Chapter 164: Black Gaze

The Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada is one of the more troublesome types among high-level Ghost-type pet beasts.

Most pet beasts gradually become larger as they evolve, but there is also a small portion of pet beasts whose body size doesn't change much, and even more so, their body size becomes smaller after evolution.

The larger the pet beast's body size, the stronger its power. Correspondingly, even if its speed doesn't change, it will be easier to be attacked because of its large body size.

From the perspective of the natural world, large pet beasts have quite a few advantages, and both their attack power and defense power will be much stronger.

However, this is not absolute, and pet beasts are not divided by body size to determine victory or defeat.

Many small pet beasts can also exert extremely strong attack power, and they can also rely on the characteristic of being small to flexibly dodge attacks.

The Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada belongs to this category.

Watching the shadow ball about to smash onto her head, Qiao Sang held the Little Treasure-Hunting Ghost and dodged to the side.

However, the shadow ball hadn't completely fallen in mid-air when a scorching flame sprayed straight over from the other side and collided with it.

"Bang!!!"

A tremor appeared in the air, and the exploding flames were dazzling.

The two energies collided, and it was the red that occupied the upper hand.

Seeing this scene, Qiao Sang was stunned and turned to look to the side, only to see Like Ya Bao baring its sharp teeth and staring fiercely at the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada.

Looking closely again, the Dreamless Doll had already closed its eyes and fallen to the ground.

Holy crap! Like Ya Bao is mighty! Qiao Sang's face showed joy, and she immediately jumped away nimbly for several meters.

The Dreamless Doll had already been solved. If there was only one Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada, it wasn't that there was no chance of winning. According to the confrontation just now, this Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada's shadow ball proficiency was obviously not high.

Qiao Sang began to self-reflect. She had thought wrong before. So what if the pet beast's level is high? As long as the skill proficiency is high enough and the skills mastered are enough, isn't it easy to defeat one level higher?

What's more, Like Ya Bao now also mastered the Fire Star Rain that even high-level Fire-type pet beasts might not be able to learn.

Just when Qiao Sang was self-reflecting, Like Ya Bao's sharp teeth were already covered in flames, and it pounced fiercely toward the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada in mid-air with all four limbs.

"Yan-yan."

The Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada didn't choose to dodge, but the third squinting eye in the middle of its forehead suddenly opened wide and glowed with purple light.

Like Ya Bao's expression stagnated, and its pouncing movement stopped. A wave of fear suddenly rose in its heart.

"Ya!!"

Like Ya Bao took two steps back, its hair exploded, and its fierce expression turned into fear and vigilance.

Because in its line of sight, the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada in front of it suddenly had no facial features, making it think of the horror movie it had seen before... that human without facial features.

"What's wrong with the Flame-Listening Dog?" Fang Fang Sisi covered her heart, her face pale.

Mom! She had lived for a full 15 years and hadn't experienced such an exciting scene!

First, the Dreamless Doll appeared for no reason, and then the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada appeared suddenly. Looking at them, they were both wild Ghost-type pet beasts that would attack humans.

When she discovered that the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada that popped out was attacking Qiao Sang, she almost peed her pants.

Fortunately, the Treasure-Hunting Ghost blocked it. As a result, before she could calm down, she saw the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada throw a shadow ball at Qiao Sang again, followed by a flame spraying over and exploding in front of her.

Later, seeing the Dreamless Doll being defeated and the Flame-Listening Dog being so brave in launching an attack on the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada, God knows how excited she was at the time!

But now the Flame-Listening Dog suddenly felt cowardly. Her mood fluctuated, rising and falling, and she was almost getting heart disease.

"Qiao Sang, hurry up and think of a way. The Flame-Listening Dog can't be cowardly. If it loses, then only the Cotton-Joint Worm will be left. We can't count on it. If it goes up, I guess the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada throwing a skill at it would be a waste of energy." Fang Fang Sisi said with a trembling voice.

"Sun Jie."

"Sun Jie-Sun Jie."

The Cotton-Joint Worm nodded frantically, expressing agreement.

Qiao Sang looked at the scene before her and said: "Like Ya Bao will be fine. Just now, it was just the Fear Eye cast by the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada that took effect. With Like Ya Bao's temperament, it should be able to recover very quickly."

Fear Eye, mid-level skill, can make the opponent recall things they are afraid of deep in their heart. For opponents with smaller courage, the power is greater.

In Qiao Sang's view, her own Like Ya Bao has a lot of courage.

She thought it would have some fear of Ghost-type pet beasts before coming to the secret room, but it wasn't scared at all. First, it kicked the Cloned Puppet's head without looking back, and later, when encountering the Dreamless Doll, it only had a different reaction at the beginning. When treating the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada, it was even more active in attacking.

Fear Eye or something must be something it can recover from immediately.

Like Ya Bao's whole body hair exploded, staring fixedly at the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada, which in its view already had no facial features.

"Yan-yan."

The Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada opened its mouth, and a purple wave about one meter in diameter sprayed out. This wave was also entangled with several black energies, making people feel a bit chilly.

Like Ya Bao's eyes shrank, and it subconsciously sprayed a thick flame vortex to counter it. Unfortunately, the fear in its heart still made the firing time of the skill slightly slower.

When the flame vortex was sprayed out, the purple energy was already more than two meters away from it.

The purple energy instantly overwhelmed the flame vortex and then impacted toward Like Ya Bao's body.

"It's Dark Pulse."

Accompanied by Qiao Sang's voice, the Dark Pulse hit the ground, and the cement floor directly caved in, appearing with countless spider cracks.

Like Ya Bao was already gone from that original position.

"Yan-yan."

The Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada was stunned, then turned to look at Qiao Sang on the side.

Qiao Sang's heart trembled, and she immediately formed seals with both hands. In the gray star array, Like Ya Bao appeared in front of the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada again.

Seeing Like Ya Bao, which had already recovered its state and was no longer having exploded hair, Qiao Sang breathed a sigh of relief in her heart.

Just now when the skills collided, she felt something was wrong, so she repeated the old trick and summoned Like Ya Bao back. Now it seems her judgment was correct.

The power of Dark Pulse is above the flame vortex.

"Ya!"

After Like Ya Bao came out, it glared at the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada and used Fire Fang for the first time to pounce on it again.

However, it pounced into empty air, and the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada hid its figure and disappeared before its eyes.

Qiao Sang's expression was grave. This wasn't Teleport, but pure invisibility. It was just that the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada's reaction speed was fast enough to dodge Like Ya Bao's attack.

In a place where everyone couldn't see, the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada's three squinting eyes opened wide at the same time, and an invisible force filled the sewer.

If Qiao Sang could see it, she would know why everyone couldn't summon their pet beasts back in the observation room just now, because the skill the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada was using at this moment was Black Gaze, which can make pet beasts unable to be summoned back at will.

Usually, Black Gaze can only lock onto one pet beast, while the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada's Black Gaze can cover the entire secret room. The proficiency of this skill is at least at the major achievement level.

After releasing Black Gaze, the Three-Eyed Ghost Cicada looked at Qiao Sang. ===== CHAPTER 165 =====
