and could only display the strength of the fifth-order peak.

And the Lava Lord only had the strength of the fifth-order peak; it could only advance to the sixth order after seizing the Lava Heart.

The Lava Lord's eyes stared fixedly at the Nether Wolf; it could feel the soul-snatching aura in the Nether Wolf's eyes.

This made the Lava Lord feel a bit timid in its heart, but there was even more burning rage.

It was the Lava Lord of this Secret Realm; once it broke through to become a sixth-order Exotic Beast, it would be able to control the entire Secret Realm.

The Lava Lord did not believe that this Exotic Beast, which was only the size of its thumb, could pose a huge threat to it.

It moved; the Lava Lord swung its arms violently toward the direction of the Nether Wolf.

Countless magma droplets fell from the sky like raindrops.

The Nether Wolf opened its mouth, and countless Mars fell into its mouth.

After the magma was stripped of its heat, it turned into black, shiny rocks and fell to the ground.

Even one of the Lava Lord's arms had its flames absorbed by the Nether Wolf in a very short time.

The huge rock arm fell from the sky, smashed heavily onto the ground, and stirred up a large amount of magma.

The Lava Lord was surprised to find that that arm of its own seemed to have disappeared permanently.

The Nether Wolf had actually harvested a part of its Soul as well.

The furious Lava Lord stared fixedly at the Nether Wolf with eyes the size of millstones.

It seemed to want to see this insect-like Exotic Beast clearly.

Unfortunately, its other arm also had its flames swallowed by the Nether Wolf; the black, shiny rock giant arm fell from the sky and landed straight into the magma.

The surging magma was sweeping through the entire Secret Realm.

"Nether Wolf, devour the Lava Lord's Soul."

The Nether Wolf quickly jumped onto the Lava Lord's body.

Wherever it passed, the Lava Lord's body turned into black, shiny volcanic rock one after another.

Just as the Nether Wolf was about to reach the Lava Lord's heart, the place where it stood suddenly became like mud.

The Nether Wolf was engulfed by the lava and sank into the Lava Lord's body.

Ga ga ga, ga ga ga. The Lava Lord's body emitted crazy laughter, like a loudspeaker.

Damn human, it's finally your turn, hand it over.

The Lava Lord gradually charged toward Ye Bai.

Endless flames formed a firestorm, directly sealing Ye Bai off.

A wall of fire hundreds of meters high blocked the surroundings, and under the Lava Lord's manipulation, the flames gradually contracted.

Just as the raging fire was about to spread onto Ye Bai, the Lava Lord suddenly stopped.

It clutched its chest tightly, as if something was about to burst out from within.

The Lava Lord knelt on one knee on the ground.

It struggled violently on the ground, and the surrounding magma rolled everywhere.

The sea of magma formed heaven-shaking waves.

Heat waves rolled backward.

Not long after, the Lava Lord stopped moving.

Ye Bai saw the Lava Lord's body gradually turn into black volcanic rock.

Only a series of crack-crack sounds were heard as the Lava Lord's body shattered.

The Nether Wolf emerged from the scattered rocks, holding a red crystal core larger than its own head in its mouth.

It looked at Ye Bai with a fawning expression and gently placed the red crystal core within Ye Bai's reach.

"Very good, Nether Wolf, you have grown up."

"Return to the Pet Beast Space to rest first."

"Paper Puppet, I want to teleport out early."

"This place has already turned into a sea of magma."

Countless paper figures emerged from the void, forming the appearance of the Paper Puppet in mid-air.

The Paper Puppet extended its slender, jade-like hand and tapped heavily on the center of Ye Bai's forehead.

The Space Talisman bound to Ye Bai was instantly activated.

He was directly teleported out.

"Out, finally out."

"If he hadn't come out, I would have rushed in to save him."

A hint of joy appeared on the faces of the Zuoweihui members.

After all, that Secret Realm had become extremely dangerous, covered in scorching magma, with an average temperature of at least seventy or eighty degrees.

If a person didn't take proper precautions, entering that Secret Realm was simply a death sentence.

"Ye Bai, according to the rules of this competition, I need you to hand over the treasures you collected."

"These treasures will be converted into equivalent points."

"You can exchange these points for treasures; if you are lucky enough to become a member of Imperial Capital University, these points can be converted into Imperial Capital University points at a ten-to-one ratio."

Ye Bai opened his Pet Beast Space, and a massive amount of supplies poured out from it.

"Damn, am I seeing this right? That's a Tier 4 Exotic Beast crystal core."

"My god, how did this guy dig up so much ore? Did he strip the Secret Realm bare?"

Watching Ye Bai successfully escape the Secret Realm and bring back so many treasures, Fang Yu watched coldly from the sidelines.

He truly regretted it now; had he known, he should have united everyone to finish off Ye Bai the moment he entered the Secret Realm.

Not giving Ye Bai time to develop.

But it was too late for regrets now.

Just then, Fang Yu sneered: "Fine, settle your own grudges yourself; that will be much more interesting."

After counting all the supplies, the Zuoweihui members discovered that the points Ye Bai possessed already exceeded the second-place contestant by tens of thousands.

Which meant Ye Bai's score was well-deserved.

"Alright, I believe everyone has an idea now."

"The first place of this joint Phoenix Chick Cup and Young Qilin Cup tournament is Ye Bai."

"Congratulations to student Ye Bai for winning the championship of this joint tournament, congratulations to him."

"He will be awarded the Phoenix-Qilin Medal, a medal of extremely high honor that in the past was only awarded to those who won both the Phoenix Chick Cup and the Young Qilin Cup."

"The top ten contestants of this year will receive admission qualifications for Imperial Capital University."

"You may choose to enter the Imperial Capital Research Institute for in-depth research, or enter the Pet Beast Battle Academy to study."

The giant screen displayed the list of the top ten.

First place: Ye Bai, total score 158996; Second place: Fang Yu, total score 125640; Third place: Yun Luo, total score 87894; Tenth place: Ye Jia, total score 32321.

These top ten were the ones exempt from exams to enter Imperial Capital University.

As the highest institution of learning in Yan Country, Imperial Capital University possessed extremely abundant resources.

And the Imperial Capital Research Institute was the holy land that all researchers yearned for.

Who knows how many researchers wanted to join the Imperial Capital Research Institute but failed.

"Ye Bai, there is an awards ceremony later, remember to attend."

The Zuoweihui Chairman shouted loudly at Ye Bai.

Who knew Ye Bai would wave his hand; he had already gotten the items, why stay any longer?

He still had to conduct Sword Spirit Insect research; that was his perfect stepping stone for entering Imperial Capital University.
