Chapter 8: Interesting Registration Anecdotes
As the green hills slowly turned into high-rise buildings, the bus finally entered the passenger station of the ancient capital of thirteen dynasties; Yang Tianxing could be considered to have stepped onto this familiar land again after a lifetime.
Shao Ziyang had bags large and small strapped to his body, looking with envy at Yang Tianxing, who carried only a backpack and wore large sunglasses with a flashy air; he didn't look like he was here to register for university, but rather like someone here on vacation.
"Let's go, let's grab something to eat first, then go register."
Yang Tianxing walked in front, leading the way in a carefree manner, as familiar as if he had been here many times; Shao Ziyang looked at the endless stream of vehicles and the intricate overpasses, swallowed hard, and followed closely behind Yang Tianxing.
They hadn't walked far when they entered a snack shop behind the bus stop at the passenger station.
"Boss, two bowls of cold skin noodles, one with bottom vegetables and one without, and two meat burgers as well."
Yang Tianxing casually hailed the waiter to order food.
Shao Ziyang put down his luggage: "Little Yang, how do you know the way, and so clearly at that?"
"Hehe."
Yang Tianxing chuckled as he pried open two bottles of Bingfeng soda: "Because your brother is a reborn one."
Shao Ziyang gave a disdainful "Tch"; he wouldn't believe such nonsense, it must be his childhood friend, who was always full of hot air, trying to trick him again.
Not to mention anything else, the fragrant and spicy scent of the chili oil spread over the cold skin noodles whetted one's appetite, and combined with the crispy, golden-crusted meat burgers, it made Shao Ziyang eat without regard for his image.
"Is it really that good?"
Yang Tianxing held a meat burger in his left hand and cold skin noodles in his right, eating until his mouth was oily, and finally taking a sip of the chilled soda; it was truly refreshing in this hot weather.
After finishing the meal, Yang Tianxing pointed at the bus stop sign: "As for you, just take the 106 bus straight to your school."
Shao Ziyang nodded; he trusted his childhood friend Yang Tianxing one hundred percent, it had been like that since they were kids.
"And you, Little Yang?"
"Me?"
Yang Tianxing casually hailed a taxi by the roadside: "Of course I'm taking a taxi; don't bother me now that school has just started, I'm very busy. Wait for me to summon you for an audience."
Shao Ziyang watched the taxi drive away and spat: "Summon for an audience, indeed; thinks he's the Emperor."
…………
At the same time, at the entrance of the University of Communications, because today was registration day, there were too many students coming to register and vehicles were not allowed inside, so Old Tan had to park the car not far outside the school.
Old Tan doted on his daughter and wouldn't let her carry the luggage, carrying some on his back and pulling the rest; Tan Zhizhi couldn't help even if she wanted to.
Tan Zhizhi was still looking forward to university life and was quite excited, but whenever she thought of Yang Tianxing, she would pout involuntarily.
"Daughter, your school is huge; should Dad buy you a bicycle? Otherwise, you might easily be late for class walking."
Tan Qingwu saw that his daughter was in a bad mood and deliberately said something interesting.
Tan Zhizhi shook her head: "No need, Dad, you should go home quickly; I can register by myself, so you don't have to worry about it being too late and unsafe on the way back."
"This..."
Seeing his daughter's firm attitude, Old Tan compromised and said: "Then Dad will go with you to pay the fees and then go home."
There were many people registering today; paying the fees, collecting daily necessities, and reporting to her class took an hour or two. Old Tan originally wanted to take advantage of his daughter not paying attention to go to the dormitory to help make the bed, but he was stopped by Tan Zhizhi.
"Dad, we already agreed, you should go home now." Tan Zhizhi said, acting spoiled while holding Tan Qingwu's arm.
"Alright, alright, then Dad is going home; if anything happens, call us immediately," Tan Qingwu urged, still worried.
Tan Zhizhi smiled sweetly: "I know, Dad."
When she arrived at the assigned dormitory, the roommates who had arrived earlier were already chatting heatedly; the atmosphere became somewhat stagnant after Tan Zhizhi pushed the door open.
Fortunately, Tan Zhizhi was not shy; her family atmosphere and upbringing had made her confident, sweet, and proud since she was a child.
"Hello everyone, I'm Tan Zhizhi from bed three." She waved at the three people chatting.
The other two responded enthusiastically, but the girl in the middle, who was also quite pretty but far inferior to Tan Zhizhi, looked at her with some unkindness.
I wonder if the princess of Jinzhou No. 1 High School will suffer a setback here?
…………
Things were much smoother for Yang Tianxing's registration; once bitten, twice shy, he went directly to the registration point for Public Administration Class 2 based on his memory and saw his familiar counselor from afar—Xie Yu'an.
"Hello, I am a student here to register, Yang Tianxing."
Yang Tianxing walked up with a smile and said.
Xie Yu'an looked up and saw a tall boy with sunglasses perched on his forehead, grinning at him.
"Student Yang, welcome to our Public Administration Class 2; I am your counselor for the next four years of university, Xie Yu'an."
"Old Xie, how could I not be familiar with him."
Yang Tianxing thought to himself, then said: "Then I will have to trouble you for your guidance over these four years, Teacher Xie."
Xie Yu'an nodded; he always felt that the student in front of him was somewhat familiar, a sense of familiarity as if he had met him before.
"He Yulin, come and register Student Yang Tianxing's information."
After Xie Yu'an finished speaking, a girl who was shorter and slightly chubby walked up: "Hello, please fill out this form."
Yang Tianxing looked at the girl named He Yulin and curled his lip; it wasn't that He Yulin was ugly, but in his previous life, when He Yulin was the class monitor, she was always catching Yang Tianxing skipping class.
"Student Yang Tianxing is quite impressive, actually coming to register all by himself."
He Yulin praised him while Yang Tianxing was filling out his information, drawing glances from nearby students and parents.
Yang Tianxing didn't want to show off at a time like this: "My parents wanted to send me too, but something came up at home today, so I had to come by myself."
He Yulin didn't seem to understand the meaning behind Yang Tianxing's words, nor did she notice the expressions of the nearby students: "That's still very impressive; currently, you and one other girl are the only ones in our class who came alone."
Xie Yu'an sat in a chair nearby, listening to the conversation with a smile, observing Yang Tianxing with great interest.
Yang Tianxing pretended not to hear; just as he was writing his name on the class sign-in sheet, he saw that name he missed so much—Liu Jiaoyue.
He curled his lips into a smile: "Found you; this life, I won't let such a pearl be covered in dust."
After filling out the information and saying goodbye to Xie Yu'an, he went to the payment point to pay the fees and collect his daily necessities with ease.
All the way, Yang Tianxing kept thinking about the name "Liu Jiaoyue"; in his previous life, he hadn't noticed such a person since the beginning of university, until there was a donation event in class during his sophomore year—he couldn't remember what it was for—and he, having made a little money from a part-time job, donated 500 on a whim. It was at that moment that Yang Tianxing noticed how stunning this girl, who usually kept her head down, really was.
But unfortunately, she eventually dropped out, which left Yang Tianxing with a lingering regret in his previous life.
"Rest assured, since your brother has been reborn this time, dropping out? That's not happening."
Yang Tianxing let out a loud whistle and headed toward the male dormitory.
