Chapter 180: Two Dogs Transform, Return to Base

~7 min read 1,391 words

The train raced along the tracks and finally arrived at its destination—Orlando.

Louis and the others stepped off the train with their luggage.

David visibly relaxed, gazing at the blue sky, white clouds, and towering skyscrapers before him, letting out a whoop.

He seemed to grow younger all at once.

Louis smirked slightly behind him; clearly, using David as bait for fishing had put immense pressure on him.

Whatever, he’d try not to do that again—it wasn’t very moral.

“Let’s go, let’s head home!”

David, eager and carrying his bags, approached the family vehicle that had been waiting.

As for the car David bought in California?

It’ll have to be shipped over.

Soon enough.

Louis and the others returned home.

As soon as they stepped out, Louis noticed Jiali glancing sideways and nodded, “Go ahead—after all, she’s your mother. But stay alert; she might just think you and we are demons.”

Jiali’s gaze darkened slightly, she nodded, and walked toward the house.

In Jiali’s home, the curtain by the window slightly parted—a pair of eyes watched this side. Seeing Louis and the others return and Jiali walking toward the house, the curtain snapped shut again.

Louis shook his head; her mother’s psychology was truly problematic—religion was destructive.

When I have some hypnotic or mind-affecting techniques later, I’ll try to change her.

But now?

Jiali’s strength and character are no longer what they used to be—no need for me to worry.

“Woof woof woof!!”

A burst of barking—through the doggy flap at the bottom of the door, Meiqiu and Huangjin dashed out and lunged straight at Louis.

They wagged their tails wildly, rubbing against him frantically.

Their tails were wagging so fast they looked like electric fans.

To a dog, the master is everything.

Now that the master had returned, it was their happiest moment.

Louis began patting their heads, but soon noticed something odd—Meiqiu’s body was smaller than before? It had grown to the size of a few-month-old pup, yet now it seemed to have regressed to a one-month-old size?

Still, fluffy and cute.

Sensing Louis’s confusion, Meiqiu barked once—and its entire body instantly expanded, becoming the size of an ordinary adult dog, looking far more imposing, though less cute.

Louis finally understood: this thing had consumed too many high-grade materials; its bloodline power had strengthened, and now it could slightly control its own size.

“Good Meiqiu.”

Louis patted its head, then turned to Huangjin.

Huangjin had also changed—its body now radiated a clear surge of power, its eyes sharper, more expressive; Louis even felt it had developed intelligence rivaling that of a human.

“Huangjin, have you cultivated demonic energy?”

Huangjin shook its head, then nodded.

After a moment, Louis figured it out: like Meiqiu, Huangjin had consumed sentient flesh for years and had now entered the demonic beast stage.

Just as Louis cultivated Qi Gong, it hadn’t generated true demonic energy to ascend into a demon—it merely possessed demonic aura, enough to intimidate ordinary animals and enhance speed and strength.

Louis patted its head again; Huangjin closed its eyes, its tail swaying gently.

Though its intelligence was growing, its habits hadn’t changed.

“Good dog.”

After praising it, Louis saw David and HaiLi had already entered the house. He patted both dogs’ heads, then brought Bess, who had been standing quietly beside him, inside.

As soon as he stepped in, a fire serpent shot toward him.

Louis rolled his eyes, too lazy to move, letting the fire serpent strike him directly.

Crack!

The flames hit Louis and dissipated like smoke.

The Wanhuan Robe’s immunity to fire and water wasn’t fake.

Ordinary flames couldn’t even scratch it.

Watching the scattered flames, Louis sneered—he knew without thinking who pulled this prank. Time for a little punishment.

The Blood River Pearl appeared between his fingers; he flicked it lightly.

Bing!

“Ah!”

Emma came sprinting down from the second floor, clutching her head, tears welling in her eyes—above her, the crimson pearl bounced repeatedly.

“Louis!”

Louis ignored her, beginning to organize his belongings. He’d acquired a lot this trip, and many were dangerous—he’d need to take them all to the Rebirth Prison.

Golden Cross, Golden Pistol, Toy House, Liposuction Worm Jar, Alien Queen Bess, Parasite Queen Remains, New Parasite Queen, Special Meteorite, unconscious Demon Man Abalum…

Aside from the cross and pistol, each of the rest, if released, could trigger chaos.

Bess helped him organize nearby.

After everything was packed, Louis noticed Emma sitting on the sofa, holding a cushion, glaring at him with a sullen expression, starting her passive-aggressive routine: “So who’s this? Hmm? Went on a trip and came back with a golden-haired beauty?”

“I heard it was Hollywood—why didn’t you bring back a movie star?”

Yulunka covered her mouth, stifling a laugh.

Louis retrieved the Blood River Pearl and glared at Emma—she wasn’t actually jealous; she was just teasing him for the sake of it.

She wanted to gain a small psychological victory, to feel she’d won something.

Yeah, spiritual victory method.

Louis didn’t bother arguing.

“I’ll deal with you when I get back.”

Emma raised an eyebrow, regaining her cold expression, then made a slow up-and-down gesture with her hand. “Three seconds?”

Louis paused. “Three days.”

“Heh! I’ll wait!” Emma sneered.

Louis didn’t linger—he loaded his belongings into the car and headed straight for the Rebirth Prison. He’d deal with her when he returned.

He didn’t see that after he left, Emma’s expression changed instantly—she hurried upstairs, starting to gather money.

?

Yulunka, following her, looked puzzled. “Aren’t you going to play with Louis? What are you doing?”

Emma shot Yulunka a sidelong glance, instantly seeing her malicious glee. “Heh.”

“Don’t try to stop me.”

“Then tell me where you’re going—I won’t know how to answer if Louis asks.” Yulunka shrugged, standing firmly in the doorway.

“Duh! I’m running for my life!”

“I’m going to Maria’s place first. If you betray my whereabouts, I’ll go after Jenny—you don’t want that, do you?”

Emma pushed past Yulunka and walked out.

Huangjin, lying at the door, lifted its eyelid, saw it was Emma, and didn’t stop her.

Watching Emma drive off.

Yulunka couldn’t help but laugh.

She had been gloating—but not just for that reason.

Soon after, Yulunka returned to her room, began bathing and dressing.

Forgot to mention: she had successfully cultivated internal Qi, nurturing her Yin Yuan. And the scene just now? She’d deliberately provoked it—before Louis returned, she’d been secretly stoking Emma’s fire.

Now it seemed the effect was excellent—her goal achieved perfectly.

Opportunity always favors the prepared.

Meanwhile, Louis had just arrived at the Rebirth Prison and knew nothing of the two women’s scheming after his departure.

The vehicle stopped.

Looking at the increasingly fortified prison, Louis clapped his hands.

A strand of straw emerged from the bushes, twisting, coiling, forming a mighty straw golem that bowed to Louis.

Though the staff remained inside the prison, its owner hadn’t changed, and combined with Louis’s personal strength and the straw golem’s pragmatism, it still obeyed his orders even without the staff in hand.

Louis glanced at the eight souls behind the golem and raised an eyebrow. “Things have been unstable lately, huh?”

“Good job. Next time, I’ll give you a Soul Stone to eat.”

He patted the golem’s shoulder and began directing it to transport the items.

Honestly, the golem moved things fast.

In no time, everything was transported.

Louis descended directly into the underground base.

As soon as he entered the base, a crimson figure descended from the sky and landed at the prison gate. It sniffed the air, its grotesque, terrifying form showing disappointment, then sprinted to the underground entrance ramp and began waiting.

Meanwhile, inside the elevator, Louis learned that his second uncle was currently negotiating with the Orlando government over prison output and sending prisoners out as laborers—he wasn’t at the prison.

As for the rest, nothing much had changed.

The family was thriving, attempting to establish both Orlando and Miami as their bases.

The only minor flaw was that during this period, many treacherous individuals had begun trying to enter the prison, seemingly seeking something.

"Tsk, getting restless, aren't you? The lesson I gave last time obviously wasn't enough."

Louis thought this, and in his heart he already had a plan to give these capitalists and politicians a profound lesson.
